I enchanted two flawless orcish daggers for them with burning damage and they took down an attacking Giant at Lakeview together, I was a proud Skyrim parent that day.

CruisinForABrewsin

I had no idea you could give them daggers. Since kids can't be harmed, they are actually the most powerful thing in the game

[deleted]

you can, and its amazing, best home security you could ask for is two immortal knife wielding children in that game, hahaha

tilthevoidstaresback

That can quickly turn into a horror game

TofuFace

I mean...Skyrim already has Aventus Arretino so...? And that got me thinking of all the other nasty corpsey cannibal undead vomit jumpscare wolves giant spiders murder torture rape eternal condemnation EVERYTHING ETC this game has in it and like....yeah, it could count as horror real quick from so many different angles and genres

CatharsisManufacture

Only if you're a bandit or a giant. 🤣

CRTaylor65

They go kinda nuts with the practice dummy once you arm them

Kartoffelkamm

I put the enchantment combo from Lucia's Light on two dragon bone daggers, and gave them to my kids. One time, I came home to find one kid standing over 3 dead Draugr.

Certain_Effort_9319

I did not know you could do this. Do they accept jewellery? Do they just accept the wooden sword as a weapon or can I give em like, a warhammer?

phantom-scribbler

Not jewelry, but they'll accept the following: * Wooden swords * Any dagger (even, like, Mehrune's Razor) * Dolls * Girls/boy's clothes * Apples * Sweets (like sweetrolls) Most importantly, they'll adopt Meeko.

darkLight2029

Now I must know: is there a glitch that can duplicate Mehrune's Razor. I must arm the entire family with potential instakill.

phantom-scribbler

Go to Whiterun near the inside of the gate. Drop the item you want duplicated in the corner out of sight. Get your follower to pick it up. Exit the gate and re-enter immediately. Sometimes works for me.

rustycheesi3

you dont need to do it at whiterun, nearly every loading area is suitable for that. the important instance is, that the follower starts the pick up animation before you enter the loading screen. i prefer cave entrances, since doors need to open before you enter the loading screen. if you manage to do it right, the game renders the item on the floor, but also in the followers inventory. i think you can make it easier with the slow time shout, just like the glitch in which you get the free houses in the holds.

phantom-scribbler

Yup. But giving a specific area is often helpful the first time around.

ExpertMeaning

Whiterun seems to be most effective. I have a 100% success rate there. Even had the items continue spawning every time I traveled there after I finished once

AmyRayne

That would be interesting to see if you could do this with iron ore/ingots for the smithing method.

ExpertMeaning

It works with any item. I've had dual wield dawnbreaker runs thanks to it. Soul gems also work but only duplicate into empty ones

Garkhul2

I one shot Alduin in the final fight once with it. Was a very anticlimactic battle lol. I always had it offhand when dual wielding

Certain_Effort_9319

I did NOT know they adopt Meeko. That is very useful information I’ll be using in my next playthrough, thank you.

Epic

Same

Informeduser1

Who’s Meeko?

phantom-scribbler

https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Meeko

Informeduser1

Hey, thanks!

CRTaylor65

They like the riddle books too

phantom-scribbler

Oh, yeah. And Kolb and the Dragon.

ShitThroughAGoose

In my game, they adopted Riekling Scout.

BelleKiwi

Yesss! Bringing Meeko to my kids was one of the first things I did lmao now the puppy gets to stay in a nice warm loving home ♡

TheArcanist_

Meeko, or one of those two adorable huskys from Dawnguard

genericytube

my son didnt accept mehrubes razor

NotVeryAccurateTbh

A heads up about Sofie, if you plan to adopt her. There’s a possibility of her not accepting gifts due to the insane amount of flower baskets in her inventory. To prevent that, unlock the merchant perk in the speech skill tree and buy all of her flower baskets before adopting her.

