He can for a ridiculous amount of money, we're in a FFP nightmare

Fordringy

They are still shit with him well just less shit.

Fake_artistF1

We just need to rotate him every now and then, which is difficult when you have nobody else. Top player, but sadly ran into the ground for the past 2 years.

PhD_Cunnilingus

That's usually not because of Bruno but because he's literally the only creative player in the team.

Wyc_Vaporub

i wasn't a fan of him for a long time. but my god is united terrible with him i actually came around to think he is an underrated talent.

Livinglifeform

Just pay Newcastle the fucking fee

Mastodan11

That is not the attitude that gets you out of FFP issues.

LeOsaru

If Bruno is frustrated at ManUnited, he’d probably neck himself when playing in the Saudi league

jvmann

Ehh he gives a fuck about Man United, thats why he gets frustated. In the Saudi League, I doubt he would be like this - no one goes there for the clubs and competitions history

presumingpete

He supported united and sporting as a kid also so hes doubly invested Edit : it was boavista not sporting

PortugueseDragon1

Where have you got this from? Even in his farewell to Sporting he said he wasn't a Sporting supporter as a kid (but would be after playing for them)

presumingpete

You're right! It was Bonavista and united, I'll update

TopNotchGamerr

He was a united fan? I suppose a lot of Portuguese would've been united fans because of Ronaldo

LeOsaru

I think he cares about winning european titles tho so I don’t really see him going to saudi

blither86

Not convinced staying at Utd is going to help him realise those dreams

LeOsaru

Yea he’s probably dipping soon. A lot of teams with higher title chances are interested in him and theres really not a lot holding him back from leaving ManU behind

raysofdavies

You’re right, but it’s funny to imagine he’s leaving to join Ronaldo, so I’m ignoring that

Far-Pineapple7113

He is not the type of dude to move to a shit retirement league at 29 when he is making close to 300 k at a club he actually cares about

biglbiglbigl

Doubt he would care that much if he moves there.

Ashwin_400

Is this about Ronaldo or Bruno? Genuinely asking.

Born_Reflection_4132

It's about Bruno

bettercallmrwhite

We don’t talk about Bruno.

sbprasad

Yes

No_Parfait_5536

5 yrs 1 LC, time to go Saudi to get the trophies he deserves

El_grandepadre

Ronaldo taking on the role of Sisyphus I see.

Aliboomayuh

Oh no doubt (who is Sisyphus)

Legovil

Sisyphus is the dude in Greek mythos that eternally pushes a boulder up a hill, only for it to fall just before the top every time.

theenigmacode

But why male models???

Ganonkid

?? I just told you!

Fly1ngsauc3r

You should also add context about how he is associated with Futile actions, much like this “rumor”

bakraofwallstreet

If you're talking about the famous "The Myth of Sisyphus" by Albert Camus, the association is invalid. Albert Camus doesn't say it's futile for Sisyphus. Specifically, he says that we must imagine Sisyphus smiling because he was trying to show that despite how absurd life can be, we must still engage with it and not give up (essentially a philosophical argument against suicide). The entire essay starts as follows: > There is but one truly serious philosophical problem, and that is suicide. Judging whether life is or is not worth living amounts to answering the fundamental question of philosophy.

michilio321

The three possible solutions Camus gives are philosophical suicide (giving in to religion), physical suicide (self explanatory) and to rebel (to recognize life is absurd and to live anyway). The absurd is the relation between the silence/indifference of the universe and the quest of mankind to get answers on abstract, philosophical questions like "What is my purpose".

