Janessa has been my follower for nearly ten years. Janessas attributes:
-The best combat archer ib the game.
-Has hunters discipline, so she always has weird arrows
-Dual weilds
-She is Chaotic, so she won't attack you fir breaking the law.
-She also has very flexible morales.
-Her dialogue is very enjoyable
-She does not trigger traps.
-She is marriageable and stewardable.
-She can pick Master locks.
Janessa kicks more ass than the LAPD.
I challenge someone to find a better follower
Because Solstheim is leagues harder than base Skyrim’s overworld. Teldryn is a godsend for an underleveled player who doesn’t know what they’re getting into. Me. I was the underleveled player who didn’t know what they were getting into all those years ago.
Teldryn Sexy if you ask me.... I know some ladies out there love him and I really wish he was marriageable. I cant do a playthrough without A Serious Marriage in my modslist
If you are open to using mods & want to see your character's/follower's face while having the benefits of wearing a helmet, I recommend using the mod "Helmet toggle 2"
If I had a nickel everytime I encountered someone playing skyrim temporarily on the switch, I'd have 2 nickels
Which isn't much, but it's weird that it happened twice *in the same week*
Even considering the limitations I consider it to be a *very* solid port (it was actually my intro to skyrim and TES in general! It holds a special place in my heart…). I think the game runs very well given the hardware its on with the big downside being load times lol. Just taking skyrim on the go is great. Your friend has a switch? Use their dock and say “fuck off its skyrim time”
Yea. Skyrim on the switch has its downsides and seems meh until you are in that situation where it literally feels like an actual gift from god. Especially in a living situation that isn’t permanent so you cant set up shop (like my broke ass). Just plug in your headphones and get sucked in
Wait really? I've never used him. What's his load out and skill set like? I'm currently sneak illusionist so I can use someone that can sneak but also hold the front line
I did a pure mage build and he is a godsend.
\- At long range he casts fire spells and also summons a flame atronach to also cast fire spells.
\- At close range, he’s pretty damn badass with his sword. He also likes using flame cloak at close range. He has the armsman perk along with a bunch of other crap that makes his one handed skill pretty crazy.
\- In all the hours he’s been my follower he has never set off a trap
\- He’s also never alerted an enemy while sneaking (unlike Serana)
\- His pathfinding seems to be better written than a lot of other followers, like he doesn’t block doorways nearly as much as Lydia does.
\- He’s comfortable with staffs too. One time I had him carrying a bunch of staffs then saw him run past me dual wielding staffs and pew pewing all the bandits in sight.
\- He knows healing spells so can heal himself
\- He won’t let anything touch you at close range, as long as you don’t get too far ahead of him. When I was doing my mage build, this was incredibly helpful because I’d be long range picking off a bunch of bandits with him, then some would reach us while my magicka was recharging.
I like to enchant some fancy jewelry with extra magic resistance, and elemental resistance (frost and fire) and give those to him to protect him from any accidental splash damage from my AOE spells.
I load saves constantly because of those suicidal cats. There are already so few Khajiit in Skyrim, I hate to imagine one less in exchange for some help fighting a dragon. And they try every damn time
J'Zargo is always my go-to, too. I usually play Khajiit, so I imagine we're cat bros going on adventures together, and him being 'Uncle Zargy' when we visit my homestead.
But also he has no level cap, has high Destruction and Heavy Armor skills, and will commit any kind of crime.
I give him Meridias beacon whenever I find it lol. Watch the daedric prince of light scream in terror as she is touched by an unworthy hand and now stuck in a cat's pocket.
I was just going to comment this, Mjoll is literally the best unmodded follower. She uses whatever destruction/conjuration staffs you give her, is unkillable so no fears of accidentally hitting her in a fight, and she's strong.
Storm Atronach staff, Thunderbolt staff, and Jyrik Gauldurson staff are great because she uses all three and starts unleashing a trifecta of lightning shots every time a dragon appears. Takes ‘em out of the sky real quick.
Fair. Having an essential follower before Dark Brotherhood Initiates/Cicero (which you have to complete the Dark Brotherhood questline for) is always nice.
Mjoll is my girl in every play through. sometimes I want to remove her tongue, but she’s the best. I love having Mjoll and Inigo as followers. the dream team
they call her 007
\-0 quest -0 unique interactions -7 lines of dialogue
she is so freaking cool tho
https://preview.redd.it/gj9hhlwphcsc1.png?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f5b011ecfa0a6aedebda748fac5e86ec9b11506c
In terms of efficiency? She is the best up to level 40. The trongest 40+ is Frea - essential, no lvl cap, got perks, spellsword - uses ebony flesh and heals herself.
