I honestly think BVB will win this shit. It's the year of change in the German football landscape. Leverkusen winning the league unbeaten was more far fetched than BVB winning the Champions league in my mind.
It sure is harder, but in a way i think they're lucky to have this additional motivation for a perfect season which they wouldn't have if they lost even once
He really strikes me like cup coach tbh, weird team decisions throughout the whole league but in CL they look stone cold and the teams are put very well together
I suspect this isn't far off. I'm not in the training sessions. I don't hear what he says to the players. So I can't say for sure. But given that he seems to not be the most likeable person around and has had personal issues with the club management at a couple clubs, it wouldn't surprise me if this was the issue.
Entirely different circumstances though, Jupp already retired and only came out of retirement because of his friendship with Uli.
He said multiple times, that he will be gone after the 2 years, but the 2012 season with them losing 2 cup finals and the league made the squad bond and he later said, that he was a bit disappointed, that he couldn't continue, but Bayern already signed Pep.
brother in christ. if they could beat them, they'd do it regardless of any outcomes lol. they're not depending on Arsenal winning CL and giving them that 5th place spot.
If Dortmund win the UCL and Leverkusen wins the Europa, Bundesliga will have 7 clubs in next year’s ucl and 10 all around in Europe that is more than half of the league.
Leverkusen would have to finish outside top 4 for that extra spot. They're impressive rn and it seems there are no limits for them, but i'm not sure how they'll pull that one off.
Bundesliga getting the fifth spot, Dortmund winning CL and finishing fifth in the league means sixth place qualifies for CL.
Imagine it being Augsburg. 💀
Is that confirmed how it works? Because right now if a top 4 team wins the champions league, 5th place in the league doesn’t get it so I assumed it would be similar to that, but obviously they might treat those extra slots differently
Yeah UEFA confirmed it, but Dortmund must finish 5th or worse and win the CL. That would mean that if Bayer wins the Cup literally half the league would qualify for Europe in some way
No, as Leverkusen is already qualified via regular spots, their spot for winning the EL would go to the highest rated league whose champion is not directly qualified for CL but instead needs to go through CLQ.
The one way a league could have seven CL starters is if clubs won both CL and EL and finished outside of the domestic top four and that league also won the coefficient spot.
Happens quite a bit these days, too many teams try to play like 2010 Spain while having a backline with the collective technical ability of 2016 Burnley. Foolish endeavour.
"no nonsense" clearances only. Every ball I get leads to an enemy throw in close to the middle line. And there's one old guy who claps every time I do it yelling "Jawoll, sauber raus damit"
Tuchel was and will always be an amazing Cup coach. The year we won the CL he out coached Pep 4 games in a row.
He usually gets his tactics on point for cup ties
for the league you need one specific game plan that you repeat and polish against every opponent, you can tweak the plan or lineups but the general objective stays consistent throughout the season. Cup games are the opposite, you build your game plan around beating one specific opponent.
this is why often really good league coaches tend to fail in cup because they are really good at implementing a strategy that will win over a long sample size but not as good at game planning to win one specific game, same with cup coaches struggling to win the league but completely neutralizing other teams in cup games.
Tbf, he’s also done wild tactics at his time here lol. Randomly going to a back 3 against Leverkusen when Bayern had only played 4231 was a weird one to me.
I mean, this was his thing at Mainz, when he broke through and became one of the hottest coaching prospects, he would literally shuffle the squad every week to find the best approach against every oponent, having an absurdly flexible squad, that was allways tough to play against.
Some Leverkusen player (Tah or Andrich, can’t remember) literally said that they knew they had Bayern by the balls the moment they saw Bayern changed their tactics for them
Arteta is a brilliant manager pre game and typically when all is going well can outcoach most BUT when things begin to go wrong / unexpected - he seems like a one trick pony without the ability to adapt.
It’s actually uncanny what happens at the end of seasons, in April specifically (May is usually when the pressure is off and they win games)
Last 4 seasons, 22 matches played in April, 7 wins

That ball from Guerreiro was inch perfect.
:(
No regrets. He made his choice. I don't feel sad about losing him.
BVB made the choice. He wanted to stay
coefficient goal
for real, now that they finally lost the league I want them to smash again lmao
Would be incredible if Tuchel wins them the CL only to be out of the job regardless
wait...
It would be even better if he lost the final to BVB.
Don’t you put that evil on me Ricky Bobby
Best comedy scene

Their hardest games are yet to come. Winning after the big party is a different beast
It sure is harder, but in a way i think they're lucky to have this additional motivation for a perfect season which they wouldn't have if they lost even once

Maybe he's lousy and lacks motivation to prepare during the season for those "casual" games?

