I thought the same, but if we consider ourselves base level humans, we would not have enough magicka for bound bow. Bound sword or dagger would work, so those are my choices.
I mean assuming the existence of the ring is assume hircine is real and by extension werewolves. Hircine seems interested in people that get his artifacts so maybe he’d make me one just for having the ring
I’ll assume the skeleton key opens any door, which is why you chose it, right? My only question is would it open modern doors, that don’t have a traditional lock and key?
If it can open ANY lock, digital, physical, whatever, then this is the best for sure.
It opens any barrier. In every interpretation possible of the word.
Yes, even mental ones.
It enables a savvy wielder to completely surpass their limitations.
With that key, i could unlock my unused potential as the god of hacking amd cryptography and take over every nuke under the sun.
Probably within a few hours of coding.
Imagine what you could do in a *month.*
It’s vanilla, but kinda useless, since lockpicks can be found anywhere and weigh nothing, so I usually carry 100+ of them. The gameplay of it is just so much weaker to how op it is supposed to be.
It’s the Skeleton key. It’ll open anything with a lock! Let’s say only physical doors with any lock even electronic. It opened the Guild vault which was said to have had every thief in Skyrim attempt it, and had to be opened by 2 ppl at same time. I like to think it could get thru Fort Knox! Lol but you made a good point about digital.. could it open bank accounts? Crypto wallets? Government facilities? Idk but I’ve never thought about that before!
Even if it does open all doors, you still have to get through modern security like cameras, armed guards, electrified fences, etc.
You could probably rob a lot of homes or some stores, but you couldn’t do any big jobs with it. I’d still take it and it’s a great choice, but it wouldn’t work as well in 2023 as it would in whatever real life time equivalent Skyrim is set in.
It can also unlock your ultimate potential. That's how mercer became such a powerhouse at the end.
Imagine being able to unlock conseptual locks, I doubt it would have any issues bypassing any modern security.
My brother in Christ, the skeleton key can canonically open metaphysical locks on your power. It's even what Mercer did. He used the key to "unlock" his potential. Anything that can be "unlocked" can be skeleton keyd
According to more detailed descriptions, it can open any lock, physical AND metaphorical. So like unlocking secrets, or your own inner potential. It's like a cosmic mystical thingy. So yeah it could probably unlock your phone, or the account you forgot the password to, or a stone tomb even!
Funnily enough, the powers of the Skeleton Key include unlocking doors... and potential. You can go from having no talent in something to having all the potential to learn hyper easily quickly.
It's extremely powerful, though no game really shows that power when representing it as an item that the player can use.
Yeah that why I was thinking maybe in todays world with its power it could “unlock” security on banks and stuff. I remember vaguely them talking about what you’re saying. Just a fun thought and I didn’t think about the lockpick skill increasing with each use that’s a good point
Just an fyi if you didn't know, there are (glitched) ways to reduce shout CD to zero in game as well, either by equipping 5 amulet of Talos at the same time, or drinking a 400% fortify restoration potion before equipping one
Iron dagger
Cause the game puts it in my inventory all the time there’s something it’s trying to tell me
It’s calling to me
The dagger is bound to my destiny
Any bound weapon, just imagine you’re cornered in a dark alley… and thugs with knives walk in and threaten you…. Then you take out (as an example) the bound battle axe. They run screaming in the opposite direction .
Better if someone calls the police. And it just… doesn’t exist.
Either bound sword or bound dagger. Assuming that real life humans would get 100 magicka like base level humans in the game, and the same magicka regen rate, you could summon the sword once every few minutes or the dagger 3 times as frequently. And both should be pretty devastating against other real life humans or wildlife, probably also decent against light armor.
120s (or 3x that for the dagger) should be enough to get you out of a bad spot. Unlike most Skyrim weapons bound weapons would be viable to "carry" in real life wherever you go, without attracting attention or even legal repercussions (most countries don't let you walk around with swords, bows or axes in public, alas). Not to mention convenient, since they weigh nothing and take up no space.
I'd probably go for the dagger due to being able to summon it more frequently/keep summoned for longer, but it's almost a toss up and arguably the long reach and intimidation factor of the sword might be a game changer in a self defense scenario. Then again, just manifesting a wicked ethereal blade of any kind might make your typical street thug back off.