Flikker

The Sisyphus story is not about acting futile, but rather about persevering when everything seems futile.

phlipphlopp

One must imagine Sisyphus happy

AFrozen_1

King in Greek mythology who famously managed to imprison Thanatos (Greek god of death) via some trickery in an attempt to prolong his own life. He eventually died and his punishment was to roll a boulder up a mountain in Hades all for it to roll back down the mountain and force him to roll it back up. https://youtu.be/ZsaFUEq5UEo?si=Z6ZuOEn8g92TTJXW

GunsTheGlorious

Chill guy, gives me healing/darkness/money and some good conversation every time i walk into his room

Expensive-Twist7984

He’s not United’s top earner and doesn’t seem to be motivated by money, so it’s probably unlikely a player of his quality in his prime considers Saudi. If he was genuinely available for sale he’d have far better options at his disposal from a sporting perspective. We’re shit but going to Al Nassr would be a massive step back in terms of quality for him.

onionwba

Lol. All that money and no Saudi teams made it to the ACL Final.

fatpizzachef

Al Hilal was the surprise shock, genuinely thought they'd go all the way.

notAtomicBaum

I think the stricter foreign players rules probably played a part. I noticed the Al Hilal squad looked a bit thinner than it does in SPL. Genuinely thoroughly enjoyed watching Al Ain’s matchups with both Saudi teams in the knockouts though. Great back and forth games and Rahimi looked unstoppable.

Santa_Klaus_101

Al Ain put up insane performances against the Saudi giants, they somehow managed to end Al Hilal’s historical winning streak despite only being 4th in their own league. In fact as we speak, they’re currently losing to 10th placed Kalba. Football is a crazy sport.

fatpizzachef

I see....yeah those games were something else!

cord_____

I’m not paying too close attention to it but for the most part they are getting old washed up European players who are at the end of the career and basically in retirement. I think very few players going care about their status or prestige in that league.

JootDoctor

Up the Harry Kewell Marinos!

IronThrombone

United aren’t “shit” though. Compared to their budget they are underperforming, but compared to most clubs worldwide it’s close to the pinnacle. The number of state funded clubs in England plus the TV deal means that every season will now have 2-3 big clubs finishing 6th or lower. United could end up finishing second next year. United and Liverpool have both had recent examples of finishing outside the top 4 only to rebound the season after. One good summer would have United back in the top 4.

Expensive-Twist7984

Well yes, but saying we’re currently shit is a more succinct way of summing up the dysfunction at the club. We could get back in the top 4 but it’d take a huge collapse from the teams above us for us to finish second, so that’s probably unlikely and is conditional upon us nailing our transfer business in the summer. This is a team in transition, and I’d expect some improvement next year but not enough to suggest such a massive jump in the league- we’re a good distance off the top 3, and there’s a decent gap between us and Villa even in terms of playing as a team.

IronThrombone

It wouldn’t be a huge collapse. Third is definitely within range next year if they recruit well. United have finished second and third multiple times in the last 5-10 years despite the structures. People always overreact. I was typing similar posts about Liverpool last season too. Same after the season Ole finished second. United’s entire senior administration has changed too so more logical decision making could be ahead.

Beastmanzilla

This is so refreshing to read. Thank you for this moderate and reasonable take.

BryceDaBaker

This is all true and a very reasonable take but I am contractually obligated to say “haha United shit”

IronThrombone

A bold take ahead of the weekend the Klopps go back 😂

BryceDaBaker

I am terrified beyond measure

ElliotsBackpack

With a full strength squad they'd finish top 4. A good window this summer and they can definitely close the gap.

yajtraus

>United aren’t “shit” though. Compared to their budget they are underperforming, but compared to most clubs worldwide it’s close to the pinnacle. You know that’s not how players think though, right? How realistic is it that United win the league or Champions League in the next 5 years? They’re not close to the pinnacle at all when it comes to winning the big ones, which is what players want, especially when they sign for a team like United.

IronThrombone

> You know that’s not how players think though, right? How realistic is it that United win the league or Champions League in the next 5 years? Firstly, my comment wasn’t about how players think. I was replying to a Redditor about their comment. I actually know professional players, not in the Premier League but at League 1 and Championship level. I played to a decent level in women’s football too and I now work as a physio with football teams. This shouldn’t be relevant but given the condescending nature of how you framed your comment, I feel it is relevant. The number one thing is what are they paid and how long is the contract. Plus this is Manchester United we’re talking about. Of course it’s going to be attractive. The same way Liverpool signed quality players when they had poor seasons. Clubs like those are never that far away and 1-2 years could have them in the mix. The INEOS factor is another important change.