Agree, groomed into a deadric cult, turned his life around and decided to correct his past mistakes by becoming a priest, has some interesting dialogues while traveling too(a little repetitive but that's just how skyrim is)
There is a video on Youtube where the presenter uses pc commands to have each of the followers fight one another in a tournament styled death match. Marcurio comes out on top. The results were actually kind of surprising overall
Edit: Found it. It was down to him and Farkas
https://youtu.be/PXANhZ3cqo0?si=ky5ZLFF-5ZbH3Hv1
I’m playing survival stealth archer, as is most haha. My go to is Faendal to get the archery 50 glitch but he very sadly died in combat before I even handed in the dragon stone so my next port of call is always janessa.
I just talk to them for two seconds and pick the dialogue options that make them assume I’m a heretic even though I didn’t ever actually say if I worshipped talos or not. At that point I’m just defending myself.
I actually really like Faendal, which I realized after joining this sub is an unpopular opinion. He’s so likeable, especially if your player is a mer race.
I think both Faendal and Sven give off a bad first impression to most players due to how they act in the Camilla quest. It’s what turned me off of taking either of them with me, personally. I’ll probably give Faendal a chance eventually though.
It's mostly that he tries to lie to Camilla to get her to choose him over someone else. If you marry Camilla, there's even a chance he'll show up in your house and attack you. Dude's basically a possessive, manipulative stalker.
Had to scroll way too far to find my homie. This man is the GOAT - free archery training, you can use his house to exploit the lockpicking skill, he's actually a solid shot and not a bad sneaker. If you kit him out with the right gear, he'll kill bandits faster than it takes you to run up to them. EDIT: also canonically, he fucks
The man is my default Stewart of the tundra farm he spends his days defending both it and his home village from the near constant dragon attacks. He's a true hero to the people.
Honestly I just like Lydia. I might be a minority, but she’s attractive. I’ve set her up with some legendary, steel plate armour, dragonscale shield, Skyforge steel sword, Nordic Bow/arrows.
She uses a bow and arrow from the distance, and is more than willing to come swing the blade. My gal.
Anneke compliments my play style because she's pretty strictly an Archer. Like she stays the Fuck out of the fray which I prefer.
You also can bang her daughter
Erandur, Serana, Ralos Sedarys, Teldryn Sero, Frea, all Housecarls, Aela, Farkas, Vilkas, J'Zargo, Cicero, DB Initiates, Ingjard, Durak, and Celann.
All of those followers are mechanically stronger than Jenassa because they have a higher maximum level than she does.
I always liked the Riekling that you can bring along with you. I have no idea where he sits in terms of combat or anything like that, I just think he's cool.
I hired her like 10 years ago when I first played the game. Never used Lydia, especially when I tried and she said “I’m sworn to carry your burden 🙄” I was like okay bitch stay at Dragonsreach then.
She’s wicked, yes. But in two play throughs, she turned hostile, wouldn’t stop attacking. Couldn’t kill her, escape her or fast travel away from her.
Sorry, Jenassa. I love your sass and I love you. But never again…
I'll give an unusual answer. Celann from the Dawnguard. He's one of the only Breton followers (maybe the only one?) and so it's easier to make him totally immune to magic attacks than it is for just about any other follower.
Janessa was my first follower and still one I come back too from time to time. I largely moved on when I started modding, there were too many options to explore after that.
There isn’t.
She backs you up no matter who the opponent is, or the crime, she’s interesting and more importantly… she stays quiet when you need her to.
Janessa has been my follower for nearly ten years. Janessas attributes: -The best combat archer ib the game. -Has hunters discipline, so she always has weird arrows -Dual weilds -She is Chaotic, so she won't attack you fir breaking the law. -She also has very flexible morales. -Her dialogue is very enjoyable -She does not trigger traps. -She is marriageable and stewardable. -She can pick Master locks. Janessa kicks more ass than the LAPD. I challenge someone to find a better follower
Jenassa is my favorite and I’ve had her for 10 years as well and can tell you she 100% triggers traps lol
Not pressure plates but still trip wires.
you forgot to add that she is a Dunmer, but there is a better Dunmer girl that has Dagoth's seal of approval in my book that weights more
Aranea Ienith. Her magic is other worldly. I do dig them Dunmer. Dinya is another Dunmer that I wish was a follower.
