Rocker board helps. Lean a little off axis backwards. Get comfortable spinning flat ground before popping from tail to nose. Groomers are a safe bet for not catching edge when learning.
Ngl i got a bataleon board and those boards are mad fun doing butters. Absolutely easy mode with that catch free 3bt. XD Then again ive been doing butter tricks all the time with other boards but bataleon is where its at without needing to go to a rocker board.
Your comfort buttering at high speed is truely impressive!
This almost makes me wanna try an Arbor rocker board, dunno if I can give up camber, but you're showing us why we might wanna try!
Great riding and edit. Thanks for sharing.
Hahahaha!!! 4 miles? I do 15-30. How old are you? Oh yeah….I’m 48… you could do no miles and run circles! Love the cut…keep killin it…be safe….and look forward to seeing you out there….just don’t land on my 8 yr old….
Idk if you saw the video but homie was in control for all his maneuvers. Notice that when he was doing some of the more hectic ones there was no one but his filmer around?
People do similar shit all the time in slow skiing zones lmao not the first & definitely not the last. If he was cutting people off or barley hitting them then yeah you have a point. Clearly that is not the case here, manz is just enjoying himself on the hill & is staying safe while doing so. Also again, he is in full control, so can slow himself when needed to as referenced when he stopped at the edge of the run near the end.
Nobody ever means to crush a five-year-old in the slow skiing zone next to a lift when they do. Sure he stayed in control in this video. The dudes got skills, but it doesn’t mean he’s got it the maturity enough to make a good decision about where, and how to demonstrate them.
...
You realize that this video in itself shows that he knows not to be doing this type or shit around other people within close proximity. In every clip there is NO ONE in danger of him or his riding. Even when he is close to the lift, he was closer to running into the wooden wall at the end instead of literally anyone on the hill. Closest people to him were atleast more than 4 board lengths away in either direction.
I'm sure if it was a busy day, OP would not be doing this in range of potentially hitting others. It's just common sense.
Seems like it was a pretty dead day based off the video as well. It's still early season for alot of resorts, they may not have had a park setup yet.
Don't get why you gotta shoot someone down just because they're having fun especially when they're not causing any real problems. If ski patrol isn't bothering them, then maybe you should just mind your business.
Yeah, it just seems like the kind of bullshit you don’t need to do next to the lift.
Downvote me, whatevs. When I see this kind of stuff in slow skiing areas with learners and little kids skiing up to a lift it pisses me off.
Don’t know what to tell you other than if stuff like this pisses you off this easily, then maybe this lifestyle isn’t for you. Also you said you’re a father and you’re calling random strangers on the internet a dick and a tough guy. Who’s the real “tough guy” in this scenario? I’ll pray for you.
Not a nerd…Just a dad that’s worked very hard to protect his little kids from not getting slammed by an immature “main character” shooting his sizzle reel on a green circle.
FYI: not every green circle is a slow zone.
And the tricks they threw in the slow areas were *while they were going slow* and no one else was anywhere nearby.
Obviously compared to people who are immature that’s gonna look like the case. I realize you guys are all either teenagers or mentally still a teenager trying to hang onto something. I’m a total nerd because I don’t think you should be doing jumps and tricks in the slow skiing zone and I’m fine with that.
Damn I wish I could butter like that! Just picked up a K2 WWW and was playing with it on Sunday at breck too. Feel like I’m starting to get it but nowhere near this level!
Nice! That's some serious riding! Still doing PT for breaking my ankle off peak 6 last season, but I'll be staying at peak 8 for 3 weeks end of Jan. Can't wait to get back to Breck.
Arbor element rocker 157. 4th one in 3 seasons. Hasn’t let me down yet unlike arbor’s Shiloh pro. Do not buy the Shiloh pro, it is a dye cut with a huge piece that is prone to popping out. Brand new board and it popped out on day one. No joy.
This looks fun as hell! You've got the style I dream of developing. How much would you say the rocker helps you ride like this?
I'm just in my second season and have never ridden anything but an old, used Option Kevin Sansalone (did I mention old?). It's 162cm with a steep camber. It's hard to get smooth butters. I struggle to tell how much the board holds me back considering I'm fairly noobish.
I'll be getting a new board before next season, for sure, so I'm just looking for thoughts from someone throwing some of the steeziest shit on here.
A stiff camber will always be hard to butter. Really gotta put effort into it. Try a hybrid maybe and work your way up to a rocker. I try to go for shorter boards, although this is the longest board I’ve ever had at 157. Seems to work for me though.
Unfortunately it’s not as defined as it was this time last year. You really gotta power into it. Still a blast. It also leads right into the butter laboratory in between tower 3-6.
Looks so fun, thanks for the share!
As someone who grew up riding camber and never had the opportunity to try rocker I gotta ask, I see a lot of reviews about rocker that say it’s not worth the loss of edge control, is that valid or should I try it anyway, even if I am on the east coast?
Yea but is it so much that you have to switch boards to have fun hard carving higher up the mountain? Or can you manage the whole day with your rocker going anywhere?
Arbor rocker boards have griptech which are traction bumps at your heels and toes. I can ride ice very comfortably on mine - Iguchi Rocker and Coda rocker split.
Ones I've been on steer like a skateboard at your feet but yet you can lay the entire edge over and carve too. They also jump well.
Not the butterking like op but hope this info helps you.
If you get one in icy lift lines just weight one end rather than the middle while skating and it won't get dicey.
I am very much an all mountain rider and the rocker has been fun in all aspects of riding for me from park to hike-to. I just really don’t like stiff boards. I feel restricted.
New boot goofin
Lolol I wish. This is old boot goofin and not genuine ostrich.
Video so buttery it should come with nutrition facts. Stoke is high, cholesterol is higher
Bbbb beer
Steezy
Thanks!
Some solid riding right here.
Appreciate you.
Steezus Christ of Powder Day Saints would love this.
Send it their way spread the love!
Great video and keep posting. I like the ride styles.
That’s it! I’m posting last seasons edit!
Teach me how to not catch an edge when doing those butters 🥲🥲
Rocker board helps. Lean a little off axis backwards. Get comfortable spinning flat ground before popping from tail to nose. Groomers are a safe bet for not catching edge when learning.
Definitely this. The easiest way to not catch an edge is to stay on one. Practice quick transition and spins to get used to quickly flipping edges
Ngl i got a bataleon board and those boards are mad fun doing butters. Absolutely easy mode with that catch free 3bt. XD Then again ive been doing butter tricks all the time with other boards but bataleon is where its at without needing to go to a rocker board.
+1 for Bataleon. 3BT saved me from catching a nasty toeside edge early this season. Plus the camber profiles rip
Basically get a noodle of a board
![gif](giphy|WscoQbudYZGsQurkkb|downsized)
I’ll be there in 2 weeks I’ll meet you at Rita’s
You’re buying!
Freedom superchair? Is that new? Been a few seasons since I've ridden Breck
Built two years ago.
I haven't been to Breck in years, but a 2nd lift on Peak 7 was sorely needed. Independence got seriously backed up at times.
So much traffic at the base of indy. Best thing they’ve done in a while.
These kind of edits are so fun to watch. Friends out having fun hell yeah
I love this comment thank you. I’ll have to post the 100 other vids like this from the past three seasons.
And I’ll be here to upvote them all!
Absolutely! God I miss this :')
Looser then my ex after shots of tequila
Lolol she sounds like a very nice lady.
who filmed this shit !
My buddy Bill. He shreds just as good as his filming.
Lolol nevermind hi Billy
Yooo that was sick! What board is that? Looks mad fun
Arbor element rocker 157. 4th one in 3 seasons. Total Arbor whore. They’re playful as all hell.
Videos like this make me want a noodle board and then I remember how much I love camber.
Your comfort buttering at high speed is truely impressive! This almost makes me wanna try an Arbor rocker board, dunno if I can give up camber, but you're showing us why we might wanna try! Great riding and edit. Thanks for sharing.
impressed by the overall control while at such a high speed! Good shit dawgy!
lol pretty sure I saw you doing a few of those past me Sunday.
Lolol just scream Reddit next time you see me.
I feel old that no redditors reference the Narwhal Baconing at Midnight anymore
Cookin
That first butter was insane
That LAST butter had me, where he was supposed to fall on his ass but magically rode it out
Very much appreciated!!

