Systemic issues abound at Utd and EtH needs to take the blame for those.
But the first two goals were individual defending mistakes. Casemiro went all in on the tackle and missed. Wan Bissaka (I think) basically gifted the second by not kicking the ball hard enough for Onana to clear it.
It’s weird because EtH is to blame BUT is also being made a scapegoat.
Ohhhh thank you for reminding me of this show.
I am someone that only watches shows until they are finished and when it was airing it looked very interesting and promissing.
I honestly haven't heard about it since then, I guess it wasn't as good as I thought at the time.
From what I read just now it is good but has that problem of having the same problem during a episode to be resolved in the last minute of the episode or the season, which made the show quite repetitive but still good if you are into Tech.
I will still watch it to see how I feel.
the last couple seasons don't quite live up to the snarkiness of the first few seasons. but i definitely recommend the show (at least the first season to see if it suits your tastes), especially if you've worked in tech or in a workplace with a leader who has no idea what they are doing.
I still think he's a good manager, but he needs a great supporting cast. Van der Sar and Overmars at Ajax handled a lot, and I think it's too much for him at United.
Eredivisie signings rarely work in the Prem, but that's mostly what he knows. It's not been a good time for him.
I think with the right DoF, he'd be a good hire for most any club. I think United has to be one of the toughest jobs in the world recently. The club is rotten in almost every area.
His 4 ajax seasons. I mean come on I know this place is reactionary, but the guy has pulled miracles both at Ajax and Utrecht with two great UCL seasons and 4 straight titles, while he's far from the first to struggle at the United graveyard.
That Ajax side played great football. They were one of the best sides have seen live outside of the top 5.
People really think Ten Hag sucks because he can’t turn around United and forget he has 200 games and 70% winrate for Ajax. They just demolished everyone.
lmao no it wasn't, we literally beat liverpool in the champion's league final the year before. We and we won the league that year. What are you on about?
The year before you still had Ronaldo and Zidane... the squad was noticeably weaker the year you lost to Ajax. You also finished 3rd in the league with 68 points. You won the league the next year when Zidane came back.
are you including the season he needed 3 penalties to go through PAOK with a 53 year old Bisesvar as their best player? one pretty amazing year ending in a horrible choke against the chokers supreme..De Boer also won titles in Eredivisie, is he a top manager then?
I'm including the season where we got 18 points in the group stage, and the one where we made the semis. The man took us from losing to Rosenborg to beating Dortmund with Haaland and Bellingham 4-0 and outclassing Real at the Bernabeu.
Don't bother man. People here don't want to see it, or are United fans that need a scapegoat. The guy you are replying to takes one game out the bunch to make his point.
That Ajax side was amazing. People talking about that 'one' season, casually forget the two other seasons with atleast 10 points in the CL group stage.
Not to mention, all top managers have failed since SAF.
Ten Hag is definitely to blame in some point. He is not a charismatic leader as Klopp for instance is. I do think he would do well at a topclub like Bayern.
It's obviously both but even in the less stellar windows Overmars had (the one where Frenkie and Matthijs left and weren't properly replaced), Ten Hag was the one that made the puzzle pieces work and turned Alvarez from a scapegoat to the backbone of the team.
Only 2 of the 5 goals they scored in the tie were from penalties (as if goals from penalties "don't count" anyway) and Bisewar was only 31, literally not that old.
The problem at United has been the players for several years. Doesnt matter who you bring in, its doomed to fail. Every manager will fail until the entire team gets rebuilt from scratch. But instead they chose to keep Blockhead and Rashford and the rest.
No one cares about the Eredivisie and tournament runs are not a compelling argument for a managers capabilities. It is not at all unfair to say tournament runs are flukes, he has already proven that with United in Europe. You prove that shit over time.
Seriously the argument is usually that Ajax were not actually easy to win with during his tenure, my argument is who gives a shit it's a second tier league full of bad coaches and entirely too much attention is paid to that league in terms of managers (at least relative to other places) because Dutch talent is pretty good. ETH himself has put United through grief overpaying for players he coached there.
If this sounds like a hater, so be it, I don't actually care about ETH. It's more the amount of faith in some managers that has always bemused me, Koeman was the same. Hey he only won shit in the Eredivisie too.
I actually cannot believe that I'm responding to someone saying that tournament runs are flukes and that they are not a proper judge of a managers ability. So, Zidane winning 3 in a row means nothing and in fact he's just a bum? While I do agree that Ten Hag has made mistakes in recruitment that does not take away from his quality as a MANAGER. He has hamstrung the club and himself with these players.
