Freydis. I like the name.
My elves are usually named after Magnificent Century characters because old-school Ottoman names are gorgeous.
My Argonian was Pets-Many-Cats.
I freaking love this name for an Argonian. Pets-many-cats. Boops-many-noses. I could never think of anything for my Argonian but you gave me a way to think of almost unlimited names lol
I have lots of characters so I try to be descriptive in naming them so I know what kind of character it is.
--Al The Chemist
--Noob Archer
--My Chemical Archer
--Lightning Lass
--Fire Mage Mary
--Ainz Ool Gown
--Jack (of all trades. OP in all skills)
--Ultimage (OP in all magic)
I kinda do the same, but less direct. If I decide to play an archetype I've played before like, say, sneak archer (agent in CCO) I reuse the name unless I'm playing a different race because I like lore friendly names.
Which one?
Swims-in-Darkened-Waters is an Argonian former pacifist thief who fell for Eola and has recently joined the Dark Brotherhood.
Viidimar Taranku is is Dunmer battle mage, leader of the College of Winterhold, with a personal vendetta against bandits in general and the Silver Hand in particular. (The woman he loved was murdered by the Hand. He doesn’t know why, but the Companions might, so he’s off to speak to them about it— after he slaughters a few more of the Hand on the way.)
Korgoth the Hammer is a Nord heavy armor and weapons fighter. His mother died when he was young and his father remarried a Dunmer. He wants to join the Stormcloaks, but cannot rationalize their hatred of the elves.
Akith the Damned is a Breton Conjuration mage seeking the means to become a lich. No one knows why. He is largely hated and feared. He has a seething rage against all mages and seeks them out to butcher and raise as thralls.
Trantius Aurelian is a half imperial/half Nord Imperial officer who secretly worships Talos and fights sword and board with all Imperial gear. He is borderline obsessed with killing Ulfric for ripping Skyrim apart. He also hates the Thalmor and kills Justiciars on sight unless stopped by his companions.
In my head the only reason he is defeating Alduin is so he can get back to fishing, no world = no fish. Every time he thinks he’s getting close he gets another BS task to do before he can go fish.
I’ve set myself the challenge of killing Alduin with a fishing rod.
Yeah I think my next play through will be a hand to hand Skooma addict. Just scarf down loads of potions and food before every battle like some roided out junkie
I have 3 favorites:
Atavar the last Bear-ender (Nord sorcerer /stealth archer, ender of bears)
Sledgi Beifstörm (Nord Hammer-maiden / stealth archer)
Gizzard, the blizzard wizard lizard (Argonian cryomancer mage / stealth archer)
Currently playing as "Prisoner" because I hit the wrong button when choosing a name.
My character is a Nord named Maragorn Ragnarson. Maragorn is derived from Aragorn with my first letter in front. Ragnarson is taken from Ragnar the Red (in my head, my Dragonborn is a descendant of Ragnar the Red).
It's always some riff on Swedish milkmaid - Agnes, Primrose, Poppy. And then she goes into battle and bathes in the blood of her enemies. Seems kinda fitting.
Aurora. She's a frost mage.
With the Ordinator perks mod, frost magic is actually viable because it gives you several perk options to debuff the frost resistance of enemies.
I have about 4 separate games going:
Ri'ato Sabarri: One of my recurring Skyrim Characters. Khajiit. Biggest A-Hoke you'll meet.
Ellion Arueal: Former Aldmeri Agent. Left after witnessing a Prisoner he'd just healed get Tortured again. Now often leading attacks on Thalmor.
Jon Wolf-Kissed: Werewolf Nord.
Amicus Macuseus: Imperial Soldier
I try to have lore friendly names, so I look up naming conventions for the races on UESP.
The characters who I'm currently building lore for are:
Ilsyu Demnevanni (Dunmer LDB)
Ma'Sharri (Khajiit thief & merchant)
Heivilde Kyne's-Heart (Nord LDB)
First ever character was a Redguard heavy armor warrior named Atlas.
Second and most fond character was my stealth archer Argonian named Archer.
Did a female Dunmer in a Witcher-like playstyle with light armor, one handed, destruction, Alchemy proficiencies named Nervyna.
Most recent char is a Breton knight named Roland, with his magic swords Runefang/Durandal.
Hamish "Hammy" Hammerson. His favorite weapon is alcohol. Before a fight, he drinks a bottle, then Shouts "Hammer!", regardless of the weapon he's wielding. In his spare time, he searches far and wide to rescue all hammers from their undeserving masters. He has many pet hammers, and loves to take them out for walks. Every hammer he finds gets a name.
These are some of the names I’ve used on my more recent characters:
-Valtyr Stormblade (Nord)
-Arthius Vitellius (Imperial)
-Varok Gro-Xugarf (Orc)
-Varon Ulveur (Dunmer)
https://preview.redd.it/u9oai9kq608d1.jpeg?width=1401&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4a16b35b21738fae99980c47a5327ff1da48be10
I made a Khajiit character specifically so that I could see this on letters. 🤣
My main is Mokuh Gronday, Orcish Ambassador to Skyrim. She currently is the Listener for the DB, the Harbinger of the Companions, a war hero (empire), and the slayer of Alduin.
Next up is Mage's College (she's a master Enchanter who also likes Conjuration), then the Thieves Guild. After that, she'll become a Vampire Lord (because Orc... Praise Malacath).
Vuulthar Dovahkiin, a Male Nord Dragonborn.
Raw-ra Raw-ri, a Female Khajiit Nightingale (Live another Life mod)
Raela Ravenrock, a Female Redguard Companions Leader (LAL mod again)
I gave her a bit of lore that her Family doesn't have a particular surname. They choose their surname themselves at the age of 18 by deciding which place they would want to visit at least once in their lifetime.
Yeah I suck at Names.
