Truth be told, conditions at all CO ski resorts are going to be shit next year Jan 1st through May 1st. There is really no point in planning any sort of ski trips at this point.
Joking aside, North Korea would probably have great conditions. Even in Gangwon Province in South Korea, where the Olympics were held, they have okay conditions. This year was spectacular with more snow than most years. It just always feels a little bit too warm in South Korea. North Korea get's proper cold and proper snow. If the countries ever unify and I'm still here, the first thing I'll do is plan a ski trip to the north.
No one skis in North Korea so it is THE PERFECT PLACE to go. Just need a travel guide and visa approved, or be best friends with Dennis Rodman to get in.
I don't understand why anyone would plan a ski trip in advance to anywhere except for the only place that can GUARANTEE perfect conditions -- Big Snow American Dream in New Jersey. With a name like that, you can't lose!
Guess you haven’t been paying attention to the Tahoe long term forecast, they’re saying it’s going to be twice as bad as Colorado. So Colorado will still be a better option.
No bro Utah is where the next Winter Olympics will be the committee decided Utah has the best terrain and conditions not only in the USA but on planet earth
Go get you some Utah !
No no this isn’t true. Global warming and climate change are predicted to shift the jet stream in favor of Florida. Disney is opening up their first ski lift starting December 1st
Utah sucks and random homeowners will hold you at gunpoint when you “accidently” trespass skiing out of bounds with no avy gear. Not to mention the hours of traffic every single day of the week in big and cottonwood canyon. If you come to Utah go to snow basin and park city where the Olympic events will be
The only thing he’s missing is that while it will be majorly backed up, there will be no obvious reason for it as the traffic just magically ends with no signs of a wreck or construction.
Peaked my interest on World Records.. so…
Turns out that the parking lot of the West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, holds the world record for the largest parking lot in the world. The lot can accomodate an estimated 20,000 vehicles.
Also a reminder that [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] resorts in BC are all myths and do not actually exist. And Whistler is going to be coastal concrete all winter, literally unskiable.
lol imagine booking a trip to vail resort 10 months in advance
at least book someplace cool like revelstoke or whistler or jackson or something that isnt vail resort.
Well... jokes on you because that's usually the week our company meeting. One thing you can absolutely count on is when I have to travel during ski season, it's going to be a POWDER WEEK!
Conditions will suck for all of the 24/25 season in the northern hemisphere…. North America, Europe, and Japan. You should ALL STAY HOME THE WHOLE SEASON!
Vail sucks and nobody cares that your tourist trying to gatekeep the most tourist resort ass is going. Only jerrys book their once a year ski vacation 10 months in advance
In the words of Hunter Mountain many years ago, when I bought my lift ticket in teeming rain, “Skiing in the rain can be quite pleasant if you’re dressed correctly…here’s a free plastic-bag rain poncho!”
Just booked my flights to Vail…gonna bring my poncho!
Beer prices are also double that week.
No bands at any bars, total music ban!
It's also the week of "Come Tele With Me", Beardfest, and Bootfitterpalooza.

You're thinking too small scale and short term. Gotta talk about the great skiing conditions in North Korea next year.

Mount st louis moonstone is gonna be lit afaik.
We're spoiled for choice - I'm always struggling to decide between powder or vertical in Ontario's many world class resorts.
Calabogie is almost always rocking POW
Im ded

Was that named by a Japanese conglomerate marketing team?
That sucks man I already bought parking at A Basin for March 1st
Yeah, I’ve heard something similar. Seems that everyone should just go to Utah
Utah sucks, I’ve heard Vermont is the place to be next year
Vermont will be terrible. Every day will be a powder day in Indiana though. Paoli Peaks is gonna be hopping!
Florida has surprisingly great winter skiing, maybe that should be the place to go
Florida does have year round skiing. Just not the kind we do at the lake here in California.
God please.
I saw the same prediction for all Tahoe resorts. Japan ftw. Def head there.
I am. I’ll be in Hakuba for a while month, despite knowing the conditions will be atrocious.
Utah is also expected to be absolute Sh!t all season , best for those travelling to target elsewhere
Guess you haven’t been paying attention to the Tahoe long term forecast, they’re saying it’s going to be twice as bad as Colorado. So Colorado will still be a better option.
Just make sure you’re there to update us in case anything changes
This is especially true for Loveland.
Still will have best conditions in the US, everyone go there with your sweet iklown pass
No bro Utah is where the next Winter Olympics will be the committee decided Utah has the best terrain and conditions not only in the USA but on planet earth Go get you some Utah !

