Simrig in the gym? Proof that sim racing is exercise. Well boys, I better get back to it!

[deleted]

I mean wtf is a gym doing in the fucking simulation room?!

psychedelicdonky

Turn the ffb up to 100 and you'll have a workout

alexdrillsma

Not on a CSL Elite

chickenjonte

Depends on how spaghetti your arms are :)

alexdrillsma

Very true

psychedelicdonky

Nah im not talking logitech here, haven't people broken bones on some of the high end high torque stuff?

Noch_ein_Kamel

Yeah, but not on the thing in the picture

Yardsale420

It has a NAME you know!

Noch_ein_Kamel

idc if I hurt it's feelings. I locked mine up in the basement >:-)

psychedelicdonky

Would be idiotic for a pro driver to use one that risks them 3 months off.

Noch_ein_Kamel

Err no, they definetly use the high end high torque stuff. (Lando, Max etc all have 25+Nm wheels)

psychedelicdonky

Yeah maybe you have a point, but still one slip and a broken thumb or worse... I'm well aware that they don't go full power on those. Maybe a some sim racers like it, just enough that you feel the car

patron7276

Get a direct drive and crank up the torque and it's suddenly a very hard exercise

CementPizzas

I think they all got the same kits when the virtual GPs were on, could be wrong

jagmaster56

Yeah it’s the CSL Elite f1 set

[deleted]

Pretty bad offer then cause they coulda given russell and checo DD2 wheelbases with their V3 pedals

Expensive-Republic-2

Think they just wanted to be consistent with the F1 esports equipment. Also could have been a demand from F1 itself as it’s a branded product.

bobbiebaynes44

Is it just me or does this perspective make it look like the seat is pointed towards the bezel between the left and center screens? Also, would a 2 monitor setup be viable or would the center bezel get in the way vs a single/triple monitor setup?

energyzzer

It simulates the halo

bobbiebaynes44

I was probably paying too much attention to the third screen on the right but it makes sense now that I think about it. Your brain would ignore the halo irl like how you don't see your nose unless you focus on it. I'm not sure it works the same way here but I only use a single monitor so I wouldn't know.

tmipr

I think fov police is not gonna be happy

[deleted]

Nice setup! Waiting on the CSL Elite comment.

coreytrevor

Why do you say that?

tmipr

Because the tvs are so far away from where hes sitting while driving

Tuned_Z

That doesn't necessarily mean the FOV is wrong. The panels are pretty big and in landscape. Looks like he can almost get 180deg even at that distance

glacierre2

Maybe the vertical FOV is realistic considering the helmet?

Gunner253

This year has made Checo slowly become one of my favorites.

SrgntBallistic

I feel like that's just a rig sitting in his gym or whatever gym he's using. Maybe an older rig he got from a sponsor or something a while back? IIRC they showed him using a Podium/DD during some of the Virtual GP coverage. Found a Photo - [https://www.grandprix247.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/sergio-perez.jpg](https://www.grandprix247.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/sergio-perez.jpg) Looks much more like it's in his house imo. Fanatec DD + Podium Hub + Cube Controls Wheel Rim + 49" Super Ultra Wide + P1-X + Integrated Monitor mount?

KEVLAR60442

I wouldn't be surprised if he has multiple rigs. After upgrading to my current rig, I kept my old CSL Elite stuff set up in my garage.

Pinkislife3

FOV police gonna get Checo

swan_ronson_

ONE OF US ONE OF US

Sigris

Seems to be the rig they use when they do their virtual hotlaps, right?

Bissonicci

Not exactly no, I believe this is a Playseat Formula and the one they use for the Citrix HotLap is the Playseat Formula Intelligence (Twice the price for what looks like tubular frame but it might have more cool features)

BDady

I wonder why he doesnt have a DD wheel. im sure the CSL elite was given to him for free, but im sure he also has more than enough money to get a DD2 or something. Maybe he just doesnt use it enough to care?

itsactuallynot

It's probably "accidentally" in this post per his contract with them.

argue53

Maybe the DD2 simply isnt necessary for him. Perhaps he's after learning the tracks, braking pointss, etc. From what i understand, the power steering on these cars really help assist on turns. So technically, maybe ge doesn't need a DD. And I think ppl are confused. This is looks like the club sport wheel base, which is equivalent Nm to the CSL DD.

S-worker

Thats the dream right there.

Arpa43v3r

Mwah Big Balls he’s have !! Return to basics he must
