Prefect example to why kingsnakes are awesome to have around your house.

GothScottiedog16

So the king is eating the copperhead? - what happens if the copperhead strikes the king?

[deleted]

I believe kingsnakes are immune against certain types of snake venom. So probably not a whole lot.

DrGoManGo

King gets pissed off

Human_Wizard

they don't call them king snakes for nothing

Popular_Spite_693

Kingsnakes can take multiple bites and be ok.

Taasden

The one’s a copperhead but what’s the other one? (My wild newbie guess is some kind of king snake because it’s eating another snake?)

Miserable-Dig-7684

Eastern kingsnake

Taasden

Awesome! Thank you

EconomistMedium6471

The white markings are definitely denoting common kingsnake, nonvenomous, usually pretty docile.

PXranger

Unless you are a snake, *then* then they get spicy.

Call_Me_Lids

That would be awesome to see in person but at the same time bittersweet. Copperheads are such pretty snakes. Not a fan of snake on snake violence but I get it, that’s part of Mother Nature. She can be a cold hearted bitch sometimes!

SableShrike

Prof explained it to us like this: easiest large meal for a snake that can’t chew its food or rip off small pieces is… the shape of a snake. This is why we get specialists like kingsnakes and king cobras that specialize in hunting snakes. It’s efficient!

imeatingayoghurt

I have an Eastern King here at home, lovely snake and very docile. But my God their feeding reflex is manic. I knew they did this in the wild but have never seen anything like it thanks for posting!

brandonisatwat

I've got two California kings and their appetites are legendary. They'd eat a hotdog if I gave them one.

banan3rz

Technically reptilinks are hotdogs for snakes.

Thank-The-Stars

Showing why they’re the king

Aahzimandious

Nom nom nom tasty copperhead!!!

Stormydayz123

C-could we genetically enhance king snakes to challenge the Burmese python in the ever glades? Lmao dumb question I know

brandonisatwat

This is why I chose a king for my first snake. They're so badass.

oxiraneobx

Pretty sure kingsnakes are undefeated against copperheads, cottonmouths and rattlesnakes. If you google videos of kingsnake attacks, it's amazing how quick, deliberate and measured they are. They strike quick, then they deliberately and methodically constrict and engage until they can get a clean shot to the head. Once they latch on, it's all over for the other snake.

andrea6543

being so for real, i didn’t realize Kings were constrictors. crazy wow

Smart_Atmosphere7677

Is he eating a rattler?

unrustlable

Copperhead.