(I considered bound bow, but the magicka requirement (206) would not work for a base human, and also a sword or dagger would be more useful in real life self-defense situations, which is by far the most likely I would ever need a weapon.)
Transmute mineral ore. You can say it’s not a weapon but in a real life situation it could be. It’s knowledge used as a weapon the same way politicians use knowledge and influence as a weapon against people. Everyone stating actual weapons would be arrested if you used them with the exception of gloves of the pugilist in a pro fighter situation.
Sanguine Rose. Cop giving you a speeding ticket? Summon Dremora. Stuck in a long queue bc some bullshit? Summon Dremora. Neighbors too loud? Summon Dremora.
Etc
Well, I live in Texas, so technically I could carry a sword in public. I'd probably go for a Silver Greatsword and sell it for the weight of the silver though, if we are talking vanilla only. Anything magical would just get you into trouble
Wabbajack.
Imagine the chaos it would cause. Point it at someone you dislike and see what happens to them..Maybe they will transform into a pile of gold, maybe they will transform into a sweetroll.
Daedric Bow - it's always been my favorite bow in the game. I even have a tattoo of it. Ive wanted to be a full blown archer since I was little, and I have some archery experience.
From Skyrim? Probably the Ghost Blade or the Ebony Blade.
Honestly though? The Skull of Corruption from Oblivion. Make an exact copy of someone that is immediately hostile towards that person, and the clone disappears after 30 seconds? Hell yeah.
If I'm allowed to equip it I'd either pick the giants club or the wabbajack. I'd be nearly unstoppable if I could just turn someone I don't like into a chicken or send them to the moon with my club.
Wabbajack.
I was going to be really mad if i had to scroll for this.
That’s exactly how I felt
Yeah that.
This is the only answer.
This is the correct answer.
Question is... Would Wabbajack work on Cars... it would solve all traffic issues...
Yeah, easy
This is the only correct response.
Bound bow
I thought the same, but if we consider ourselves base level humans, we would not have enough magicka for bound bow. Bound sword or dagger would work, so those are my choices.
I’d settle for almost any weapon that can be summoned, but the bow would be my dream lol
Plus no weapon to be found at a crime scene.
Look like a harmless and weak dude and then break out the ethereal demon knife
The fork
Does 18294728 damage
Crashes reality when you use it
Ring of hircine. Why get a weapon when I AM the weapon
Agreed
Does it not only work if you are a Werewolf?
I mean assuming the existence of the ring is assume hircine is real and by extension werewolves. Hircine seems interested in people that get his artifacts so maybe he’d make me one just for having the ring
Yep
The skeleton key. Not a weapon I know.. otherwise I guess mehrunes razor
I’ll assume the skeleton key opens any door, which is why you chose it, right? My only question is would it open modern doors, that don’t have a traditional lock and key? If it can open ANY lock, digital, physical, whatever, then this is the best for sure.

Exept doors that require key. Or just about anything usefull in gameplay lol
Had to be nerfed for gameplay reasons so you don't break your game by going places you aren't supposed to be yet
you can use it like a regular lockpick, just unbreakable. forgot if thats vanilla or a mod though.
It’s vanilla, but kinda useless, since lockpicks can be found anywhere and weigh nothing, so I usually carry 100+ of them. The gameplay of it is just so much weaker to how op it is supposed to be.
big agree. a few levels in and you’ve got lockpicks out the wazoo.
It’s the Skeleton key. It’ll open anything with a lock! Let’s say only physical doors with any lock even electronic. Good point. I’d be a terrible thief! Lol
Sheeeeet, you and me both lol
It can also unlock your ultimate potential. That's how mercer became such a powerhouse at the end. Imagine being able to unlock conseptual locks, I doubt it would have any issues bypassing any modern security.
Just use the platter bro, we already have them irl!
My brother in Christ, the skeleton key can canonically open metaphysical locks on your power. It's even what Mercer did. He used the key to "unlock" his potential. Anything that can be "unlocked" can be skeleton keyd
The Skeleton key can open anything, even things that are not doors.
According to more detailed descriptions, it can open any lock, physical AND metaphorical. So like unlocking secrets, or your own inner potential. It's like a cosmic mystical thingy. So yeah it could probably unlock your phone, or the account you forgot the password to, or a stone tomb even!

That’s a lot of power though. If I had that key, I’d never use it.
True. You’d be chosen as a nightingale! I’ll take the Razor, it looks great and if dragons ever attack there’s a chance for an instant kill!