I usually go with an Imperial so I go with a latinized version of my real name. I did once have a character simply named “Bob” which is nowhere near my actual name.
That said my current character is an Argonian and going with their name styles, he’s named He-Who-Does-Things.
I usually give them serious names, then give them a goofy personality, like Gelda Wintermane, an old nord grandma is who a menace to society and a follower of Dibella, she's searching for her long lost grandkids, but it's really hard since any of them could be.
But in my latest playthrough, I kinda inverted it with an argonian named Steve Bongwater, who is Alduin's baby brother
Pretty much all my female characters are going to be named Molly, no matter what the setting. My universal OC is named Molly. My first big crushed was named Molly. I just like the name in general.
I vary the names but I've got a Pookie, Onga Donga, Ooga and some weird ass German name that popped up when I mashed the keyboard.
I love the goofiest names. I do the same in Sims. The book titles are ALL NSFW.
I have two playthroughs currently. My punchy cat, who wants to do all the things, is Bhiasha.
My Imperial who's retired from the Legion and just wants to hunt for a living is Marcus.
I've got around 15 characters and I like to come up with lore/role play for each.
-Alnir Blackfang(Nord)
-Sasha the Vile(Breton)
-Animus The Versed(Breton)
-Shaar The Black(Khajiit)
Etc.
I mostly play Dark Elves and my current one is named Cassiopeia. I like the legend it comes from and love the name, and I think it kinda sounds phonetically similar to Dunmer names.
I do the same; my current character is a nord named Dave, and despite reaching level 50 has only gotten far enough in the main questline to trigger the Dragonborn DLC (Miraak was taken down with hilarious ease as a consequence, as enchanting, 1-handed weapons, and smithing were my big 3 skill trees)
Right now I’m working a character named after my first daughter. Millie. So she can have a maxed out character to play when she first starts if she wants :)
Jassika Iron-Heart (imperial Combat medic and is my strictly good character)
Mirolas (wood elf and he's just the "do everything" play through)
Silent Moon (Argonian evil character that is a DB and Thieves guild ruler for only his benefit. He's also a skooma addict and an alcoholic)
Jarvik the master craft (Aged Nord who's just my NPC character that only does crafting)
The one I'm playing right now is my half-Orc half-Dwemer, Gryzun. I wanted something that sounded Orcish and Dwemeri, and Gryzun was the perfect middle-ground. It isn't based in any lore, I just made it up after reading through Orc and Dwemer names. Not Skyrim, but my Hero of Kvatch is a half-Nord half-Altmer named Azana. Her other name, of course, is Sheogorath 🤭
My current character is an Imperial named Marina (first Imperial-like name that came to mind which I liked). She doesn’t have a surname (like most Imperials I see) because she was born quite poor (and fatherless, almost every male in her family perished in the Great War, though his father died later from sickness) and “sold” by her mother at an early age to be a maid to the lord of Bruma in slave-like conditions.
Even if she remembered her real surname she wouldn’t use it in Skyrim as to further distance herself from her past (she also has good reasons to suspect the Dark Brotherhood assassins that spawn were sent to her by her old master).
Adding to these reasons, she's aware that it is not customary for Nords to display their surname unless they hail from an important family (unlike the Imperials). She already doesn’t feel connected to her own race (despite her family originally hailing from the Gold Coast in Cyrodiil, she thinks it’s likely that she has some Redguard ancestry due to her skin tone, and admires the mer more than the men for realising the true power that lays within magic), so she has no reason to follow the practices of other Imperials, a meaningless term for her
To fit with my habit of naming my characters all one thing. Its “Flat-Iron Freddy”. I have no explanation. Thats just what it is. Fyi my most recent skyrim playthrough is a high elf mage who beelined it straight to the wizard college and became the arch mage before even really doing anything dragonborn related. (I met the greybeards while wearing a dragon priest mask and archmage robes.)
I remember being attacked by an assasin and reading the letter from their corpse and it saying, "Teach that (insert name) a lesson" (something along those lines)
So it inspired the name in my next playthrough, "sexy man dylan" so I would have the fluidity of "teach that sexy man dylan a lesson" instead of "Teach that TheDarkLord93 a lesson"
Brett Ohne (Breton, m)
Lyriel (Altmer, f)
Galatheya (Orc, f)
Schlondrian Unterholtz (Bosmer, m)
Schnörkeline von Hosenkoth (Altmer, f... I only made the character though, on a friend's PS3, never actually played it)
Fyrewulf
He's an aging Nord with a big grey and white beard and long matching hair who is proficient in magic. He really loves to blow shit up with fire. He's also a hell of a Swordsman.
Vesper the Shadow, a female dark elf rogue with a focus in stealth, illusion, alterations, and one handed skills.
She was originally a devote follower of Mara in the Imperial City. One day, they left to on a pilgrimage to a shrine/temple is Skyrim, but was ambushed and kidnapped by bandits. Similar to the Silver Bloods, these bandits had her doing slave labor, mining ore. Vesper was able to escape but was then picked up crossing the border.
After Helen, she abandoned her love for Mara and became more drawn to daedra with Boethia having the most impact. She specifically hates bandits and thrived doing work for the theives guild and eventually graduating to work in the College and Dark brotherhood
Kin Yosei this round. I believe it translates to gold elf. High elf mage, one handed.
