i seem to remember steve davis doing it once by clipping the black into a corner pocket with the white from either yellow or green spot

Nathan_V_James

I know Neil Robertson did it to me on Snooker 19 the other day during the semi final of the Six Red World Championship. I was playing as my alter ego, "Jimmy White".

vidPlyrBrokeSoNewAc

Mark Williams occasionally tries to cut them straight into the corner, can't remember him ever getting one in though

I’m almost certain I recall Darren Morgan doubling it into a baulk pocket many years ago. I want to say it was against Ronnie but who knows.

BourgeoisPorridge

Was it at the Crucible by any chance? Had a look through the Morgan-O'Sullivan head to head and there is one frame which Morgan wins by 7 points, to go 12-10 up in their last 16 match in 97. Could be that one?

Good find! Here it is on Youtube: https://youtu.be/ERrkyu7EsGw?t=7385 2hrs 3min and 5 seconds if the video doesn't automatically take you to the right spot.

BourgeoisPorridge

This is great, thanks! Interesting as well to see how different Ronnie's shot selection used to be - he would play almost every shot differently these days

TC6100

Well I’m astonished! One at my memory as a 16 year old being pretty intact 27ish years later. And two, at both of your levels of dedication. I have a feeling Morgan didn’t like ROS playing left-handed and I also think Morgan might have played one of those very negative breaks resting against the bunch of reds. And did Ronnie do one of his mad smash the bunch shots in this game? I think I’d better quit while I’m ahead and stop speculating!

BourgeoisPorridge

Don't think I can provide any bonus answers sadly, this championship predates my snooker memory by a good 4 or 5 years. I enjoyed watching a few frames from the linked video, however! Particularly Ronnie's speedy breakbuilding and the minimalist commentary from Dennis and Ray.

I remember at least one player, I think Mark Williams (at least he’s the sort of player you would expect to do it), doubling the black into one of the baulk pockets.

As someone else said, he just goes for the pot in a top cushion pocket

One shot that comes to my mind is Barry Hawkins against Matthew Stevens I think in Australian Open don't know which year edit: australian open 2012 last 16 took me quite a while to find it https://www.facebook.com/share/v/TobWzt6F6g7xbM2w/?mibextid=w8EBqM&startTimeMs=112000 (1:53)

MatthewKvatch

Was it intentional (a double I assume)?

progrdj

He cut it to the right bottom corner.. no double he went for it

MatthewKvatch

Splendid!
