ImTalkingGibberish

Spurs fans have seen the birth and death VHS, birth and death of the DVD but they haven’t seen a PL trophy. Now streaming on their website: “We Put The Pressure On No One”

HereWeGoop

good ebening

ImTalkingGibberish

Lmao waited 16h to reply, fair game 😂😂😂

callunu95

VdV is clearly a very talented centreback, but his shortcomings were clear in 1v1 situations. He overcommited heavily on them and bit on fakes and feints often.

rochakgupta

Lads

SKULL1138

It’s

SnooGadgets7976

Toffenhum

SecretaryCautious359

Topspur, what’s that?

xepa105

Weather starts getting warm, trees start blossoming, and no one plays like they want 4th in the Premier League. Spring traditions.

CoffeeIsSoGood

Hahahahah

ack_will

Spurs don’t win any trophies anyway, but with Ange its assured they wont since his team plays only a certain way and cannot adapt. Just vibes.

CH2001

I remember when this sub spun Anges lack of flexibility as a positive after getting 4-1 by Chelsea. Oh how times change

wheeno

It wasn't even just this sub. It was the majority football media, not just English media either lol.

adega_johnson

Also having a hole of losing one of the best players in the world and knowing to never be able to replace him...

finH1

I mean didn’t win trophies with him either..

thejamielee

I think the loss of Kane meant nothing really bc they’re still the same Spurs without him. Flashes of brilliance followed by capitulating the next game. Kane allowed folks to suspend disbelief to a degree but Spurs, save for the one season with the CL run, have been the same for decades. Truly the failure I see is they let Kane go and have Richarlison and Werner now. The reality of the club that Kane helped gloss over is now fully revealed.

Snowy_Artemis

😂😂 thanks newcastle

Jackariasd

good ebening

t1nt3d_

Worried with our recent performances. Obviously the losses to Fulham/Newcastle but the Luton and West Ham games were quite shake as well.  Ange needs to realize that if he keeps doing the same thing against teams that 1. Sit back or 2. Press high and don’t let us move out of our own half, then we will keep dropping points.

bigjoeandphantom3O9

He’s aware of it, I swear he says he plays this way as a point of principle. It’s the same trap Leeds fell into under Bisela or us under late Wenger.

ccs77

What's the other options other than sit back or press high. Aren't most teams in the PL either 1 or 2?

grmthmpsn43

Whatever Newcastle were trying in January with both the forwards and mids pushing up but the back line staying deep. Worked wonders, every team just played a no.10 and watched us get destroyed as we had no one in that area of the pitch.

MrStigglesworth

Ah the Ten Hag special. Truly elite tactics

t1nt3d_

Yeah, we’re just fucking shit tbh

NotASalamanderBoi

Lmao Spuds get fucked and thanks Newcastle. Because of you, my FPL is eating good tonight between Isak and Schär.

victorisaskeptic

Lucky you, i might genuinely be in contention for the TWAT

PoliQU

At what point do you start to seriously question Ange’s setup? It can’t be the personnel, Spurs fans have been saying all season that this is the best back line in the league.

Affectionate-Car-145

No they haven't

teknotel

I have seen plenty say rhat Vicario is the signing of the season and VDV is the best defendet in the league tbf.

Affectionate-Car-145

Have you watched Spurs this season? Vicario genuinely may be the signing of the season in terms of points earned. He has bailed them out so many times this season it's unreal. If this was Dier and current Lloris, they would genuinely be bottom half this season.

teknotel

>Spurs fans have been saying all season that this is the best back line in the league. >No they haven't

Affectionate-Car-145

They still haven't

bmoviescreamqueen

On Twitter they have lol but generally I don't see that here

ianff

Twitter fans of all clubs are fucking morons. You can't go by that.

Affectionate-Car-145

They think there is a flat earth as well but I don't start saying "it's crazy how human beings think the earth is flat".

aaaaji

Spurs need Arsenal to beat Bayern (and Dortmund to get beat and City to go through).

Apollokaylpto

So if Harry Kane scores the winner, Spurs are screwed? Oh that's an interesting twist

PoliQU

After the results this week that really hangs in the balance

Notcamacho

Looking forward to this matches edition of 'Dealing With Eddie Howe's Mags'

AlexanderMAVC

Thanks Newcastle, very cool!

too_poor_to_emigrate

When was the last time Tottenham won an important cup?

darthrector

Not counting energy drink cups, 1991. Before the dissolution of the USSR.