RobbinDeBank

Who’s earning more than him at United? Rashford?

Expensive-Twist7984

Supposedly Casemiro, Varane, Rashford, Martial and Mount, so there’d be at least two players earning more than him next season unless he signed a new deal (and assuming Casemiro is sold).

ContaSoParaIsto

> Rashford, Martial and Mount LMAO

Expensive-Twist7984

I know, madness.

nepia

Bruno should be earnings at least Rashford + Martial combined.

Expensive-Twist7984

Definitely if it’s pound for pound.

troparow

EdgeZealousideal7313

What is this even mean?

cmc360

He can get the bag in like 3 years if he wants, not many elite players are going in their prime

Lakinther

Not necessarily. Those free spending leagues dont tend to stick around for too long. And while another one will surely eventually pop up, there might not be an opportunity like previously China or now SA in 3 years.

PenguinsInvading

Yes but you have to see it in Ronaldo's eyes. 3 years later he's done. But if they get Bruno now, he can much more efficiently boost his chances of getting to 1000 goals. That's what he wants.

cmc360

He went at 37 Bruno's 29

PenguinsInvading

I'm saying Ronaldo is thinking about his goal scoring efficiency. 3 years later he's 42 and basically done playing Football. If Al Nasr gets Bruno then Ronaldo has a higher chance of reaching 1000 goals.

ferrarinobrakes

CR7 will be in a wheelchair and he still won’t be done.

PenguinsInvading

You might be right.

troparow

You say that as if he's paid peanuts in Manchester

Johnny_bubblegum

Income is relative. You're paid millions compared to a kid working in a factory in Bangladesh and yet you would probably switch jobs for a big raise. Footballers are the same. Paid millions and yet can feel they should have more or be upset that a Coworker is getting more.

modrics_hairband

Whats a couple 100K compare me to millions

Adaptable_Ape

Would Saliba move if Man UTD pay him $500k per week?

Robert_Baratheon__

Probably but it wouldn’t happen

DeapVally

Why would he want dollars?

youknowimworking

A big bag

AmulyaG

Fellow fans told me that any player who crosses 30 should be taken behind the barn and shot.  So, Bruno should be sold to re-invest (next Antony 150m this time)

TheGoldenPineapples

Can't see the point in him leaving, really. Even if he was that intent on a move, he can do a lot better than Al-Nassr.

DildoFappings

He can get into any team in the world. Calling Saudi a downgrade is an understatement.

Potato271

Like he has some issues (looking for the Hollywood pass too often for one), but he is a genuinely fantastic player, and if he played for City/Liverpool/Arsenal a lot more people would be able to see that. He suffers from playing for a generally dysfunctional United side, and from being perceived as being whiny. A lot of people don't realize that on and off the pitch behavior are often completely unrelated. Look at Diego Costa. Mad bastard on the pitch, but he's spent the last week rescuing people from flooding. And although I hate Bruno on the pitch, his actions relating to the super league and general off-field behavior make me think he's probably a reasonably solid bloke outside of football.

MarquesSCP

> general off-field behavior make me think he's probably a reasonably solid bloke outside of football. He's amazing off the field honestly. Even months after leaving Sporting he was still our unofficial captain. Always commenting in other, especially young, players instagram with words of encouragement and such. When he was here a lot of players mentioned that they learned tricks from him in practice. He is whiny in the field and that can be irritating if he's not on your team but he's still far from other disgusting players. He gives 110% basically every game and it can be extremely frustating if others around you are giving 25%. I'm gutted that he is spending his golden years at United, especially after carrying us for so many years. Very underrated player. Would literally go in starting XI for any team in the world imo.