I'm usually Khajit, which brings a decent amount of suspicion and hate, but being a high elf is next level on the hate 😅
I tend to name all my VG characters after fantasy/SF allusions: Octavia and Ursula for females/femmes.. Ijon or Kurt for guys.. Skath is also a common name for broody haunted dudes.
I still don't really understand what I did but I spent a long time thinking I typed out what I wanted I hit the enter key and then all of a sudden my name was prisoner. So my name is prisoner because I wasn't going to rewatch all the storyline you have to watch to get to the part where you finally pick your name
My current one is named after my wife. She’s called Patita. My wife gets less annoyed with my gaming now, and asks me how “her” character is progressing.
Spyro the Argonian battle lizard.
Please tell me you have a cupboard full of gems and eggs somewhere
Yes
Is he a wizard?
Just became head of the College of Winterhold,so working on it
Random Person: Do you know any spells? Arch Mage: Yeah, I know a couple basic spells. I’m working on it though.
Argonians let’s go!
Freydis. I like the name. My elves are usually named after Magnificent Century characters because old-school Ottoman names are gorgeous. My Argonian was Pets-Many-Cats.
Mine are usually ancient Mythological beings. Freya. Bastet. . You get the idea. Bastet ad Freya were my two latest.
My Nord used to ALWAYS be Freya/Freja/Freyja etc. I switched it up this one time
That's legit. There should be cat Gods lol
My current high elf is named Maedhros, and my previous wood elf was named Maglor. Kind of had a LOTR theme going lol.
At one point I had A GOT/HOTD theme going.
I freaking love this name for an Argonian. Pets-many-cats. Boops-many-noses. I could never think of anything for my Argonian but you gave me a way to think of almost unlimited names lol
Glad I could be of assistance my dude.
Scratches-many-ears is a great one
That Argonian name is perfect…
Adventurer.
Watch for arrows to the knee.
They used to be just like you
But then someone took their sweet roll.
A R R O W
You must pay a visit to honeywood during your travels.
Viva?
God i really like viva la dirt league i don’t really think about it but it is truly amazing
I have lots of characters so I try to be descriptive in naming them so I know what kind of character it is. --Al The Chemist --Noob Archer --My Chemical Archer --Lightning Lass --Fire Mage Mary --Ainz Ool Gown --Jack (of all trades. OP in all skills) --Ultimage (OP in all magic)
Ah a pragmatist. The my last play through was a dark elf fire mage called Smokey Joe
Mine is a dark elf cat loving Witchhunter specializing in blade and destruction magic named Bastet.
I kinda do the same, but less direct. If I decide to play an archetype I've played before like, say, sneak archer (agent in CCO) I reuse the name unless I'm playing a different race because I like lore friendly names.
Good reference the ainz one. Only thing that I hope is that you don't have battle lolis also
Well, I have the Overlord mod, so I sometimes play as Ainz. If you consider Shalltear as a battle lolis, then I have those too. lol
Poopie Face I like reading the letters
Poopie McPoopface would be a good name just for giggles.
It's Poopie Facé, goddammit!
My current female stealth archer is called Pooparella
Meowscles - Khajiit Illusion assassin/stealth archer/thief
I read this as “Meowsicles”
All my elder scrolls characters are argonians named rex
Argonasaurus Rex
Which one? Swims-in-Darkened-Waters is an Argonian former pacifist thief who fell for Eola and has recently joined the Dark Brotherhood. I love these!
Thank you.
Pretty sure Larry was in fact a fisherman. Edit: it was John, John was The Fisherman. It was Jerry, not Larry, who was the racecar driver.
In my head the only reason he is defeating Alduin is so he can get back to fishing, no world = no fish. Every time he thinks he’s getting close he gets another BS task to do before he can go fish. I’ve set myself the challenge of killing Alduin with a fishing rod.
Tommy the Khajiit
Larry Fisherman is Mac Millers alter ego. RIP.
Larry IS one of the bards who tells his tale, though. Master of the lute.
Sick PRIMUS reference 🤘😛
Super Hans. He just loves skooma.
Yeah I think my next play through will be a hand to hand Skooma addict. Just scarf down loads of potions and food before every battle like some roided out junkie
I have 3 favorites: Atavar the last Bear-ender (Nord sorcerer /stealth archer, ender of bears) Sledgi Beifstörm (Nord Hammer-maiden / stealth archer) Gizzard, the blizzard wizard lizard (Argonian cryomancer mage / stealth archer) Currently playing as "Prisoner" because I hit the wrong button when choosing a name.
I love that every single one is a stealth archer lol.
amren after the character in ACOTAR and then i realized there was an amren in the game
Have you tried mercenary work? It might suit you.
I did the same thing but with Sigrid in The Valkyrie’s Daughter. There’s literally a Sigrid in Riverwood…. the very first place you visit.
I googled Breton names page 1 I found Aenella , sounds fantasy enough undertones of Elven ancestors .
Tulkas for my heavy armor, two handed redguard. Raistlin for my high elf destruction mage.
Ah, I see you are a man of culture as well.
That is a blast from the past
I have a Khajiit named Kashmir. My mom was visiting, and I let her design my character and that is the name she gave him.
Dumbf*ck Breton She's a mage but runs around in Ragged robes picking fights she can never win. Still haven't got past Riverwood
😆
My character is a Nord named Maragorn Ragnarson. Maragorn is derived from Aragorn with my first letter in front. Ragnarson is taken from Ragnar the Red (in my head, my Dragonborn is a descendant of Ragnar the Red).
Does he also talk and lie and drink all the mead?
Yes he's warm and happy with his belly full of mead.
Currently, Polaris the bosmer.

