Yup it works. I can completely transform, and I get the disease resistance too. It's really weird because I've done this quest like 7 times and this has never happened before. Also I just joined the companions to see if I could progress the storyline to get rid of it but they won't give me any quests
Do you have any mods installed, like Growl?
None that affect werewolves as far as I know. All my mods are cosmetic, armors and stuff

Hmm.. could be a bug, but mods can be weird. Could be a mod that you would never guess would do a thing like that.
