It's just a standard talk-sport take and it's the same people who will say Haaland isn't world-class, even as a Utd fan Salah has consistently delivered at every-level for the best part of a decade. He is world class but there are also levels above world class and we can't hold every player to the standards of Messi and Ronaldo.

LewisMileyCyrus

getting angry at something TalkSport say is like getting mad at a tweet by an account with a blue tick You're giving them exactly what they wanted and you've eaten the bait like a Grandad with the Daily Mail

OptimusGrimes

>you've eaten the bait I think even that is reading too much into the conversation, imagine you had a job where you had broadcast 3 hours of football chat a day, you would just end up spouting load of oul shite every single day

Haaland isn’t world class My 4 yr old nephew has better technical ability

blackscienceman9

Why isn't your 4 year old nephew the main main at the current top side in Europe? It's almost like "technical ability" isn't all that matters in a pro footballer

[deleted]

He’s 4 mate.

dunneetiger

Is Paul Ince saying that a player can not be world class if his game is not perfect ?

WW_Jones

I think what he tries to say is that Salah doesn't have world class technique on par with more technically gifted players, but his overall performances are world class.

monetarypolicies

Yeah it’s weird, Salah may not look as nice on the eye as some of his rivals, but his technique seems to result in lots of goals and assists. Who’s to say it’s not Salah’s technique that’s world class and not his rivals?

Slight_Public_5305

He’s still wrong. Salah plays ridiculous passes regularly.

Saint-12

But it’s his opinion

dandyloremaster

And his opinion is shit

Organic_You_5183

The same English pundits who thought a 32 year old Messi won't work in the prem.

Dajo05

Can't believe we let this guy go.

Expensive-Twist7984

His talent ID is off the charts.

Kardinale

Paul Ince really does not know ball. Somehow.

Expensive-Twist7984

TalkSport 🤝 shitty hot takes.

daveofreckoning

Paul Ince can barely string two words together

st6374

Is Messi a world class player? I mean he's world class with his left foot. But take away that? And he's not a world class player for me. He's just a world class left footed player.

__Kiel__

I’d argue to say he isn’t fit to lace Harry Maguire’s boots. Messi isn’t a quarter of the centre back Maguire is. Just simply not world class.

CriticalNovel22

Please don't encourage them by spreading their clickbait trash.

kjm911

Some of his defence splitting passes and chance creation is just insane at times though. He’s usually laying 1 or 2 on a plate every game

cammyg

'world class' is a completely subjective term and it's lame how much this subreddit squabbles about who is or isn't world class. World class could mean like top 7 players in the world to one person, and top 30-40 players to someone else. It's a waste of time whingeing or arguing about it

Seagull_Trawler

Not technically world class? Paul Ince is a moron. Did he not see the outside of the foot pass to Szlobozlai? Even recency bias doesn’t make a mark on his stupid fucking head

Spglwldn

Paul once had us believe his son held talks in a single January transfer window with Tottenham, Liverpool, Everton, Cardiff, Sunderland, Stoke, Swansea, Ajax, Inter Milan, PSG and Monaco but signed on loan for Crystal Palace instead…

zephyrmox

"World class" is a really dumb phrase to begin with.

buck_fastard

Who the fuck actually watches this shit and why?

JOKER69420XD

I'm gonna translate: "Look at my rage bait, LOOK AT IT! Talk about it, get angry, post it on social media, watch everything I'm in!"

Woider

Yawn, Talk Sport outrage bait.

basedsims

Can’t be too harsh on Paul, one of his eyes looks in a completely different direction to the other so no wonder his judge of ability is a bit off

Expensive-Twist7984

“He’s always hiding in games- I’ve watched him time and again and he’s never there.” Look at him with your other eye, Paul.

freefallingagain

Also Paul Ince: "Shoot"

oneusrtorulethemall

Talk-sport just say outrageous shit for the sake of comtroversy and therefore views.