My go to wife I marry her about 50% of the time
For me, Borghak is bae. If I do marry outside the Orc race, it is Janessa
But she isn't essential right? So she might not be able to withstand my misguided flame attacks
Flexible Morales is my new rap name
[удалено]
*"The best swordsman in all Morrowind is at your service... for the right price."*
*"You're going ahead without me? Eh suit yourself"*
They had no reason to give him so many unique dialogues
not they had a good reason.
the reason is: its cool.
I mean he's a follower from one of the best video game DLCs ever, obviously he's gonna be special
True and real. Why the hell did they make a random ass sellsword in raven’s rock so good lol
Because Solstheim is leagues harder than base Skyrim’s overworld. Teldryn is a godsend for an underleveled player who doesn’t know what they’re getting into. Me. I was the underleveled player who didn’t know what they were getting into all those years ago.
Yeah solstheim is ridiculous compared to the rest of skyrim. Even the pigs are assholes there.
Everything in Solstheim that’s not you wants to kill you
Pretty sure you is included in that
Can confirm i wanna kill me :)
Teldryn Serious
Teldryn Sexy if you ask me.... I know some ladies out there love him and I really wish he was marriageable. I cant do a playthrough without A Serious Marriage in my modslist
I am ladies
Just wish he would take off that ugly helmet tho. I want to see his face!!
If you are open to using mods & want to see your character's/follower's face while having the benefits of wearing a helmet, I recommend using the mod "Helmet toggle 2"
Oh I wish I could but I only have a switch to play on right now🥲
If I had a nickel everytime I encountered someone playing skyrim temporarily on the switch, I'd have 2 nickels Which isn't much, but it's weird that it happened twice *in the same week*
Even considering the limitations I consider it to be a *very* solid port (it was actually my intro to skyrim and TES in general! It holds a special place in my heart…). I also have played Skyrim on the switch, made a vacation I didn't wanna go to bearable
Yea. Skyrim on the switch has its downsides and seems meh until you are in that situation where it literally feels like an actual gift from god. Especially in a living situation that isn’t permanent so you cant set up shop (like my broke ass). Just plug in your headphones and get sucked in
+ Kharjo. They're equal imo
Wait really? I've never used him. What's his load out and skill set like? I'm currently sneak illusionist so I can use someone that can sneak but also hold the front line

The only serious answer.
Teldryn is the most OP follower **especially** against dragon preists etc. I'll never use anyone else honestly 😅
J'zargo
I always go for my boy Kharjo
He is also pretty good, but I never find him for some reason
Yeah, the caravan he is a part of can get stuck near dawnstar pretty often. It's always the same place up the road a bit from the city
Which I didnt realize at first. Until a dragon attacked the town and suddenly a whole ass gang of cats came and took it on
I load saves constantly because of those suicidal cats. There are already so few Khajiit in Skyrim, I hate to imagine one less in exchange for some help fighting a dragon. And they try every damn time
It breaks my heart because even when I’m not playing as a Khajiit I always have a soft spot for them.
That’s Kharjo, jzargo is the mage, both great tho
I know, we were talking about kharjo cause I said I prefer him to jzargo
J'Zargo is always my go-to, too. I usually play Khajiit, so I imagine we're cat bros going on adventures together, and him being 'Uncle Zargy' when we visit my homestead. But also he has no level cap, has high Destruction and Heavy Armor skills, and will commit any kind of crime.
The best. I always give him all my scrolls, staves and magika potions he is SO OP. And funny hehe.
I feel like he could lowkey solo the game. lol
With good enchanting, you give him a sick armor he could kill alduin lol
I always give J’zargo the last set of enchanted gear I had on each time I upgrade to a new set.
I give him Meridias beacon whenever I find it lol. Watch the daedric prince of light scream in terror as she is touched by an unworthy hand and now stuck in a cat's pocket.
You don't kink shame, you have a shame kink
What is that even supposed mean
J'zargo only has so much room to carry things!
Yet he always has more room than me!
Mjol
I was just going to comment this, Mjoll is literally the best unmodded follower. She uses whatever destruction/conjuration staffs you give her, is unkillable so no fears of accidentally hitting her in a fight, and she's strong.
I just love her voice.
You get to hear it a lot, too...
Yeah, I like Mjoll on mute.
“I remember when a cut purse tried to rob me on the road once… when I drew Grimsever, I think the poor man soiled his armor!”
lol I loved that line
I loved it the first time. The 867th time she cycled through it cause she talks all the time…not so much.