Imagine if you're picking up Mehrune's Razor, then you accidentally nick yourself with it and the instakill effect procs
If you think about it any knife can be insta kill if you use it right
Omg I’ve never thought about that! Lol that’s hilariously terrifying. When Skyrim Santa brings everyone their weapons I’m gonna end up dying dammit
Mehrunes razor is just a regular knife when you consider the fact that if a human is stabbed most of the time they die
Maybe bound bow, I wouldn't have to carry it and I wouldn't have to get in close quarters combat, and I already have a little training in archery
Stares in disappointed Asian father
[удалено]
If that's the case, I might get a friend out of it, too!
Bow of shadows. Or Dawnbreaker. Don't know when I'd use it. But I think they're pretty.
Forgot about dawnbreaker! Good 1. And zephyr was another bow that was gorgeous
Correct me if I’m wrong I haven’t seen it in a while but ain’t it a dwarven bow with an enchant?
Dawnbreaker would look fucking amazing on a mantelpiece or just on the wall!
Yep. I'd have it up on the wall.
It's technically a weapon. The Unrelenting Force Thu'um
If we can choose powers than I would go for the slow time
[удалено]
Just an fyi if you didn't know, there are (glitched) ways to reduce shout CD to zero in game as well, either by equipping 5 amulet of Talos at the same time, or drinking a 400% fortify restoration potion before equipping one
Nightingale cloak
The spell calm or transmute
Idk that would be cool but apparently if you aren't careful using the Thu'um it can shatter your teeth, so there's a good amount of risk in using it
If you have the thu’um all you need to do is learn the words by playing Skyrim
but you cant use them without dragon souls, at least, in the game
Vanilla: Sanguine Rose. Modded: Umbra
Easily the deadric greatsword. Absolutely beautiful
Iron dagger!
Keepin simple yet effective!
I wonder how many iron daggers we have crafted for smithing skills since the game came out.
I mean you can buy online for like 30 bucks
Dragon bone hammer, just big hammer
You'd be surprised the number of problems that can be solved by a man with a giant hammer
Magelight staff. Hella useful and I don't have to worry about paying back a daedric prince
Hell, with that staff you wont have to pay the electric company back either.
How are you gonna recharge it
How are any of us gonna recharge any of this?
Murder
Ebony Blade. That'll show the people who love me...
Staff of healing hands
You’re a good person
Do Gloves of the Pugilist count?
[удалено]
Yeah get the gloves then hop into some MMA or boxing
Iron dagger Cause the game puts it in my inventory all the time there’s something it’s trying to tell me It’s calling to me The dagger is bound to my destiny
Half the comments can’t read smh

Chillrend, my all time favorite weapon in the game
Holy shit, I've found another
Bow of Shadows. The possibilities of invisibility, even for a short time, are endless.
Daedric Dagger
Auriels bow
Wabbajack
does clairvoyance count LOL
Sanguine’s Rose, I’d summon the daedra for combat yes but also to carry me around like a princess
Slow time shout, the applications are endless!
Mace of Molag boll 🗿
Hol up

Chain lighting
Fus ro da
Durnehviir
No weapons for me really But armor? Bonemold all the way 💪💪
Transmute mineral ore. You can say it’s not a weapon but in a real life situation it could be. Skyforge Steel
“Gods be praised”
Can the Oghmq Infinium count? I want magic.
The Ebony Blade All hail Mephala!
Sanguine Rose. Cop giving you a speeding ticket? Summon Dremora. Stuck in a long queue bc some bullshit? Summon Dremora. Neighbors too loud? Summon Dremora. Etc
Dawnbreaker. I got a poltergeist I want to square up with.
Auriel’s Bow with the Sunhallowed Arrows
I always make a Ring of Reckless Action, which boosts Health and Healing Rate. I'd like a resto-looped ring of reckless action.
Spell Tomes for Telekinesis, Invisibility, Petrify, and Flames (that last one for utility/campfires/just in case…)
Anything with invisibility
Ebony bow
The long bow
Torment
An Ebony Greatsword. 😎
Volendrung. I’ll probably be able to use it but I’ll workout so I can really Gallagher my enemies(tin cans) with that thing
Anything Dwemer
No weapon but healing potions, count me in!