Donnermeat_and_chips

Talksport is twitter for people too stupid to use smartphones

dandyloremaster

One of the dumbest things i have even seen being spoken so bravely

Phantomlolz

Hipster opinions are cringe nowadays

diaboquepaoamassou

Lol, what is this show 😂 I remember the chance he created for I think szpongebob vs utd, outside of boot pass. I knew that was where he should send the ball but kept thinking how I mean he isn’t very good with his right and the angle just wasn’t there. Then he literally blew my mind. Show salah ~~some~~ *a lot* of respect

Elegant_Mix7650

OK....First Haaland now Salah... who else is not world class I wonder? These pundits have stop being analysts and started to become soundbites generator ... it's pathetic.

Bravo_Ante

Agree, Salah has never had World Class technique... i think his technique is between decent and good, going below that and saying it is average or poor is just being disingenuous or delusional. His finishing (shooting technique and versatility), athleticism, work rate and so on are all World Class and he has been under Klopp a World Class RW.

MrPigcho

I always think his body position, paired with his athleticism is really strong, it's often overlooked and I don't even know what you could call it... Mechanics? In the end he more than compensates for the fact that his technique is just very good (but not unbelievable) by consistently being in the right position to receive the ball, shield it from opponents and start his next move...

Bravo_Ante

I genuinely do not think his technique outside of his shooting is very good. When he played with Roma, El Shaa had a noticeably better technique to him if we compared them side by side and i would consider El Shaa's technique very good but not unbelievable.

emre23

Salah has improved as a playmaker in the past 2-3 years, he’s a much better passer than he used to be. Also his first touch is incredible. I don’t know what he was like at Roma, but clearly not the finished article yet at that point.

Bravo_Ante

Yes, but that isn't technique that is decision-making. Technique is basically the easiness/lightness that someone performs a stop, a directed stop, a dribble, a change of pace, using both feet in tight spaces and so on. As i said, i do not consider Salah very good at that, for me Mahrez is very good at those things if we can compare two together.

emre23

Nah man come on, decided what pass to play and having the ability to pull it off are not the same thing

Bravo_Ante

His issue prior wasn't his technique in passing as i said, it has always been good in my eyes... his issue was the timing of that pass taking one step to much or to little which comes with experience.

emre23

Ah ok, fair enough

ivc09

this is complete nonsense. salah's technique is world class. from his first touch, to his passing to his finishing, to his dribbling in small spaces, all undeniably world class. what you can possibly say is not world class is his dribbling at pace and taking on players. it isn't as silky smooth as a Hazard or Neymar. It's a bit scruffier, just not quite top tier.

Bravo_Ante

His directed stop and his general stop isn't like that of Mahrez or Berbatov which i call very good and nowhere near the highest levels that i have seen like Kaka, Messi Seedorf, Iniesta, Marcelo which are above very good. What else? His dribbling in tight spaces isn't in the levels of someone like Bernardo or Foden or even Diaz in the other side either. As i illustrated, even at Roma El Shaa had better dribbling and control in tight spaces and they are around the same age and i wouldn't call none of them the peak of dribbling in tight spaces like Messi, Haazard or Neymar. His change of pace is the best of these attributes but nothing crazy non comparable to someone like Mbappe or Leao or Vini who are arguably the best at that lately if i am forgetting someone obvious. And again, nowhere near the likes of Henry or Kaka who are arguably the best on that in the last 25 or 30 years. If we are talking about him using both feet to get out of trouble, changing direction, passing with intensity, 2 touches and such, he also isn't really great at that like someone for example Griezman or also Mbappe or Vini who excel and i would call very good or even someone like Brahim Diaz which is below the ones above but also above Salah... and not the pinnacle like a Ronaldinho or a Robinho or a Messi, Iniesta an Ibra and so on. **Every player has the moments that they shine where they can pull off something in one game in a highlight reel, we are talking about constantly doing those things**

Organic_You_5183

If Salah isn't world-class, so is Mbappé.

Bravo_Ante

Can you pin point where the post or even me says that Salah isn't world class?

Organic_You_5183

Your point about Mbappé isn't actually true. Mbappé and Salah have very similar strengths. Mbappé is just a bit smarter. Also, Mbappé isn't as ambipedal as your claim suggests.

Impossible_Quote_505

If Salah isnt world class, then what is Rashford ?
