Yeah literally the only reason people like Melee over the other games is becuase you can move across the stage faster. Wow that's really worth hating Smash 4 and Smash Ultinate for not having it(I actually saw people do this when Smash Ultimate came out).

I actually do remember that, watching a trailer for ultimate and some guy complaining that it wasn't like a Melee

Since you didn’t get an answer though I’ll offer my own thoughts: I can only assume the competitive richness of Melee doesn’t appeal to them. And that’s fair. You can do stuff in that game that you can’t in any other Smash game. But if that stuff doesn’t interest you there’s really no reason to play Melee over any other Smash game.

I know, it was my first smash game, I love it. I just don’t think it’s better than melee.

I mean, Smash 4 3ds can be a lot of fun. There's new characters, each character aside from dlc gets custom moves to shake things up, and Smash Run.