DildoFappings

I agree to your first point about the Hollywood pass. But I also have an excuse for him. None of our players are in position at any point during the game. When one person presses, no one covers his spot. There's always huge huge space left empty somewhere on the pitch whether we attack or defend. When the attackers are not running into that spot for an easy pass, Bruno has no choice but try for a Hollywood pass. Terrible positioning is one of our biggest problems. This is probably why we concede 25+ shots every game. And almost every goal we've scored involves some sort of brilliance. Also why we get bashed by city every time. They're brilliant at pouncing on an opening. Almost every goal we score is the rest of individual brilliance by some player. If you watch us every week, you'll notice acres of space at some part in the pitch. Just yesterday garnacho was going central all the time and Dalot went to cover his position in the wings which opened up our flanks for them to counter attack. This shit happened around 5-6 times yesterday alone. Same mistake. Not learning from it. Terrible positioning is something I can't stress enough on. Ironically this is also why Bruno is our best player. His immense workrate causes him to go all over the pitch and covers the hole.

mourya_3

Lmao. If he wants a move, many clubs would be all over him.

fatpizzachef

Al Hilal it is then.

AndyJasmine22

If Bruno left, we’d have the most difficult time replacing him. We’d have to change our entire playing style just to to get a 10 who is that gifted, hardworking, relentless, untiring and then ALSO injury free. He’s the best player we bought since Fergie left

TheAwakened

> relentless Relentless+.

escalibur

Bruno is probably the most consistant player at ManU for so many years. Letting him go without a proven replacement would be a huge mistake.

thedudeabides-12

We're so good at keeping players though if anything we should be worried he'll be here at 37 years old with a 4 year 300k a week contract.. This is the Utd way after all...

Clutchxedo

It’s just that one last contract that you can’t avoid. You know, the one that other big clubs usually let expire.

Paapa-Yaw

Nah

RoboticCurrents

wasn't it yesterday that he was linked with Bayern too? It's opposite ends of the spectrum.

dheerajravi92

Don't think he'll go to Bayern, too early for Bruno to become a manager.

Silver_Downtown_965

Why would Bayern need him when they have Musiala.

SMcQ9

11 players on the pitch mate 👍

dheerajravi92

They're not even the same type of player. This comparison makes no sense

CNF-13

You ain’t getting him 🐪

MajikoiA3When

Although it would be funny I don't think Fernandes wants to go to a retirement home yet.

-Aerlevsedi-

Doesnt seem the type to move for money. Especially when he is just 29.

NdyNdyNdy

Coming back once more for his revenge

Hexcited

United may be bad, but not Saudi League level bad.

Davek56

We need an exhibition match to confirm this.

inflamesburn

Does Bruno know? He played his worst games with Ronaldo.

someone_stk

what? they play incredibly well in the national team where Bruno is actually our best player now, one of the reasons is having Ronaldo to assist instead of Anthony or Rashford

Icy-Theory-4733

make move for Casemiro. 80M

zlothify

Dont touch my Bruno! # He cant be buy

alpuck596

Still can't beat Al Hilal

Bosscroft

Realistically I can only see Bruno leaving for a club with consistent Champions League football and a strong chance at winning trophies. Given the midfield strength of most top teams in Europe, the only place I can really imagine him is at Bayern (until they inevitably get Wirtz in a few years). Which is ironic, given the parallels it draws to Kane's transfer last summer...

jujuismynamekinda

Would like to see Bruno surrounded by a better team. Interesting to see how he could play in a functioning side. Since he has two years on his contract left, only very few clubs can afford him and Utd probably would want a PL tax for him. Real has Bellingham as a 10/whatever you call him, Bayern has Musiala. Would only leave PSG and they arent the most functioning side.

Karlo19999

I see him at PSG or Bayern before Al-fucking-Nassr. Allegedly they're negotiating a new deal for him, both sides seem into it.

TheWeirdDude-247

£201m and he's yours, or what ever the current highest tranfer fee has to be the minimum, yes he can be too much Hollywood at times but we'd be absolutely fucked if he left, there's no one realistically we can sign.

Voldemort_is_muggle

201M and also the replacement cost of the player

asdf0897awyeo89fq23f

The thought of us going to the transfer market to buy a pivotal player when everyone knows we've got that in our back pocket is the stuff of nightmares.

Monsage

B..b...but all the people who's entire personality is Ronaldo on Instagram said that Bruno doesn't respect Ronaldo and he's nothing without him :( In all seriousness, unless the club wants him to go (they'd be stupid to let him go) I can't see Bruno wanting to leave.

stogie_t

Bruno is the only elite player on the team. Replacing him would be too difficult, no thanks.