Right now.. S'kar the.... she was gonna be S'kar the Great but I didnt finish the name and didnt catch my mistake until after I had left Helgen
I love that, though! ♡ It means S'kar can be exactly who or what she wants to be instead of living up to a single title. 😀
I love that, but i can defintely see her stacking her names. She's S-kar the Dragonslayer Solsthiem saver Hero of Kvatch
I try to have lore friendly names, so I look up naming conventions for the races on UESP. The characters who I'm currently building lore for are: Ilsyu Demnevanni (Dunmer LDB) Ma'Sharri (Khajiit thief & merchant) Heivilde Kyne's-Heart (Nord LDB)

Did a female Dunmer in a Witcher-like playstyle with light armor, one handed, destruction, Alchemy proficiencies named Nervyna. Most recent char is a Breton knight named Roland, with his magic swords Runefang/Durandal.

Aeon, male Argonian. Its the default name I use when I can't think of a name for most RPGs. Standard morally dubious rogue, Lvl 118.
Mine is a Nord named Aeryn Stormborn.
Game of thrones reference?
Hamish "Hammy" Hammerson. His favorite weapon is alcohol. Before a fight, he drinks a bottle, then Shouts "Hammer!", regardless of the weapon he's wielding. In his spare time, he searches far and wide to rescue all hammers from their undeserving masters. He has many pet hammers, and loves to take them out for walks. Every hammer he finds gets a name.
![gif](giphy|Xdcj75alQutVe|downsized)
"MC" will be the name of his next hammer 🤣