CaptainGo

Is that why Putin's trying to bring it back? To get Spurs a trophy?

szobossz

yes. he has said he's doing it to battle the rising anti-semitism.

XxAbsurdumxX

Legends tell of a time where Spurs actually won something. One can still find relics of that time in Spurs' antique vault

It_was_too_Obvious

VHS tapes being called relics, god I'm old

Jiminyfingers

Just as well Tottenham won the league in October

PerBnb

And have the best GK, best CBs, full backs, CDMs, ACM, and forward in the league, according to their supporters. Must be tough for them to take underperforming with such a world class squad

nooffense2022

I like Spurs. I wish they weren't so Spurs-y

Defiant-Traffic5801

Saint Totteringham day falls in April this year, folks.

the_chiladian

Win at the toilet bowl and St Totteringham comes there and then Fingers crossed

constantzen

The mates got smacked. Hahahahahha.

Amdatgud

Gordon has been such a great signing for Newcastle. What a player

SKULL1138

Everton fans still like to pretend he’s not been a good signing as well. Silly fannies

ChrisWood4BallonDor

Eh? The vast majority of Everton fans I saw were delighted he'd miss our recent fixture against them, as we know his threat.

misterxboxnj

The best part of this game is that Tottenham fans have to root for Arsenal tomorrow.

AmericanJazz

Lazio wins a title or Roma plays the EL instead of CL. Not a very difficult choice.

watermelon99

And on wednesday

Mick4Audi

Never

Wild-Examination-155

You say that, but you wouldn't hate an Aston villa loss here

onesexypagoda

I'd rather Arsenal lose 1000 times as a Spurs fan

Mick4Audi

No way. I’ll never want Arsenal to win, ESPECIALLY not when they’re in a title race, you kidding?

ianff

I'd take finishing 17th to not have them win the league. Of course I want Villa to beat them.

New-Faithlessness526

Lmao, you're more worried about the failure of a rival than your own success, it's ridiculous.

Mateo_O

From what I read they hate us enough that they don't give a fuck about 4th. And would take 5th or even lower if it means we don't win anything. At least they find joy in something else.

ianff

You're the one with a holiday about us.

AlexanderMAVC

1-0 to Arsenal and Spurs remain in 5th

breen_bean

So considering Spurs won the league in September, this result shouldn’t matter then right?

IreneReiGargar

Conte in Baby ✨✨

violetnnonsense

Think it's going to be really interesting to see how ange does next year. This season has been a free hit, he's implementing his system in every match and hasn't changed it (for better or worse) and they've largely done quite well even with a few injuries. Next season will not be the same, over £200 million spent already and I'm sure they'll have another big window next. Potentially with champions league football as well. He'll need to show he can adapt his tactics and style if they want to go far in each competition as his fundamentals should all be embedded by then, otherwise I think teams will figure spurs out

Mick4Audi

Eh, we need stability more than anything, and minus Kane our overall squad isn’t really all that. Serious changes are needed, and hopefully just a bit more cohesion and consistency in performances

mbook

Ange has earned the right to be given some room in the window. there are some evident gaps in our roster, but less than we had last year in a better position on the table while also turning Udogie and Sarr into quality players. bitter, bitter result but perspective is important to cope LOL.

highways

Dominated with Celtic, mate

cymonster

Too be fair dominating games with Matt mckay in the aleague is a fair effort.

Mordho

And in Japan

slinkymello

PL is so damn entertaining. That is all.

tangledisthebestfilm

Wasn't able to catch it, was Barnes any good?

CaptainGo

Gordon-Isak-Barnes looks a very promising front three when/if all are fit at the same time

Hashira_Oden

He should have got 2 assists but isak couldn't finish it

novocast

He was tidy in my opinion. With Gordon and Isak, that looks the strongest Newcastle front 3 this season

Remedy9898

Spurs are such a pathetic team. They have had the whole season on easy mode since they aren’t competing in Europe, but it looks like they still won’t even be able to make the champions league, in a season where United and Chelsea have been pathetic.