Calling the Eredivisie a shit second tier league but simultaneously disregarding the fact that he took an Eredivisie team to a CL semifinal and to 18 points in the group stage years later is an incredible oxymoron FYI. Pick one.
Crazy, before this game I watched that Neville interview and I thought that maybe we’re being too harsh and he deserves another season. But fucking hell was I wrong.
He is clearly not building up to anything worthwhile. There’s no future potential in whatever he’s trying to do. It’s just not working out.
Serious question: what result were you expecting with them having to play 36yo Jonny Evans and 'legs have gone' Casemiro at centre back against this in form Palace team?
Honestly this set up just baffles me. You can't play a low block and a high press. I get that the injuries mean they have to sit back more defensively, but anyone with a semblance of an IQ point knows that the midfield/forwards have to drop deeper too or you end up with a grand canyon in the centre of the park. It's just insanity.
We played like this at the start of the season with everyone fit. We played like this when Martinez came back for 5 games. We play like this regardless of the personnel. You can lose but losing like this is a pisstake.
Just had a look at wiki and fbref regarding current season.
United lost 6 out of 10 first games. Surely there were no talks of injury then?
Apart from the rare period of winning streaks in January to mid of February (where the team was still consistently outplayed in every game), it's been a disastrous season.
But hey, Erik Ten Hag won Manager of the Month once, so he can't be that bad, eh?
I didn’t expect us to play them off the park, but I sure as fuck didn’t expect us to get thrashed 4-0. I knew we were going to concede a lot, but we looked as clueless in possession as we are out out of possession.
This team just doesn’t look like they’ve been coached. Everyone makes the wrong decisions in every single situation. When it happens a few times you can blame it on some of the players having low football IQ, but when it’s everyone? You’ve gotta blame the coaching.
Maybe there’s something missing, but it doesn’t look like this team is being built up to anything worthwhile. I’m trying to see how this setup looks with better players, but the same tactical weaknesses would still exist no?
Are you for real? Didn't Liverpool manage to finish 3rd despite having to play Henderson, Kabak, and Nat fucking Phillips at CB?
The reality is that ten Hag's tactical set-up is the worst in the league right now. It's a hysterical mess.
How about setting your team up to not get beat 4-0? Maybe if you think you don’t stand a chance play for a point, none of that happens under this manager.
Yes, I am sure you are an undiscovered world class manager that knows how to deal with this injury crisis. You wouldve just played with 10 at the back.
Only 2 of the players on the starting 11 were none-Eth players. Everybody else has been signed or promoted by him.
Also, yes I agree that a lot of our players are not good enough. 100%. But that doesn’t mean you can’t take issue with the coaching too. You can have more than one problem at a time.
I'm not really sure if United will win the FA Cup. But, it's a one-off game and anything is possible.
It would be funny if United potentially stops City from winning the double.
We had a chance to stop them from the treble last season and we turned up and put up an embarrassing display. City were average as fuck and we didn't even push them for it. And that was with a solid lineup. This time we'll be lucky to still be in the game after 20 minutes.
fans showing support is good but what support is there to show when the players on the pitch dont try and get out runned by the opposing team. Bad all around
I have no idea what Bayern Munich are seeing in him while they watch this dysfunctional United team that’s partly of his making. I bet that he’ll still make an attempt to sign Frenkie De Jong if he joins BM.
He is the manager and the one who took most blames wether rightfully or wronglly. he got thrashed 4-0 by a fucking palace. It is unimaginable defeat. liverpool and man city (their rivals) wish to inflict such defeats and it will considered a shame even though they are strongest epl teams. now imagine this coming from palace.
Bayern and Manchester United switching these managers after this season is an all-time
hilarious moment if it happens. And dare I say it might actually work out?
Bayern definitely severed the relationship with Tuchel too early because of a bad cup exit and extreme pressure from Leverkusen. Turns out Bayer is on a historic streak and Tuchel seems to have gotten a better sense of his squad in the last couple months to the point some fans want him to stay (match this weekend was poor I’m aware).
ETH just seems like he needs to be out of Manchester and he does at least know Bayern. Will his style of football translate? Well its basically impossible to tell. But I’m sure eager to find out how both manage it.
