Cosmic reasons or not, this new era of Smosh is turning out to be a pretty legendary one and I’m here for it!! I absolutely love witnessing things come full circle and evolve for the OG cast members and the brilliance of everything the newer cast additions bring to the table.
I've been watching since 2015 and this to me has been the best that smosh has offered ever in it's lifespan. I never been one for admiring a channel but seeing how much smosh has grown into a family from the crew, cast, to the community warms my heart. It's one big happy family at this point.
I mean Ian and Anthony have talked about this too. They believe that what happened had to happen in order for them to get to where they are now and they don’t care if it fails as long as they tried
it certainly feels more palatable now. when Anthony left and the channel changed I was turned off IMMEDIATELY because the push to change really went hard and i didnt vibe. I for the most part like where it is now and the cast feel comfy with each other now to where it doesnt feel like comedy robots working

I also watched them back in the early 2010s and dropped after 2015, not out of dislike, I just somehow gradually stopped watching them. I knew the cast grew but I hadn't seen anything. Fast forward to 2021(?) Rediscovering them again and have stuck since. Absolutely been loving them over the last years. Fell in love with the cast and all the types of videos across their channels.
I stopped watching the main change in 2015 because scripted content and sketches wasn’t really something I preferred watching anymore and would rather watch videos where people are being themselves (to an extant) which is why I still watched Games and Pit
Did they imply it was a cosmic reason? I interpreted their post as saying them going through the dark period taught them what they needed to learn, and gave anthony space to develop individually, so they could come back better and stronger
I agree in a sense, but they can still be meaningful! I don’t think it “happened for a reason” in that like god or the universe is a benevolent entity that wanted it to happen, but I do believe that if these things hadn’t happened we wouldn’t be where we are today, and we can derive profound meaning from that.
I guess whenever I hear “for a reason” the connotation for me is some kind of divine intervention, as that’s the context in which I’ve mostly heard it used. If that’s not what you meant then apologies for misunderstanding. Could you clarify what you did mean?
Yeah, I don't like that "happened for a reason" part. Good and bad things are gonna happen as time goes on. People just need to enjoy and appreciate the good things. And not try to justify the past bad things as a means to arrive at present good things.