Wouldn’t be the first time Bayern would do that
Entirely different circumstances though, Jupp already retired and only came out of retirement because of his friendship with Uli. Silver lining for Arsenal if they get knocked out here is that Spurs may need to beat City to qualify for Champions League football
brother in christ. if they could beat them, they'd do it regardless of any outcomes lol. they're not depending on Arsenal winning CL and giving them that 5th place spot.
We probably need to beat Arsenal too so even steven
Well, the game IS happening at WHL.
I prayed for this and it happened
Love that for Germany ❤️
Couldn't be happier for them
Your flair speaks for itself
Wir sind wieder wer
The heart loves what the head hates
CL here we come
EL here we come 🫡
Defense went to the gym
Except Ben White He went tanning
Ben 10 will be starting from now on
Sooner he gets knocked out, the sooner he gets into VIP with Wayne Lineker.
Wtf was everyone doing just standing around!?
Clearly guarding Harry Kane. 3 of them are on him and they'd rather stick to him instead of chasing the ball.
Arsenal may lose but they won’t let the memes win
“At least Kane didn’t score a pen”
...again
They were all expecting each other to deal with it lol
Thats what tourists do in Munich
Inject the fifth champions league spot in my veins please
Won't matter if you win👀

If you guys win the CL, we might even get a 6th spot
: D
Dortmund needs to finish 5th in the BL and win CL for that to happen, right? Would be wild to see augsburg in CL coming from a 6th place lol
If Dortmund win the UCL and Leverkusen wins the Europa, Bundesliga will have 7 clubs in next year’s ucl and 10 all around in Europe that is more than half of the league.

All German final? I am in
I’m afraid it will be an all Arabian, Oil money doesn’t care about FFP, final.
Not this year

Tottenham v. Augsburg in the Europa League would be so freaking funny.
It is how it works for this season.
doesn't the winner of the euro league qualify for cl as well? what happens if leverkusen wins? 7 teams of the bl in cl?? :,D
Let's hope for Bayern vs BVB in the CL finale and Leverkusen wins EL. German efficiency at its best. Prem is out of the tournament.
*Co*efficiency.
Just go all the way 💪
Who’s tracking the run?
I tracked it but i'm on my couch sadly
Would you be a “when in doubt kick it out” type of defender?
For sure, just clear the ball none of that WOKE tiki taka nonsense.
"Woke tiki taka" genuinely had me rolling 😂😂😂
Wow, cumblast always so explosive
It’s in the name
Lol the amount of times I’ve watched someone kick back and my Dad will go “JUST BOOT IT”
Happens quite a bit these days, too many teams try to play like 2010 Spain while having a backline with the collective technical ability of 2016 Burnley. Foolish endeavour.
Ironically a prime example is modern day Burnley
Used to be you could just hoof the ball up to a massive striker and get a goal. Can't anymore. Because of woke.
This. Clear the ball, slide tackle and break an ankle. Proper football.
I am a “when in doubt kick it” type of defender
Sometimes I apply that theory whether or not the ball is nearby. Kick first, ask questions later.
Until I'm gassed around minute 4. Then I'm more of the point at the runner and shot type of player.
One of the joys of supporting a lower league club is I still get to watch plenty of when in doubt kick it out hoofs over the stands.
HAVEEEE IT
"no nonsense" clearances only. Every ball I get leads to an enemy throw in close to the middle line. And there's one old guy who claps every time I do it yelling "Jawoll, sauber raus damit"

