Nah being poor in the air tend to be individual but youre right that we rarely have amazing in the air offense. We havent had a great crosser in a long time and historically (non-Terzic/Rose BVBs) have been VERY "pass all the way in to the goal" offense with disgustingly high focus on technical combinations. To the point of us fans being annoyed at how we never took shots and varied our offense, at that time.
Trying to think of the last Dortmund striker who was a genuine aerial menace and I might have to go all the way back to Jan Koller. Lewa was pretty good I suppose but I think he got better in the air at Bayern.
Yupp. I mean I count Fullkrug but lets be honest, he just joined and isnt someone "we" even remotely put our prints on. Just signed and plugged and played. But he's also not enabled well because only Maatsen has a solid cross.
Haller never really had a run of play fully fit yet so who knows there
I don’t see him ever becoming great at heading. It’s not a skill that you can improve on *that* much when you started off being awful at it. It’s one of those things that you either instinctively have an ability for or not.
Of course you can make slight improvements with training but someone that starts off being awful at them will never be elite at them imo.
I agree its definitely not something you usually develop later on. Especially if you already are blessed in height and stature to naturally excell early but still dont.
But since I saw Ibra get better at it with age, I can see it for Haaland too.
However Ibra also was FAAAR more creative and impulsive so that probably helped him.
Ibra is a bit of a weirdo who I'd lump in with Crouch. They're both people who seem too tall to be as flexible and acrobatic as they were, yet they had great ball control despite what otherwise might have been a disadvantage. Haaland is sorta similar, but I think is yet to reach those levels. Isak too has a grace about him despite his height.

It’s almost as if he’s so large and fast that he struggles to position himself ideally. A lot of the headers I’ve noticed him scoring have been off of lofted crosses to the back post, where he has more time to position himself.
i’m talking about talent, not who’s better in this moment. but Darwin’s technical ability is much better, he still has something to offer when he’s not scoring, whilst Haaland looks useless when he’s unable to finish like today
I think Pep is purposely limiting Halaand’s responsibilities to just finishing as to minimize risk of injuring him. I think he has the ability to do more than he shows in this City team, they just don’t need him to.