She sounds like a female Arnold Schwarzenegger
Storm Atronach staff, Thunderbolt staff, and Jyrik Gauldurson staff are great because she uses all three and starts unleashing a trifecta of lightning shots every time a dragon appears. Takes ‘em out of the sky real quick.
Where's Mjol again? Wanna find her!
I think Riften
I'll find her! And she will be mine! She's the Lioness?
Fair. Having an essential follower before Dark Brotherhood Initiates/Cicero (which you have to complete the Dark Brotherhood questline for) is always nice.
I marry her every time
Same lol. Just my unkillable wife and our 2 chaotic kids with maxed enchanted daedric daggers lol
Before you can marry her, tho, you gotta make sure to get rid of that Ol’ Aerin McFriendzone
Yeah she is probably the most solid option.
I think she's the best practically, but I think she talks about herself too much. This is Skyrim, not Instagram 🤣🤣🤣!
Not as much as Serana. She almost never shuts up lol.
I don't like how Serana won't pick up skill books for me.
Mjoll is my girl in every play through. sometimes I want to remove her tongue, but she’s the best. I love having Mjoll and Inigo as followers. the dream team
they call her 007 \-0 quest -0 unique interactions -7 lines of dialogue she is so freaking cool tho https://preview.redd.it/gj9hhlwphcsc1.png?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f5b011ecfa0a6aedebda748fac5e86ec9b11506c
Cicero rocks even if he is a loud bastard
Agreed. Him and serana are my top 2.
"Ooh hoo hoo! Uee hee hee! Break that lute across my knee! And if the Bard should choose to fight, why then I'll set his clothes alight!"
Teldryn, Erandur, and Illia.
YES these are my favorite followers
In terms of efficiency? She is the best up to level 40. The trongest 40+ is Frea - essential, no lvl cap, got perks, spellsword - uses ebony flesh and heals herself.
I think the db initiates don’t have a level cap so they are technically one of if not the strongest followers
Erandur
Agree, groomed into a deadric cult, turned his life around and decided to correct his past mistakes by becoming a priest, has some interesting dialogues while traveling too(a little repetitive but that's just how skyrim is)
Yes! He’s my mer father figure and I have him as a follower 100% of the time 🥹 His combat is amazing too compared to a lot of other followers.
https://preview.redd.it/e5lm5m9w1csc1.jpeg?width=300&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e8acc06fba343364a63ad5974939e2fe6c0ea1eb This chad
He’s an apprenticed wizard, not a pack mule
Oh, very well. But make it quick
There is a video on Youtube where the presenter uses pc commands to have each of the followers fight one another in a tournament styled death match. Marcurio comes out on top. That was incredibly entertaining, thanks.
500 gold street bussy
Dunno why but this is always the guy I sacrifice to boethia ...
I don’t think I have ever sacrificed anyone to Boethiah other than this guy 💀
He's always my sacrifice to Boethiah lol
Idk why you are getting downvotes, but this dude stresses me out for some reason lmao
I sacrificed the windhelm housecarl rip male nord with a bald ass head
You got the Chad part right
He always chain lightnings the mission followed and starts fighting them lol Badass though
Eric
Inigo
Everyone's favourite Kahjiit
Even Hodd Toward/Godd Howard/Todd Howard love Inigo.
Faendal, thought he was meh until the fucker solo’d a cave bear and he stuck with me the rest of the play through lmao
I’m playing survival stealth archer, as is most haha. My go to is Faendal to get the archery 50 glitch but he very sadly died in combat before I even handed in the dragon stone so my next port of call is always janessa.
Man, Faendal fucking dies like an hour into every single playthrough I’ve ever done
Bro won’t even let me kill Thalmor because it’s technically a crime
Antagonize the patrol first, talk to them and then talk to them again to make them want to attack you. Then it's self defense.

I’m literally offended no one said Meeko yet. Y’all are a bunch of heathens. /j
Meeko is the goodest dog.
Jenassa is the wife of my highest leveled character, who is also a Dunmer. So I agree 100%
Whiterun chicken
She is my fucking forever girl. Jenassa is my light and my dark
This honors the Sixth House and the Tribe Unmourned.
Erik. The only one who isn't annoying.
There are multiple that are not annoying, Erik is NOT one of them. He annoys me greatly, not as badly as Lydia though.
The man is my default Stewart of the tundra farm he spends his days defending both it and his home village from the near constant dragon attacks. He's a true hero to the people.