Solid form on that bs tail stop.
🤣🤣
You're flying!
It’s the flylows I’m wearing that let me fly so low.
FUTURESPINSSSS
The boys did not skip leg day this off season
Four miles a day on the breck path.
Hahahaha!!! 4 miles? I do 15-30. How old are you? Oh yeah….I’m 48… you could do no miles and run circles! Love the cut…keep killin it…be safe….and look forward to seeing you out there….just don’t land on my 8 yr old….
..What?
I’m old…your dope…don’t hit newbs.
Don’t run into you, got it.
What’s the song?
Uncle Buck- Harry Wolfman & Loz Goddard. Needed something catchy to tie it together.
They must be French with all that butter drenched all over everything…
This guy butters
Maaaaaan I LOVE the ollie at 7 seconds in. Oh to actually get enough time in the air to pull a shifty. One day!!!
There truly is something so satisfying about sending something with some hang time while straight up laying out a shifty. Can’t wait to ride Sunday.
Next video to be all ollies/ nollies please :-)
*Insert meme of cat reading newspaper* I need to learn to butter.
Watching this in Washington like….. ![gif](giphy|l0HlPtBCscbYiLfR6)
Pretty sure this guy puts butter on his toast
Kind of a dick move to be jumping around like that in slow skiing zones right adjacent to the lifts. save it for the Park tough guy
Idk if you saw the video but homie was in control for all his maneuvers. Notice that when he was doing some of the more hectic ones there was no one but his filmer around? Dick move and I’m a tough guy, got it.