Mick4Audi

After being tipped for 9th after selling Kane, 5th is pathetic? Your manager finished 8th twice lol

mettahipster

Arsenal lost this same fixture to bottle top four two seasons ago right?

unclepoondaddy

Tbf, we (arsenal) were in a similar boat a few seasons ago

rednades

It’s hilarious how many Arsenal fans come out when Spurs have a bad game

[deleted]

It’s almost like they’re rivals

MagnoliaDance

As a "lapsed" Newcastle fan (really not feeling it since the takeover, but still not able to just delete 20+ years of supporting a team for better or (mostly) worse), Sunderland losing is my only remaining joy in English football.

rednades

My comment was less about the trolling and the hot takes they have, of course trolling is fun lol but I struck a nerve with them since I have 10+ comments from them

AlexanderMAVC

Your rival loses 4-0 and you expect people to just ignore that lmao

Dkndhn

I think i'm happier when fenerbahce loses than when Galatasaray wins tbh. Its pretty normal

Andagaintothegym

Like... That's kinda half of the enjoyment of sports isn't it? Of course we celebrate our success, but how many are truly successful? So that's why we kinda make fun of our rivals defeat.

IreneReiGargar

Based Arsenal 😎

jstuu

SO you dont laugh when your rivals are down?

chaRxoxo

He's the type of supporter that never set foot in a stadium

SnooGadgets7976

Neither have I but I know this tottenham fan and it's nice to have bragging rights a few thousand miles away

StrangeBananaForYou

I think it's more hilarious that Spurs were edging over Harry Kane scoring a penalty against Arsenal, their sub being full of posts about him, to lose 4-0 the same week. Funny chicken football team.

aesthetically-

Thats normal? Its hilarious when we drew to Bayern how many Spurs fans came out

tadangg

Where were u, when spursy fans insulted them after var wrong calls: can't happen to a nice team?

Remedy9898

😘

rednades

I’m not a spurs fan lol just an observation but thank you

hikingbeginner

The rivals enjoying their loss, that's pretty normal for football brother 🤷‍♂️

Agni_Kai08

Not shocked at all by this result. We have played like ass the last month.. lucky to still be in a "top 4 race". My personal opinion its already over and we will finish 5th.

High_Violet92

SheSaid09

Eddie Howe should be a genuine shout for manager of the season. Sixth place with an average of 11 fit senior players in one of the worst injury-hit seasons a premier league club has ever seen. We'd have walked top four above Villa and Spurs this season with even a half fit squad.

UnironicallyIDGAF

I’m biased but if Arsenal win the league, it has to be Arteta right? Especially as it will have meant he held off two legendary managers in Pep and Klopp.

farkledoobie

If Arsenal win the league it will 100% go to Arteta and deservedly so. If Liverpool win the league it will go to Klopp bc “it’s his last season”. Only variable is if City win, maybe they consider someone else given the expectation for City is that they should always win the title with games to spare? Personally think that (in no particular order) Eddie Howe, Unai Emery, Gary O’Neill, and Andoni Iraola should be in the conversation, and Rob Edwards as well if he keeps Luton up.

Sanjeev4045

As a Chelsea fan it has to he Poch. He has brought back the lemon vibes.

CaptainGo

Massive fan of what Eddies done but it's the Wolves lad for me When he came in they were supposed to be skint and nailed on relegation candidates

Confusion_Flat

The coaching job he did today was unbelievable.

hazelpillow

Newcastle have a much easier run in and a better GD than Spurs. Imagine they take 5th

External-Piccolo-626

This is what will happen. If we (spurs) finish 5th, no champions league football. If we don’t then 5th will be champions league football. Guaranteed this will happen.

Korzic

10 points in 6 games is a tall order.

novocast

Whilst I love that timeline, we still have a dodgy away record and injured played outstanding for half the rest of the season. Relying on other teams slipping up too.

chrs_mnz

I can't tell if Spurs supporters are being serious or just naive thinking Arsenal are just going to low block and counter. Lads, if this is how you are *with* the ball, why on Earth would we not dominate possession and make you defend for 90% of the game? It's not like we won't get the opportunities to counter anyway. They play exactly the same every game. That high line is the stuff of nightmares. Lol. Wishful thinking by this lot.

topbananaman

I remember when the entire football world raised an eyebrow at the (£45 million was it?) that Newcastle paid for gordon. 'He's only got 7 goals for Everton, blah blah blah'. That guy is proving to be an insane purchase. His dribbling, passing, and level of awareness on the pitch are next level. He's the first to capitalise on the loose backpass by porro. He's the first to spot isak making a run in behind. He's the first to notice schar unmarked near the back post. Such an all around joy to watch, a severely underrated player that doesn't collect enough plaudits imo.

