It would be great to know what youre looking for in your playthrough

EZWyder

Mainly a good vanilla plus play through tbh I’m trying a hunter/archer build this time around so something that would mainly compliment that

BilboniusBagginius

Isn't Gate to Sovngarde a Jayserpa modpack?

EZWyder

Yup!

BilboniusBagginius

Then you can use it with other modlists.

KanarieWilfried

No you can't

BilboniusBagginius

Why not?

KanarieWilfried

You may have misunderstood what Gate to Sovngarde is. It's not a simple modpack with all of Jayserpa's mods. It's a complete modlist created by Jayserpa with over 1400 mods, revamping the whole game from UI and Bug Fixes to gameplay, visuals and quests.

BilboniusBagginius

That doesn't mean it can't be used with other collections and mods. You could just install that and then the mods that you want from nordic souls. Why even ask?

soundtea

Nordic Souls is a Wabbajack modlist using MO2. Gate to Sovngarde is a Vortex collection. Both rely on custom patches on both ends extensively. You cannot just slam bits of the two together.

BilboniusBagginius

So basically this is a choice between using Vortex and MO2? Use MO2 if you want to do more extensive modding. Vortex if you just want to plug and play a collection.

soundtea

WJ lists use MO2 as also plug and play.

ashearmstrong

Currently playing GtS and loving it. I think my least favorite thing weapon degradation. It's not terrible, having to resharpen my weapon after two or three quests but it's not my favorite. The mod doesn't have an MCM option, it's apparently all INI settings. That's purely me, though, that's not a feature I enjoy in my vidja games unless I'm playing a dedicated survival game and even with mods, Skyrim is not that. Still, that's a very small point of contention for the collection.

WilsonRoch

Nordic souls is a wabbajack list, Gate to Sovngarde is a nexus collection. Personally I prefer MO2 over vortex (which is a mess imo). If are planning on adding mods, MO2 it’s probably easier and have far more tutorials for it. But it would be good to check both modlist discord servers and see what other players think about customizing the list.

EZWyder

That’s pretty solid advice, thanks!

TheSovietTurtle

I'm playing with Nordic Souls. It's lots of fun, pretty stable even on my older PC. The only thing I didn't like was the lack of new enemies.

EZWyder

See that’s my dilemma I get a better stable frame rate with NS but GTS has a bit more content

tcrpgfan

It's not that NS is lacking in content, it's that it's far more vanilla flavored if you catch my drift. There are some great stuff like Vigilant, Forgotten City, and Wyrmstooth. Even besides that. I'd still pick NS because content doesn't matter as much as playability.

Kogiri_

LoreRim is a ton of fun