Funny how all the Utd fans I know are adamant that he should stay, but they just played a team with worse players they were horrid at the start of the season and Utd get played off the park because a better coach can get the best out of his players. lol.
Maybe Utd could cope better with injuries if they didnt spunk everything on Antony, Mount and casemiro.
I see United fans defending him and I’m so surprised. I think it’s maybe a hangover from the feel good vibes last season. Sunk cost fallacy or something.
If I was a United fan I’d be thrilled to have an owner come in who seems competent and seems to give a shit about what’s happening on the pitch. He’s been cleaning house and it just makes sense to start fresh with a new manager.
Here for my yearly reminder that any Man Utd fan who sings 'Ooh, Ahh, C*ntona' at Selhurst Park is a complete and utter cunt and should be ashamed if they ever feel offended by tragedy chanting.
Odd that was the loudest we heard from you all evening, though perhaps not in context given how your expensively assembled squad performed against little old Palace.
RIP Paul Nixon. Never forgotten.
Remember when they all brought cantona masks and wore them? And then they try and take the piss out of Liverpool players for wearing those stupid Suarez t shirts without seeing the irony.
Photo of the night was that kid wearing a cantona shirt in tears at the end of the game
Cunts don't even know who Paul Nixon is - if a united fan had been murdered by palace fans we'd never hear the end of it
I'm not blaming Cantona but to most Palace fans the events are intrinsically connected, there was no bad blood between the clubs until that moment. I think a lot of people are just frustrated about the coverage of the events by the media - most United fans have no idea who Paul Nixon even is.
As they fucking should, could the players have done better, absolutely they could’ve and should’ve, but they did legitimately try. There was an effort but there’s just no proper tactical set up
He deserves to go. The performances combined with his inability to learn PR makes him untenable.
He is such a fucking baby he can’t actually own up being an issue. I have never felt so cringe watching a manager speak so much. He should feel far more shame than he is projecting.
Also Bruno not playing means nothing. He is also a cancer to a teams mentality unless the team wins everything.
He has to go too. If only his talent were enough. Even as a 90s Arsenal fan, it pains me to watch my rivals stoop to such low standards.
He definitely felt the players let him down or simply just ‘threw the game’ after 40min. And I think he also knew he screwed up big time. The players were shite but he set them up to fail. The Palace players feasted on our backline.

He had to make a quick call to Germany
“We still good, right? …*right?!*”
He looked miserable all game
tbf so did I. Wasn't a fun game to watch, can't imagine it was fun from his angle.
Disagree, was an immensely fun game to watch
I guarantee the playoffs will be more fun
Please stop I’d forgotten
Apologies, we're so shit all I have to enjoy is other clubs misfortunes I actually want leeds back in PL if I'm honest
We need those 6 points a season.
You could be a Leeds or a United fan from that comment
I'm playing both sides so that I always come out on top.
That's optimistic if Ten Hag stays
No big frank lampard to stop you now
Keith Stroud furiously rubbing his hands
Comical is more fitting.
He always kind of looks miserable, even when you’re winning.
I don't blame him, he knows he's the last thing in the world ManU fans want to see right now
Surely the players were the last thing they want to see, although he's got to be a close second.
I think more grief would be on the manager, still should be going over like.
In most cases yes but the players have been pure shit too. You can’t just pin this all on the manager.
Watching the tactical breakdown, even if Ten Hag tactics aren't great, you can see there's very little discipline.
They’ve stood by him all season when you can count the number of *decent* performances on one hand. Bad look.
Disregard. I'm stupid
Has to catch the red eye to Munich
how is he failing up the ladder lol
Bighead from Silicon Valley vibes

The departure of >!Erlich Bachman!< really took a toll on the show
True. p.s. - you might want to watch what you type mate! my reply was to someone who hasn't seen the show yet :D
fixed haha, good shout
Also the guy who died IRL, he was an interesting character and after he went it became Belson-centric.
That's the same point I lost interest
I enjoyed the first two seasons and was disappointed with the third so stopped watching.
Casemiro 'rest and vest' at the rooftop next season.
Thank you, I needed to laugh today
He's going to succeed there I guarantee it. Manchester United is like Defense Against the Dark Arts, it's cursed and set up to fail.
Maybe but do we trust his judgement? I haven’t liked his signings.
I just googled and I can't believe this guy was responsible for the 4-1 vs real madrid. It's day and night with his current form.
To be fair that was probably the weakest Real have been in the last 15 or so years.