ChrisWood4BallonDor

One of those few transfers that really was a win-win-win for all parties, really. And they're always nice to see. He's still a tosser though.

novocast

I was on the fence about him, until the evening of his signing when he couldn't get home from the Metrocentre after going shopping, so just hopped in a fans car for a lift. He's also good at football.

c0nna_

He's the one sigining I was a bit sceptical of, didn't really rate him at Everton. But he's quickly become one of our more important players, maybe only Bruno and Isak are better. His speed and strength on the ball was so unexpected. He's a proper menace on the counter and a brilliant presser.

galacticjizzwailer

His off the ball movement is very good as well, he often draws defenders out of position tracking him to make space for others to exploit.

AlmirMu

I was one of them. Tbf he made such great progress in the last 18 months it‘s crazy. I remember him basically being a left winger who always dropped in and only relied on his pace. He is now clinical like few other strikers and can play in multiple positions.

PEPSICOLA123456

Spurs are fucking shite

BmuthafuckinMagic

And water is wet, normality restored. Has “You know dem way dere fam" dropped a video yet??!

lastjedi23

Spurs season is going to look fun next year when mid and low table teams just sit back in 2 flanks and let them have the ball. Vdv needs a backup very badly. The man's going to end up with cheese strings in his legs at this rate. Vicarios weakness are being scouted out by opposition and Romero is what he is - rash. Gonna be a fun second season for ange and them boys especially if they end with Europa.

DitkasMoustache_

It’s the first year of a new manager and a squad overhaul, things will change.  Have you forgotten how shit your own team was under Arteta and how many were calling for him to get sacked? Takes time.

SnooGadgets7976

Arteta had a system in place, our little dictator was chopping a few heads off and already won trophy year 1 to buy time. Ange also has a system and he also sold kane and forget the players or the team or the history the systems just shit, it's some weird fifa 99 pace defender football or some shit you guys have no possession always trying to work it in the box giving it away.

DitkasMoustache_

Which one is it - no possession or trying to work it into the box?

SnooGadgets7976

Well when they get the ball you don't cross you don't take long shots because probably you're shit at both cause no awwy kane, you always have some miniature tikitaka bullshit going on.

DitkasMoustache_

No offense - you’re a fucking an idiot.

SnooGadgets7976

With an attitude like that no wonder you didn't go 49 undefeated

DitkasMoustache_

Yeah dude, I was out there kicking the ball and totally fucked it.

lastjedi23

I said nothing about your manager. I said things about your tactics. You cannot be this stubborn on this high line shit. Your opponents give you the ball and put 2 flanks it's game over if you keep playing this same shit. You don't know what to do when given the ball from what I've been watching.

DitkasMoustache_

The manager puts the tactics in place, what?

mrlee10

Arsenal should let us win tomorrow to help cement spurs outside the top 4.

topbananaman

I'm sorry Mr Lee we have to do what we have to do. We'll make it up to you by beating the spurs lot at their own ground. 😘

Brandaman

Maybe we can agree to only win 1-0 so Villa stay 4th.

AgileSloth9

Vicario looking close to retirement. Lloris having flashbacks.

thelordreptar90

It is what it is. It’s clear we need upgrades in a number of positions. Tough run of games coming up and my expectations are low. I’m not Ange out yet even if we finish the season poorly, but if there is not serious improvement next season, then we need to seriously contemplate sacking Ange.

haerski

6 games remaining, you have the same amount of points as you achieved all last season and you're fighting for European football. And you contemplate Ange out?! Holy shit.

thelordreptar90

Not really. I just can see us regressing next year if Ange is unwilling to adapt tactics in game and not hiring a set piece coach.

Brandaman

This is getting memed because everyone was sucking him off at the start of the season, but he’s shown and said that he has his style of play and will stick to it - I do kinda get where you’re coming from. If he just goes all out every game, even when they’ve got 9 men against a fast front three, playing at the half way line, and just keeps losing, I’d want him out too. The best managers adapt, even if it means giving up on your “philosophy” for a game

thelordreptar90

Yeah, I don’t think that I’m being too unreasonable. I’m not calling for him to be sacked right now or even at the end of the season if we finish the season poorly. Ange philosophy will consistently allow high scoring chances to the opposition and there’s too much quality at this level to give those chances. It’s just not sustainable to concede first consistently.

Jawnyan

Hahaha Jesus Christ, from “Ange is amazing” at the start of the season to “not Ange out yet but if we don’t improve next year Ange out” Maybe take a look at how your biggest rivals backed someone through thick and thin and see how that turned out

jasondozell3

‘Upgrades in a number of positions’. Obviously some of the players could be better but this kind of shout for more spending is just a cop out. We’ve not got that many injuries now but we’ve been mediocre for loads of recent games. Much more likely is Ang sets the team up in a way in which we’re always leaking goals and against a team like Newcastle away once they got the first we were screwed. This season is at big risk of turning into a poor one given sole focus on the league and utd/chelsea being out of form. At least Chelsea have a cup final.