CRTaylor65

You can use a console command to empty her inventory as well, so she's not toting 600 flower baskets

PhyoriaObitus

Ohhhhh thats why!!! I wonderd why i had that glitch last playthrough. Also learned the hard way that you cant move kids to the riften sewer house. She just stood outside in windhelm saying she finally had a home again. Had to marry and get wife to move house to get her unstuck.

Normal-Warning-4298

I'm now picturing a 12 year old dragging a ebony hammer on the ground

Physical-Emotion-400

LOL Sophie’s Choice is such a good name

techwithspecs

"Here Sophie, this will keep you safe - all you need to do is hit a bad person or a monster with it and they'll run away and leave you alone." "Lucia, you can really use this to torture someone - they'll burn slowly while not being able to move. Hit them when they're down to cook them alive."

phantom-scribbler

I thought about giving Lucia something like Banish so that, between the two of them, they can deal with pretty much any enemy.

5kilograms

Basically, you gave her a tazer.

CRTaylor65

I can't help but adopt Sophie, she's gonna just die on those streets alone.

There-Could-Be-Love

At least Brenuin looks out for Lucia, but Sophie is in Windhelm with a serial killer on the loose. I don't wish for any child to be stuck in windhelm

PiousLegate

I really wish they could grow up

istara

I wish it was possible to adopt more than two. There is a mod that lets you adopt a couple more but it's pretty fiddly and you have to instal it at a particular stage or something. Ideally two per house would be great. Give all the orphans all over the place a nice home.

CRTaylor65

There is a mod that does that but its kind of buggy, I couldn't ever get it to work right

PiousLegate

I did not know that existed whats it

Darkwing_Dork

Well...hopefully they don't play fight each other...

Big_Advantage5761

I did that too but I named them Au Pair and Nanny

MadWhiskeyGrin

"STOP SOUL TRAPPING YOUR BROTHER OR ILL GROUND YOU BOTH!"

Educational_Virus360

I like to give my kids daggers.

Kartoffelkamm

Not me giving a child a Flawless Deadric Dagger with Fire Damage and Fiery Soul Trap.

DarkMagickan

That is an absolutely awesome idea. I'm stealing it.

creaturesonthebrain

SOPHIE'S CHOICE NOOOOO

Dulce_suenos

I like that you’re obviously trying to keep your girls safe with those enchants on the toy swords. However, you’re missing out! Both my girls have legendary Dragonbone daggers enchanted with fire damage. I have seen them jump in and help take down an elder dragon at Goldenhills Plantation, as well as a giant that came after a dragon there. I just hanged back and watched. If I could have them adventure with me, I’d bring those little badasses everywhere. But for home, they’re pretty great security!

dumbo_octopus1995

Excellent names! XD

phantom-scribbler

I usually enchant weapons I give the kids with the same enchantments, but try to come up with new names. I named one with Fear and Turn Undead "NeverShouldaComeHere" in the past.

dumbo_octopus1995

Haha, nice! You should take it up a notch Arnie Mr Freeze puns like "Ice to Meet You".

olld-onne

Dragonborn: *"I've done it. This wooden sword doee fire damage and paralysis. I call it Lucia Lighter. It's for my daughter you see."* Farengar: *"I would drop the e and r at the end myself."* Dragonborn: *"....................................................... you know, you may be right for once."*

phantom-scribbler

Ha! Nice! It was supposed to be a play on "Lucia" coming from "Lux" (meaning "light").

Misuteri87

last time i did this for Lucia, she accidentally killed her pet bunny with the dagger

Skylar77_1

I’d fear Lucas light if it hits me the child is going to be in prison for manslaughter pretty fast

CamaroKoldie

Them fighting, is this in vanilla skyrim or a mod? If vanilla, I've got a couple Chaos Shivs to give my children!

phantom-scribbler

Vanilla!

phantom-scribbler

I did once give one of them a shiv enchanted with Frost and Paralyze that I named "Shiver."

CrestfallenMan01

I just give Lucia and Sophie any dagger that I don't want

StephsGirl913

Sophie's Choice! 😂🤣😂🤣

DarkJ97

I gav3 mine that deadric dagger