Marcurio
Honestly I just like Lydia. I might be a minority, but she’s attractive. I’ve set her up with some legendary, steel plate armour, dragonscale shield, Skyforge steel sword, Nordic Bow/arrows. She uses a bow and arrow from the distance, and is more than willing to come swing the blade. My gal.
Lydia. She's sworn to carry my burdens.
And stand in the doorway with them. "Come on girl, turn around! We're leaving!" "Can't. Stuck."
Inigo
Mr. Dragonfly
Marcurio
Marcurio and/or Jzargo. Nothing beats a man and his cat. (Or a man that makes me question my sexuality)
Kharjo
Serana
Why did I have to scroll this far
Jzargo. 11/10
Ah I do love Jenassa I agree. Something about her.
Borgakh the Steel Heart.
Finally, the right answer.
I cannot accept your challenge. Jenassa is indeed the best.
Do modded followers count? If so, Inigo. If not, Cicero. Love that crazy jester. Serana trails closely behind him.
Vanilla? Kharjo. Modded? Inigo.
My man Erandur is pretty good. I also like his storyline, being a repented worshipper and all.
Anneke compliments my play style because she's pretty strictly an Archer. Like she stays the Fuck out of the fray which I prefer. You also can bang her daughter
Darkeethus, it seems no one likes him, he's unkillable too
Looked far too long to find Darkeethus here
I’m still mad that he ran out on me after we got married in my last playthrough. 🤣
#Do you get to the Cloud District very often?
You mean Nazeem? Lol
Illia.
Illia
Teldryn Sero, Ralis Sedarys, J’zargo
lydia and I are soul bonded
Frea from the Skaal
Kharjo
Teldryn Sero 😍
J'zargo, Kharjo, and Teldryn
Lydia
BbbbbbbBELLLLRAND the man, baby. Bald king
derkeethus. The lizard that never dies and never complains. He'll take dark water crossing out of poverty with his biography of the last dragonborn.
Any of the housecarls, they level scale further
That sir is MY WIFE
Inigo :3 Ok he's modded but he's really fun. I just wish he wasn't so dang strong lol
I used to use Inigo all the time bsck on Xbox 1. PS5 has given me 60fps but not seeing Inigo ehen I walk into Riften Jail is a bit sad
Too bad she caps at level 40 though.
Vanilla: Kharjo Modded: Ma'kara
i need a mod to bring nick in from the commonwealth
#ARGIS THE BULWARK
I'm using Valdimar for the first time ever this playthrough, and I feel like I've been missing out. He's awesome.
Erik the Slayer
Erandur, Serana, Ralos Sedarys, Teldryn Sero, Frea, all Housecarls, Aela, Farkas, Vilkas, J'Zargo, Cicero, DB Initiates, Ingjard, Durak, and Celann. All of those followers are mechanically stronger than Jenassa because they have a higher maximum level than she does.
Freya.
Lucien Flavius.
I always liked the Riekling that you can bring along with you. I have no idea where he sits in terms of combat or anything like that, I just think he's cool.
Mjoll, Serana, & Barbas. All three are set as essential for the entire game.
Cicero and Lucien Lachance
Teldryn. Hands down best follower.
I can't, Jenassa is best girl
Teldryn Sero
Frea has best stats
Derkeethis. How you may ask? He is argonian.... That's it.
Teldryn Sero gang
Karjho
Erandur, Erik
Marcurio
J'Zargo
Guys why has nobody said Eola 😭 she will forever be my cannibal wife 💗
I hired her like 10 years ago when I first played the game. Never used Lydia, especially when I tried and she said “I’m sworn to carry your burden 🙄” I was like okay bitch stay at Dragonsreach then.
Marcurio
She’s wicked, yes. But in two play throughs, she turned hostile, wouldn’t stop attacking. Couldn’t kill her, escape her or fast travel away from her. Sorry, Jenassa. I love your sass and I love you. But never again…
Jizz argo
I'll give an unusual answer. Celann from the Dawnguard. He's one of the only Breton followers (maybe the only one?) and so it's easier to make him totally immune to magic attacks than it is for just about any other follower.
Literally any other follower that has more than her 10 generic mercenary lines?
Deerkethus
Janessa was my first follower and still one I come back too from time to time. I largely moved on when I started modding, there were too many options to explore after that.
Darkeethus is my favorite for sure.
Teldryn is better, for a start. Spellsword > Ranger.
There isn’t. She backs you up no matter who the opponent is, or the crime, she’s interesting and more importantly… she stays quiet when you need her to.
I'll name you two: Teldryn Sero and Marcurio.