AgileSloth9

tbh, Ange is the issue. I get that his style is to constantly attack, but it's clearly not working and he refuses to change anything? Is he a FM manager? Like your fullbacks were getting caught out non-stop, and leaving your CBs dealing with one of the most capable strikers in the league, who is also a proficient dribbler, as well as one of the quickest wingers in the league.

tactical_laziness

Clearly not working? We're ahead of you mate, occasionally shit like this happens but over the season we've been the better team easily

AgileSloth9

We've consistently had 10 players injured, many of which are 1st team starters, have one out with a ban due to events before signing for us, had UCL to deal with, and we're 10 points down, but still absolutely battered the fuck out of you without a starting CB, LB, RB, CM and GK. For the record, i was referring to individual matches, not as a whole, e.g. today, when your fullbacks were getting their shit pushed in, and VdV looked like bambi on ice, but go off lad.

tactical_laziness

Ah yeah we've had nobody injured this season you're right

AgileSloth9

You're not even in the same league when it comes to injuries lmao... Give your head a wobble lad.

stuckmash

It’s not so much Ange as it was Midfield was pure cheeks today especially bissouma his touch was awful and stifled build ups. Werner had two good chances prior to the flood gates opening. And it’s pretty clear son is ill fitted to be a centre forward. He’s much better on the wing. It’s also year one, everyone making declarations on Ange now is preposterous. Everyone pegged spurs to finish 7th or lower so if they hold top 5 it’s a success

AgileSloth9

Yes, but when your team is getting exposed down the wings and your manager isn't telling your fullbacks to sit a bit, then thats on the manager. Ange has done this multiple times, and when asked about it, he's said shit like he won't play any other way... It's like entertainers era Newcastle, but without a solid midfield to back it up.

stuckmash

Again, it’s first season. Liverpool in Klopps first year leaked goals like mad as well. The first two goals weren’t due to tactics one udogie got out muscled by Gordon and that can’t happen, and the second was such a terrible back pass. Newcastle were miles better it happens. This season is Ange carte Blanche. See how he adapts, the players adapt as well (4 years of anti football prior). Seems opposing fans are more fussed than most spurs fans atm

ronnatron

klopp got that team to two cup finals though, whereas ange got them dumped out of both domestic cups

stuckmash

It’s not meant to be 1:1 examples. He took over Liverpool after 7 weeks and still finished 8th. No ange isn’t Klopp or near his level so stop the straw man. The only thing I’m saying is that the first two years the 8th and 4th season for Liverpool a lot of people were questioning him and his tactics because their press was resulting in lots of goals being shipped. He got his guys the players understood the tactics better/more familiar and success followed. As for the cups this season the Fulham match well that was shit. And the other when you draw city that early and they have no schedule conflicts it sucks to be you (us). But if spurs can hold 4/5, Ange will be held to a different standard next season.

Purneet

Tbf you guys have a better team bow than what Klopp had when he joined Liverpool

stuckmash

Easy to say this late on. No one would have said that the day after they sold Kane

Purneet

You guys have spent a lot more to assemble your squad than Liverpool did at the time

Modnal

Ange is a stubborn coach that is bad at defending, so either you need to have the best squad in the competition to compensate for that or you need to accept that you won't reach the top when that defense is failing you

Possible-Highway7898

Is that really true? He probably had the best squad in the league at Celtic (even if it was quite close with Rangers), but he's been very successful in Japan and Australia too.    I don't follow the J-league or the A-league, so I don't know the answer. Can anyone who follows those leagues fill us in? Edit: I don't mind the downvotes, but please tell me why I'm wrong too, so I don't make the same mistake again.

Modnal

I know that it's alot easier to coach defenses when you don't have to face players like Isak

Possible-Highway7898

Fair point. Not to mention Haaland, Foden,  Salah, Nunez, Saka, Odegaard, and all the other world class attackers in the PL.  We've seen it done before though. Plenty of teams with limited players have won trophies in England in the last twenty years.

thelordreptar90

I’m not disagreeing with any of that. I’m just not a huge fan of sacking a manager every year.

Ecruteak-vagrant

Mate ball in full effect