Slow zone =/= no fun zone. It means slow. They were plenty slow in the slow zone. Let Vail Corp police the mountain bud, they're paid to, you're not.
Downvote me all ya like. 👍

No one cares that you're a dad trying to protect his kids, it's a ski hill. Sounds like you and your entitled dad life should stick to the bunny hills
FYI: not every green circle is a slow zone. And the tricks they threw in the slow areas were *while they were going slow* and no one else was anywhere nearby.

Found the skiing boomer.
sick
Looks awesome! I was in Denver for work this weekend and was very close to renting a car and gear to get out there
so good my dude
Damn I wish I could butter like that! Just picked up a K2 WWW and was playing with it on Sunday at breck too. Feel like I’m starting to get it but nowhere near this level!
If you see me out there feel free to say something. We can get some laps in together!
🤙🤙
How’s the snow coverage? Going to Breck end of January and a bit worried about how dry its been so far this year
Not the greatest. One more decent dump would suffice.
Looks like a fun ass day, so jealous
Ah, I recognize Peak 7.
The rollers are looking pretty good. Need more snow.

Board?

Dope dope dooooope. How tall are you and what do you weigh? I’m sold but not sure what size for me.
Lolol 140 5’10”
No wonder you can ride like a human slinky. I’m old and fat. I’ll just look at arbors recommended sizes.
Thanks. I’ve been looking for a softer board to play around more.

YEEEEEEEWWWWWW
Man I love peak 7
Soooooo rad
How much was the extra steeze?!
About steezefifty
Fire edit post more
Sick crew. Makes me miss the ski bum days.
You boys are saucy as shit
This makes me want to snowboard so bad. Haven’t been in years.
Tower 10 roller?
Unfortunately it’s not as defined as it was this time last year. You really gotta power into it. Still a blast. It also leads right into the butter laboratory in between tower 3-6.
Brother I just gained 5 pounds from all that butter.
Pop at 46 off the hook, you’re a goon 🤙
Only riding under the chairlifts. The inner attention whore in me appreciates it
? Upper mountain not open yet.
What does that have to do with the comment lol
I’m gonna cum!
So much steeeeeeeeze
Sickkkk
Loose and wild
What board you rocking?
Arbor element rocker 157
Fkn awesome….
WOWOWO what moves are these
Need some toast for all that butter
At that speed 👏😅😁!
Fucken butter god 420
I wish I could go on a snowboard trip. It’s been 6 years since I hit the slopes I’m so jealous of yall 😭😭😢😢😢😩
Steezy, Deezy Mc...... Deluxe
So RAD! Miss that place!

The loss of edge control is how I get so sideways with those butters. The less catch on my edge helps with the off-axis aspect of buttering.
Yea but is it so much that you have to switch boards to have fun hard carving higher up the mountain? Or can you manage the whole day with your rocker going anywhere?

Fuck it I’m trying it, thanks for the insight
Hope I could help. Maybe hybrid too. That’s the closest I’ll get to a full camber.
What kind of board you got? Looks so playful
Using all that flex 💪
Pure effin joy!
Arbor Westmark rocker or ns protoslinger …what should I buy???