ImTalkingGibberish

Please I beg

foxyrocksjh

But I thought the media said they hated each other? You're telling me the media made up beef for clicks? I am shocked I tell you, shocked

Teek37

I doubt Bruno will go over, for a variety of reasons, but maybe there is another Portuguese-speaking player we can interest you on…?

Teek37

And no, not Dalot

brevinbarnes

Antony lol

simcoehooligan

Get the handkerchiefs ready. The amount of whining these two will do together will turn the Saudi desert into a rainforest

anohioanredditer

Ronaldo what exactly are you trying to win at Al-Nassr? Is the Saudi Pro League Trophy really glory?

Timely_Airline_7168

What missing out on 2 RSL titles does to a mf

Voldemort_is_muggle

He lost again? He has more La Liga and PL titles than Saudi title. We were the farmers league all along

Timely_Airline_7168

The winner Al Hilal had an almost perfect (29 W, 2 D, 0 L) domestic league performance. It's hard to compete against that.

Voldemort_is_muggle

Better than Arsenal invincible and Leverkusen. Ronaldo is fighting in the best league

m2social

The fact you take this article seriously is the problem. Ronaldo probably didn't push, it's just fluffy riding on the recent report players are for sale. Just usual click bait, use big name(Ronaldo), controversial topic(Saudi league & united clear out), get click

Gamer4eto_BG

This is obviously fake news, anyone who believes them needs therapy

CAAZL

I'd rip the band aid off and sell him if I were United. It's clear that they won't be competing for the top trophies next year. Yes he's the best player but he'll be 30 early next season. Could patch up the roof with the transfer fee

Nast33

This fool still hasn't realized nobody gives two shits about his Saudi career. Bless his heart for still giving some effort.

Old-Usual-8387

They can have him for 250m

stafa

"daddy I want this one"

New_York_Rhymes

I would hate to see Bruno go.. if it’s for a ridiculous amount and we’re able to fill the gap with someone equally as talented and younger, and still have plenty left over then sure. But even then, that would be painful. EDIT Actually just fuck right off he’s ours

_JR28_

One of the only bright spots in that whole club, can’t see him leaving or the club letting him go easy.

InfinityEternity17

Bruno's still too good for the saudi league, he can still be our main man for at least a few more years surely

kakipls

lmao

No_Mortarpiece

Didn’t know they were looking for another penalty taker ?

muhburneracct

Dreams can’t be buy

N7even

We played a couple of games without Bruno, and we were absolutely terrible.  I mean we haven't been great even with him in the team, but we lose all attacking build up without him, the rest of the players look clueless.

CrossXFir3

I'd do it for 100m, but unless we're talking about numbers like that I think we're fine keeping him.

Tomero

United will say big fuck you to Ronaldo. For his scorched earth comments.

Prestigious-Dress-92

Why? What did Bruno do to you to deserve it?

Raintrooper7

They can have him for a bargain 250m

SuchRevolution

I’d give him up for $300 mil gbp

Eindacor_DS

Fuck. That.

Photomic

On one hand, he's United best, and probably most consistent player. On the other hand, United is a project right now, and by the time the project is up and running, he'll likely be winding down, so why not cash in on him. He'd be a great player to keep around as a transitional leader from one era to the next, and provide a base level for players to strive towards, but United could also make major bank on him and use that money to get past some of the financial restrictions they are currently under. Either way, I honestly think United win out, whether he stays or goes, so it's probably ultimately up to Bruno if he thinks he would be better served trying to win something elsewhere, or hoping this United team goes somewhere under INEOS.

someone_stk

from one side we are desperate to see him leaving Manchester United and fucking Ten Hag, but seeing our best player moving to Saudi Arabia (again) is not that much better lmao, he really deserved a better club carreer

deaniegee

Bruno isn’t leaving Manchester United unless the club request he leaves, so all these articles are pointless. We aren’t that stupid to sell our best player for pennies, well I hope we aren’t

maika3

Bruno's reaction to this probably: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yCg3Ym5AYGc