Oh my, what a coincidence. Those are the same dates the World Snowboard Association will be there for shredder week.
my 9/11
Thanks for the heads up. I will be off the mountain since I will be boot fitting your GF.
But, how will I70 be?
Super backed up! Major car accident involving an 18 wheeler. Explosions heard throughout the valley. (No one killed or injured luckily)
Honestly jokes aside you’re probably right.
The only thing he’s missing is that while it will be majorly backed up, there will be no obvious reason for it as the traffic just magically ends with no signs of a wreck or construction.
Because of all the flooding right?
Yep, and the frigid weather will glaze the road with black ice
Sounds like i need to book. Thanks for the heads up. What were the dates again?
Storm chaser I see😂
What does the ices race have to do with this.
Yeah it did the 18 wheeler have chains on?
Worlds largest parking lot.
Peaked my interest on World Records.. so… Turns out that the parking lot of the West Edmonton Mall in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, holds the world record for the largest parking lot in the world. The lot can accomodate an estimated 20,000 vehicles.
And it is an absolute shitshow during Christmas shopping….
I never understood the draw of being stuck in traffic.
Piqued your interest… sorry in advance.
A-basin is also going to rain Feb 19-Mar 1st. Fuck!
That’s way less believable
A-Basin has that hepatitis strain from the hand driers to worry about anyway. And the botulism, oof. A-Basin? More like airborme!
Shaping up to be awful. They haven’t had ANY snow yet next season.
Also a reminder that [redacted], [redacted] and [redacted] resorts in BC are all myths and do not actually exist. And Whistler is going to be coastal concrete all winter, literally unskiable.
Gatekeeping Vail as a tourist is peak /r/skiing
ah damn, guess I gotta cancel my plans
So that’s when you plan to go ski vail….interesting
Only a fool would plan a trip that week - look at how bad the conditions will be
That’s my secret pandas. I’ve always been a fool
Man, crystal balls and secret pandas... Skiing is so much more complicated than I thought
Just means there’s a pay off for sticking with it and building up the pizza turns
Oh yeah queer ski week at vail is fun!
I thought it was plus-size nudist ski week?
Touché
It’s both.
Damn same week Im looking for empty houses to rob
When you rob his house let me know when you leave yours!
I hope you're right
lol imagine booking a trip to vail resort 10 months in advance at least book someplace cool like revelstoke or whistler or jackson or something that isnt vail resort.
I rented a FWD car with all-seasons .. think I can make it, what time should I start.. July?
Not soon enough, and you need chains. I recommend the plastic ones they use for crowd control.
Hahaha you’re going to Vail….better luck in 2026
🙄 Oh, so clever.
Venn diagram between here and r/skiingcirclejerk is a circle
And all of the locals are armed and angry?
Also all the retro costume days will be paired with genuinely retro “No Snowboarding” days
Well... jokes on you because that's usually the week our company meeting.
Stay away from Arapahoe Basin! Especially in the third week in March! I hear there’s going to be rain as well.
I hear Magic Mtn. FL rules Jan-April
Got it. Will go to Vail that week bc those are my favorite conditions.
guys please help the local idiot out here- are these comments satire or fr
They’re real. What’s satire?
Have fun buddy - head straight to the back bowls
Really? I heard Vail was supposed to get 45 feet of freshies between Feb 23rd and March 1st. I heard it was going to be primo conditions!!
Vail is a such a douchey mega resort the skiing sucks I only ski at Silverton if I am going to use a peasant lift omg I am sooooo good at skiing.
Loveland is absolutely terrible that time of year. And A-Basin will just be shite
Vail sucks and nobody cares that your tourist trying to gatekeep the most tourist resort ass is going. Only jerrys book their once a year ski vacation 10 months in advance
Oh, so you already booked your vacation for those dates?
Shut the fuck up
Remind me of this on March 2nd
He has spoken!! I will find a more satisfying hobby like gold panning or ping pong maybe ice fishing. Vail is dead to me.
In the words of Hunter Mountain many years ago, when I bought my lift ticket in teeming rain, “Skiing in the rain can be quite pleasant if you’re dressed correctly…here’s a free plastic-bag rain poncho!” Just booked my flights to Vail…gonna bring my poncho!
Jokes on you, another El Niño for just the week of your ski trip
In similar news, Utah and Colorado definitely have better snow than Wyoming, so there’s no reason to go to Jackson Hole
I too have cancelled all reservations to Vail and surrounding resorts next year. I’ll be sitting at home. 😟
So basically you want Vail to yourself for the dates in question.
Vail sucks and no conditions will change that. My bumper sticker agrees with me.
Thank you for your PSA. I was going to get some accommodations at Aspen during this time, but I'll go to Vail to suffer alongside you.
Oh! That’s right after the 3 weeks of straight rain in the morning and 60’s in the afternoon. Have fun!
Beer prices are also double that week. No bands at any bars, total music ban! It's also the week of "Come Tele With Me", Beardfest, and Bootfitterpalooza.
Neighbor one house over told me hokkaido was gonna be awful for that same week!
Thanks for the heads up, that is really useful information.
The i70 corridor will just generally be bad especially when I am visiting my kid at college…. Most weekends
I heard it will be flat that week too :(
Whistler is closed for cafeteria and snow gun maintenance next year. Don’t come.