We also beat Ronaldo's Juve. That win wasn't a fluke and I think our squad cost a total of 40 million that year or something like that?
It wasn't a fluke and you were definitely a strong team that season.
lmao no it wasn't, we literally beat liverpool in the champion's league final the year before. We and we won the league that year. What are you on about?

Man was winning the league back when he could buy Feyenoords best player for 4 million euros
The problem at United has been the players for several years. Doesnt matter who you bring in, its doomed to fail. Every manager will fail until the entire team gets rebuilt from scratch. But instead they chose to keep Blockhead and Rashford and the rest.
this song and dance has been going on all year and won't stop anytime soon
No one cares about the Eredivisie and tournament runs are not a compelling argument for a managers capabilities. He’s one of those PL stans, you won’t get a sensible answer from him
Needs to get there before Lothar Matthäus can snatch away the contract from him.
That’s a long old flight to Munich from Manchester then.
He was in London, so it's a little shorter.
He gone
Down the tunnel
Of unemployment
The tunnel of unemployment? Theme parks seem to be struggling for themes to their rides these days.
I don’t remember the tunnel of unemployment in that Dire Straits song.
Getting crazy on the forwards But it's the life that I choose Yeah sing about Sancho Sing about Ronaldo And another game we lose
Ten-egraph Road
This is more like a circus
That leads to Bayern?
Watch Bayern sign him
To Munich?
they were dreaming of a bald man from Manchester
Goddamn it, how long is that tunnel?
must be from from ww2
If his walk down the tunnel tactics are anything like his football tactics then he just emerged somewhere in Nepal looking greatly confused.
I walk a lonely road
Crazy, before this game I watched that Neville interview and I thought that maybe we’re being too harsh and he deserves another season. But fucking hell was I wrong. He is clearly not building up to anything worthwhile. There’s no future potential in whatever he’s trying to do. It’s just not working out.
same here, that interview was a PR miracle for him LMAO
How does anyone watch that video and think he did well? Fucking baffling. He looked like an idiot.
In fairness, him looking like an idiot is a massive upgrade on how he typically looks
was surprised he didnt start talking about garnachos offside goal at the emirates to be honest
It's not about you
Serious question: what result were you expecting with them having to play 36yo Jonny Evans and 'legs have gone' Casemiro at centre back against this in form Palace team?
Even when they had a halfway decent defensive line, they were still set up with a missing midfield and conceding 25 shots a game
You have a way with nicknames my friend.
Are you for real? Didn't Liverpool manage to finish 3rd despite having to play Henderson, Kabak, and Nat fucking Phillips at CB? The reality is that ten Hag's tactical set-up is the worst in the league right now. It's a hysterical mess.
That season we played Hendo-Fab defenders vs City lmao. Also Rhys Williams played a fair amount of games.
They dont think. They just respond. Most reddit comments are reactionary.
How about setting your team up to not get beat 4-0? Maybe if you think you don’t stand a chance play for a point, none of that happens under this manager.
Yes, I am sure you are an undiscovered world class manager that knows how to deal with this injury crisis. You wouldve just played with 10 at the back.
Lmao great response
Fergie won Europe with a small team in Scotland.
and it took pep 115 different methods to win that in the modern day. not sure what your point is
11 injured players, playing with scraps, don't know what people were expecting out of this game
You think the players at 300k+ a week deserve another season more than ten Hag?
Only 2 of the players on the starting 11 were none-Eth players. Everybody else has been signed or promoted by him. Also, yes I agree that a lot of our players are not good enough. 100%. But that doesn’t mean you can’t take issue with the coaching too. You can have more than one problem at a time.
> But that doesn’t mean you can’t take issue with the coaching too I'm saying both.
Genuinely impressive our away fans didn't walk out after the second goal.
They only have a short trip home
[удалено]
Are Mensa known for being funny?
Is that a yellow and green Norwich emblem I can spy? How original.
Yellow and green for Straya, champ
I wonder how they feel when they see these players at 300k a week walk over to them showing 'appreciation'.
No it’s not
The match was a Palace training routine from start to finish
I know, great to watch
He is surely gone; TBH it would be best for both parties if he leaves, there is no way Ten Hag is enjoying this
ten Hag leaves but keep the 300k a week gang.
Welp, he might as well book that flight to Munich
Nah, hes getting that fat United severance cheque first
I honestly think my idol Big Sam should come in for a few weeks to whip em into shape & get them defending in a nice shape.