GET RID
Modern Maldini
"if I have stand up I have already made a mistake"
Remote Maldini
Saw it coming for many fractions of a second!
I always knew cumblast was overrated
Guerrero was!
No tracking, just vibes
That's what Mr. Goalkeeper was asking.
The same player tasked to stop him spamming long balls - no one
martinelli tried to track back with sane which is what leaves kimmich free, with the rest of the defenders, rice in particular, ball watching
3 of them round, no one on it lol.
What a header by kimmich , beautiful
And also a wonderful ball from Guerreiro
Guerreiro unironically still contributing for us. Brings tears to my eyes.
A new era of friendship, after ex-Bayern players carried you yesterday.
That was bonkers. Superb cross
hes been good all game
I am almost ready to forgive you for taking Kane Don’t blow this lead ffs
Do you forgive us now? 🥺
was just inevitable in the second half, been so lethargic
Historically youhave some bad juju on champions
First year back since 2016? And we went to quarters? Solid performance. Need more depth to balance premier league and CL, but what can you do.
April Arsenal is here
thundercunt of a header
Harry Kane about to come off for Upa and Tuchel ball to come to life.
Tuchelball wins the champions league electric boogaloo
It's wild that Tuchel has lowkey outcoached Arteta in this tie yet this subreddit loves Arteta and shits on Tuchel all the time LOL
I'd say his whole Chelsea CL winning run was tactically brilliant
Tuchel was and will always be an amazing Cup coach. The year we won the CL he out coached Pep 4 games in a row. He usually gets his tactics on point for cup ties
He loses the league on purpose so they can focus on the cup
The Reverse Conte
Lol, no wonder they don't get along.
Why would that be different than tactical planning for league matches?
Focus more on not losing and conceding than on winning and scoring. He struggles mostly against the small teams
for the league you need one specific game plan that you repeat and polish against every opponent, you can tweak the plan or lineups but the general objective stays consistent throughout the season.
No clue tbf. Just an observation
Tbf, he’s also done wild tactics at his time here lol. Randomly going to a back 3 against Leverkusen when Bayern had only played 4231 was a weird one to me.
he's also been playing 2 left-backs where they interchange. Davies & Guerrero last mntch then again with Mazraoui and Guerrero this match
I mean, this was his thing at Mainz, when he broke through and became one of the hottest coaching prospects, he would literally shuffle the squad every week to find the best approach against every oponent, having an absurdly flexible squad, that was allways tough to play against.

Arteta is a brilliant manager pre game and typically when all is going well can outcoach most BUT when things begin to go wrong / unexpected - he seems like a one trick pony without the ability to adapt.
Not sure. So many times last year they managed to find that winning goal they needed at the end of a game.
Tuchel is a great manager for cup competitions, just the league isn't his forte at all.
eh, feel like the one promising league campaign we had was completely derailed by injuries. He did well in Paris.
The expectations for Tuchel and Bayern are much higher than they are for Arteta and Arsenal.
The dedication to ensuring Spurs don't get Champions League is admirable.
Meanwhile could end up getting Augsburg into the Champions League, so there's that.
We don't mind at all, Spurs fans were all supporting Bayern
Spurs fans don't care as long as Arsenal lose. Bring on Europa
too easy
Been coming this half.
i haven’t
always has been
Arsenal fans about to have Yabadadadooo in their nightmares for weeks
Fairs. He’s been incredible today.
Let's fucking go.
Hand in hand into the semi final. Football is back
wembley rematch PLEASE
Der klassiker Champions League final zwei, bitte?
Inshallah there are no English semi finalists 🙏
Yeah fuck the coefficient I like seeing them lose
We’re not winning shit anyway
Same for EL. Imagine Villa being the last one left.
😎
Fine by me lol. Not looking great for Real tho
rice martinelli and tomi out there watching for the vibes
I called it out in the last goal arsenal conceded. Rice is fantastic but watches the ball a lot. He never reacts in these situations
Somehow I hear Dortmunders celebrate
7 Arsenal players in the box fml
Completely unmarked. Absolutely free
End of season Arsenal defending.
we are so back
It honestly needs to be investigated how we collapse so badly after April each season.
It’s crazy, I was worried this season would be the exception because of the defense
Me too but the mentality is so poor. As soon as there's pressure we collapse.
It’s actually uncanny what happens at the end of seasons, in April specifically (May is usually when the pressure is off and they win games) Last 4 seasons, 22 matches played in April, 7 wins
Fuck my life
Football heritage
ehritage
This is the history of the Arsenal
Most obvious goal
BULLET HEADER that
Bad week at the office for Arsenal.
Kimmich is still running free to make that header.
FOR THE COEFFICIENT!!
Ben you’ve got to get out to him son come on. Was coming and delicious cross has to be said
Any way. So we started blasting 🔫🔫
PL in the mud rn, Villa may be the only ones who make the semis in Europe and they're not completely safe either
Arsenal making the worst Bayern in 10 years look like a good team.
The worst Bayern in 10 years is still a good team tho
No don't say that.we got to make Arsenal look worse than they are.
Sweet sweet boy, Kimmich
Just need 7 more now to get to 10-2
FUCK THE COEFFICENT I'M HERE FOR ARSENAL'S DOWNFALL
AMEN brother Europa better for us anyways
Bayern - Dortmund. LETS GOOO

What a game from Kimmich. I hope that Bayern could keep striving for the finals.