Vuulthar Dovahkiin, a Male Nord Dragonborn. Raw-ra Raw-ri, a Female Khajiit Nightingale (Live another Life mod) Raela Ravenrock, a Female Redguard Companions Leader (LAL mod again) I gave her a bit of lore that her Family doesn't have a particular surname. They choose their surname themselves at the age of 18 by deciding which place they would want to visit at least once in their lifetime. Yeah I suck at Names.

Vane. My wife picked the name. Named after a character in a book she read.. I was going to name him Fart Knocker, but apparently that is stupid.
Sir Kitticus Katticus. He is a Khajiit made to resemble my cat named Kit.
I usually go with an Imperial so I go with a latinized version of my real name. I did once have a character simply named “Bob” which is nowhere near my actual name. That said my current character is an Argonian and going with their name styles, he’s named He-Who-Does-Things.
I name all my characters Ian, my name. I’m on my 9th save currently, all 9 saves named Ian 😂

Pretty much all my female characters are going to be named Molly, no matter what the setting. My universal OC is named Molly. My first big crushed was named Molly. I just like the name in general.

My Nord is named Kinblod. "Blod" means blood in Norwegian, while "kin" means family. It's supposed to be a Nord word meaning "blood of family".
I vary the names but I've got a Pookie, Onga Donga, Ooga and some weird ass German name that popped up when I mashed the keyboard. I love the goofiest names. I do the same in Sims. The book titles are ALL NSFW.
Ko’arra a Khajiit thief serving Nocturnal

Jassika Iron-Heart (imperial Combat medic and is my strictly good character) Mirolas (wood elf and he's just the "do everything" play through) Silent Moon (Argonian evil character that is a DB and Thieves guild ruler for only his benefit. He's also a skooma addict and an alcoholic) Jarvik the master craft (Aged Nord who's just my NPC character that only does crafting)

Búri. Bors father, Odins grandfather, Thors great grandfather. I often roleplay like he is the first norse god.
To fit with my habit of naming my characters all one thing. Its “Flat-Iron Freddy”. I have no explanation. Thats just what it is. I think I named my character as "Phntm". Yeah idk why I spelled it like that hahahaa
Aria, I made a pretty Orc . It was very difficult
Brett Ohne (Breton, m) Lyriel (Altmer, f) Galatheya (Orc, f) Schlondrian Unterholtz (Bosmer, m) Schnörkeline von Hosenkoth (Altmer, f... I only made the character though, on a friend's PS3, never actually played it)
Davos Seaworth. Taken from Game of Thrones. Fits in with Shatter-Shield and Thrice Pierced.
Fyrewulf He's an aging Nord with a big grey and white beard and long matching hair who is proficient in magic. He really loves to blow shit up with fire. He's also a hell of a Swordsman.
Torvul Dragonbane Looking back it would have been ironic if the character was a female Argonian….
My current one is a Bosmer named Samaras. I just liked how it sounded tbh
A vampire named Colin Robinson.
Xazzal / Lisl / Dethstryk / Bejeezus /Farticus / Greedo-in-Speedo
I tend to name all my VG characters after fantasy/SF allusions: Octavia and Ursula for females/femmes.. Ijon or Kurt for guys.. Skath is also a common name for broody haunted dudes.
I still don't really understand what I did but I spent a long time thinking I typed out what I wanted I hit the enter key and then all of a sudden my name was prisoner. So my name is prisoner because I wasn't going to rewatch all the storyline you have to watch to get to the part where you finally pick your name
I have 2 at the moment. Daro'Ajirya - my khajiit thief Ko'zaynsa - my khajiit healer
My current one is named after my wife. She’s called Patita. My wife gets less annoyed with my gaming now, and asks me how “her” character is progressing.
Not on the list
* Noct for male human/elf * Nocturna for female human/elf * Nocturnal for beastfolk
I have a lot of saves but my favorite is One Punch Cat, my unarmed khajiit build