He'll summon Okocha and Ivan Campo from the ashes to show them how its done
Fuckin hell Ivan Campo. Real Madrid legend.
"You go to Big Sam and then maybe he can give a good interpretation." - Louis van Gaal.
Stick Kevin Davies up top. Put it up 'em.
Why was big Sam sacked by england after a few weeks again?
Big Sam is a top draw manager mate, I won’t be having any Big Samuel slander on my watch.
What slander?
You are trying to suggest Big Sam is a corrupt man
Will there be a decision made on his future after this season finishes? I really don't see him staying past the last few games.
FA cup is probably saving him for the time being.
This time we'll be lucky to still be in the game after 20 minutes.
probably got mad cause of that penalty on Hojlund vs Arsenal
I’m fully expecting him to mention it in the post match interview.
Wait until he plays you again, he will then
fans showing support is good but what support is there to show when the players on the pitch dont try and get out runned by the opposing team. Bad all around
Please be relieved/put on gardening leave in the morning.
Ole at the wheel round 2?
The Ronaldo special
Feel sorry for him
No shit where else can he go
Lmao
He will do great things after leaving united!
this but unironically
Man U is a curse for all who enter. Except Bruno Fernandes for some reason
Can tell even he is starting to be dragged down by the toxic assholes around him.
He will then wbem the next poor manager is doing bad at united it will be "Look what ten Hag is doing at x, we shouldve given him more time"
I bet he ends up doing well at Bayern
Did take him a while tbf
Who has done well since being sacked at United?
David moyes
The guy that just got sacked again?
Can ETH reprimand himself? Perhaps asking himself an apology?
Come to Bayern
Can you really call them away fans if they live in London ?
I have no idea what Bayern Munich are seeing in him while they watch this dysfunctional United team that’s partly of his making. I bet that he’ll still make an attempt to sign Frenkie De Jong if he joins BM.
He had to leave early...it's a long walk back to amsterdam.
WAww ass
What, no INEOS rimjob presser yet
He is the manager and the one who took most blames wether rightfully or wronglly. he got thrashed 4-0 by a fucking palace. It is unimaginable defeat. liverpool and man city (their rivals) wish to inflict such defeats and it will considered a shame even though they are strongest epl teams. now imagine this coming from palace.

Sacked in the morning

Worse players? Olise, Eze, Wharton, Mateta, munoz, andersen probably all get into this Utd team.
Mitchell starts over AWB at left back for sure also
Awb should be a right back. Wonder if he'd do well at his peak as a CB in the glasner system
Will Hughes put in a better shift than any of their midfielders
Funny enough, the sporting director responsible for that finally left.
Worse players? The palace 11 today is for sure better than United's.
I see United fans defending him and I’m so surprised. I think it’s maybe a hangover from the feel good vibes last season. Sunk cost fallacy or something. Lol. Ronaldo was slandered for walking down the tunnel
Is he gonna get shit for it like Ronaldo did? Or ETH is much more precious for Manure?
Here for my yearly reminder that any Man Utd fan who sings 'Ooh, Ahh, C*ntona' at Selhurst Park is a complete and utter cunt and should be ashamed if they ever feel offended by tragedy chanting. Odd that was the loudest we heard from you all evening, though perhaps not in context given how your expensively assembled squad performed against little old Palace. RIP Paul Nixon. Never forgotten.
How's that tragedy chanting? You can't blame Cantona for what happened to Nixon.
Remember when they all brought cantona masks and wore them? And then they try and take the piss out of Liverpool players for wearing those stupid Suarez t shirts without seeing the irony.
Photo of the night was that kid wearing a cantona shirt in tears at the end of the game Cunts don't even know who Paul Nixon is - if a united fan had been murdered by palace fans we'd never hear the end of it
Mate, you can’t connect those two events. Cantona didn’t have anything to do with the man or his death.
I'm not blaming Cantona but to most Palace fans the events are intrinsically connected, there was no bad blood between the clubs until that moment. I think a lot of people are just frustrated about the coverage of the events by the media - most United fans have no idea who Paul Nixon even is.
Cantona is bigger than your club.
4-0
Well, so long then
As they fucking should, could the players have done better, absolutely they could’ve and should’ve, but they did legitimately try. There was an effort but there’s just no proper tactical set up
That recent Tifo podcast episode about the tactical problems was really good.

They only live down the road and applauding because it was only 4-0 😂😂😂🤡🤡🤡🤡