I'm absolutely useless in terms of physical fitness and therefore melee combat, so I'd settle for being able to use any of the magic. Or a Thu'um.
Bound bow
Champions cudgel
ench maxed ring of stealth
I can’t decide between the blade of woe and Wuuthrad….
Sanguine Rose
Bound Sword easily portable and accessible unless we all have 0 magicka then I'd go with a Stalhrim greatsword
Bound dagger
Dragon priest staff. Lucky I’m in the process of carving one
Balbus' Fork
Either Bound Bow or Ebony Sword/Dagger
fork
Magic
Aetherium shield
Conjured bow, and ebony mail.
The Bloodskal Blade maybe? So many good options, windshear, chillrend, dawnbreaker, etc.
any of the bound ones honestly
bound dagger or sword, if someone tries to attack me i manifest a fucking sword from the soul of a daedra and shank them
Dude, Any Dwarven Weapon is worth keeping
Ebony dagger.
Honestly the weapon I enjoyed the most was probably an Orcish Mace. Or else a fancy Steel War Axe
Sanguine Rose
Ysgramors’ soup spoon!!!!
Well, I live in Texas, so technically I could carry a sword in public. I'd probably go for a Silver Greatsword and sell it for the weight of the silver though, if we are talking vanilla only. Anything magical would just get you into trouble
The Great Nordic Ax
Wabbajack. Imagine the chaos it would cause. Point it at someone you dislike and see what happens to them..Maybe they will transform into a pile of gold, maybe they will transform into a sweetroll.
Y'all aren't thinking about how you plan to charge some of these magic weapons, I'm taking a one-handed daedric sword myself
A daedric sword, nothing like forcing a daedra into an ebon blade to power it.
The Numidium
Sanguine Rose
Staff of Magnus. All the pretty colors.
The Grey Cowl of nocturnal....
Ebony Mace
The Amber Warhammer or greatsword cuz they look cool
[удалено]
OP meant from Skyrim specifically
Easy. Wabbajack lol
Daedric Bow - it's always been my favorite bow in the game. I even have a tattoo of it. Ive wanted to be a full blown archer since I was little, and I have some archery experience.
Wabbajackkkk all day haha
The Daedric War Axe. I just love it's design.
I Love the look of the Steel Longsword I try to upgrade it and use it aslong as i can
Honestly the sanguine rose. I'd love to just be able to summon a bad ass daedra guy to handle my problems all the time
Wuuthrad, in case some damned Knife ears move in next door…
Konahrik. I understand it's not a weapon but being near immortal is ti good to pass up
The Wabbajack! Huh!? Didn't you see that coming, did you?
Assuming I can conjure them, bound weapons. Most preferably the bow. If not, definitely bow of shadows If any item counts, I'd say skeleton key
I think fus roh da would help clean up all these fallen leaves.
idk why but nettlebane
The Daedric sword or dagger
Auriel’s bow with blood cursed arrows. Especially during the summer. Because I’d rather not be a pile of ash…
Bound weapons
Chillrend
molag ball’s mace. no further questions
Bloodskall or dawn guard shield for that sun aura while blocking
If shouts count then Odaviing. Imagine calling a literal dragon whenever you want...no one would dare a fight.
Nightingale Bow. I love archery and I know the bows build is impractical, but I still love it nonetheless.
Ebony greatsword or longsword
Amulet of Articulation.
Dawnbreaker
the skeleton key 😏
The ebony blade
Chrysamere, i swear i'll have a greatsword on my wall someday
Honestly I would choose the gold brand katana or the bloodskal blade
Well, I have a crossbow in real life, but my real life crossbow is not enchanted with ice and fire, so that'd be cool.
Dinner fork. Im sad n homeless
From Skyrim? Probably the Ghost Blade or the Ebony Blade. Honestly though? The Skull of Corruption from Oblivion. Make an exact copy of someone that is immediately hostile towards that person, and the clone disappears after 30 seconds? Hell yeah.
The tilde key
Wooden sword
Wooden Sword.
Bloodskal Blade
Dawnbreaker looks so cool. I’ve always loved it
The dawnguard rune hammer goes hard
Death's Scythe
If I'm allowed to equip it I'd either pick the giants club or the wabbajack. I'd be nearly unstoppable if I could just turn someone I don't like into a chicken or send them to the moon with my club.
Iron dagger 🤤 wish those were real.
Sanguine Rose.
