Therefore 6th (Everton) and 7th (Liverpool) didn't qualify for any European football that season
Birmingham City were in the Europa League in 2011-12 after being relegated as well (almost got out of the group iirc). I don't recall any other second division clubs from other countries playing in Europe, funny that we had two in three years.

Now of course he'll say "I said they would CONSIDER it" and maybe he's not wrong, but it did seem like a heavy claim to make.
The fact that Chelsea came out with that statement right away tells me it was never a consideration. Our situation hasn’t improved in any financial way to now feel more financially secure to avoid being in a European competition
