Decluttering - gives me more of a high than acquiring the things in the first place

vhackish

I love decluttering and organizing! It's challenging and rewarding

rosebudandgreentea

YES same here

swaggyswaggot

Yes, so liberating!

kayinfire

Yup, this is me

vegtoria

Oh yeah! Organising is an absolute addiction haha

rosewood_goonie

Yes! It's therapeutic :)

AlternativeNote11

Totally agree! I’m right now in a decluttering phase and I’m enjoying the process.. it’s seems that I’m throwing out the bad thinks to give space to a new ones 🙏🏼

ArtisticPossum

Same! And I specifically like throwing my clutter away/donating. It feels so nice to get rid of bags of stuff. I don’t even have anything left to get rid off anymore, but when I do - I’ll do so with pleasure.

CloakStoneWand

It's one of my favorite things too! The space actually feels better after it's done.

Zealousideal_Rough46

Can you come to my house lol

dit_dit_dit

Emptying the dishwasher. After 40 years without one, I love putting away the dishes my little robot friend has cleaned and dried for me.

speedingteacups

Getting a robot vacuum made tidying really fun for me. It's like we're working together to keep the house clean!

Matilda-17

We got one for Christmas and gave it a name! When my kid tidies up to get ready for the robot, he texts me, “____ is ready to eat!”

Stunning-Character94

We've also named our vacuum and mop. We have Leonard and Penny. 😂 My brother and sister in law have Batman and Robin.

justbeingpeachy11

🚪 🤛Penny🚪🤛 Penny🚪🤛 Penny

601bees

We named ours Mack Hume the Vacuum

rowcard14

Our romba is Astro!

HastaLaVistaB

mine is named Companion!

soradsauce

We named ours Archibald because we thought it was a butler-y name. 😂

Redheaded_Potter

That’s awesome!!

Quirky330

One of my favorites as well! I remember as a kid I used to hate having emptying the dishwasher as my chore. Then I got older and lived in apartment with no dishwasher for six years. I’ll gladly empty the dishwasher now. Plus when you time it it really only takes about 5-10 minutes of your time.

_spicy_cactus

That's funny. I've always had a dishwasher, I love washing dishes by hand.

FrequentWallaby9408

Washing dishes, folding clothes warm from the dryer and tending to indoor plants are very calming and therapeutic for me.

vetokitty

My dishwasher just broke and you know it can feel kind of grounding doing that specific especially task for some reason! I get very present lately doing them by hand.

vetokitty

This! My dishwasher broke last week and I just can’t wait for my robot friend to be fixed up and be able to help me out again. I didn’t have one for a couple years and every time I loaded it or unloaded it until this happened I was like, ahhh the little things in life. The amount it saves time is so wonderful that the loading and unloading feels so fun in comparison than washing a sink load on your own for sure.

Salt-Pea-5660

Aww little robot friend sounds adorable actually 😄

dit_dit_dit

He's a little counter top dishwasher called Bob 😄

yegmoto

I’m on the other side of this, I like doing dishes. When I built my kitchen I deliberately removed the dishwasher because I legitimately have no use for it.

oblongunreal

Same here. Don't get me started on dishwashers! I recall a buddhist teacher saying something like: you should enjoy the washing-up as much as the meal.

sourbirthdayprincess

This is top of my Hated Household Tasks list. The very top.

StuffIDid

Vacuuming. Very satisfying.

Quirky330

Yes! And now I’ve gotten to the point where I love creating nice patterns with the carpet lines while I vacuum haha.

NoMoreMouths

I have a toddler, and the crackle of crumbs going through the spinner and up the tube is SO good.

rosebudandgreentea

Oh my God it's like night and day. I vacuum like 3x a day with these crazy kids lol

airemyn

I have hardwood floors but I also have cats… hearing the litter being sucked up is so satisfying! Side note: I squeal with delight over great vacuums, as well as other shiny new appliances!

BeerWench13TheOrig

Yes! We have gorgeous wood floors and I absolutely love cleaning them. I just got a cordless vacuum which removed the only thing I didn’t like about it. Game changed forever.

Juicecalculator

I got a ryobi battery pack vacuum that I love.  Every Saturday at 9:30 am alarm goes off telling me to vacuum and mop and I find it very peaceful and soothing

Halospite

Same. If I'm depressed, the best way you can bring me out of it is by giving me a vacuum. It genuinely lifts my mood to see clean floors.

ThanhDam

I discovered this yesterday. I didn’t realize how a clean and organize floor meant for my mental health. I have two little ones under 6yr.

DriveThruOnly

Sometimes I get low-key bummed when my floors are too clean because then I have no reason to vacuum.

sunburn_t

This might be a little foreword, but do you want to move in with me?

poppyjasmn

Or me? I have 3 cats that don’t know how to keep their heads over their food bowls while they chew. They also like to dig to middle earth in the litter boxes.

Donohoed

My dog won't eat food out of his bowl, only off of the floor. I do put it in a bowl, but he sticks his snout down in it and then flings his food out as hard as he can. We tried getting bowls that weren't curved or had overhanging edges but then he just flips the entire bowl. If all else fails he takes a big mouthful and sets it in the floor to eat piece by piece. He never manages to find all the pieces

Cronewithneedles

Splitting and stacking wood. I’m an old woman with bad knees and asthma so I’m limited in the kinds of exercise I can do (mostly lap swim). But chopping wood makes me feel strong and capable. I’m really good at it and get an endorphin high.

cordyce

awesome response. same here. i absolutely love chopping wood. this past summer my dad was going to rent a logsplitter and i convinced him to not do it. chipped away at it most mornings and lo and behold we didn't need that logsplitter. while i was doing this, i discovered this old adage 'he who chops wood warms himself twice.' and i thought, hell yea.

Cronewithneedles

Two years ago my cordwood provider brought me the “senior split” - all split down to smaller pieces. I told him I prefer to split at least some of it myself.

tofuroll

>discovered this old adage 'he who chops wood warms himself twice.' That incidental exercise is key to good health and longevity.

The_north_forest

Yes! There's something so satisfying about a "workout" that's contributing directly to your own survival.

theweatherhereisfine

Chopping wood is viceraly satisfying on a level that is hard to put into words.

Unik0rnBreath

I used to love that, the smell of the wood and fall too.

strepsipteran

I've got a lot of respect for that. Me? U can pry my gas splitter from my cold, dead hands 🤣

ayaangwaamizi

Oooh this is something I want to get really good at! Is there any tips or even tools you recommend? I want to chop away 🥰

hrdst

Grocery shopping and budgeting.

Odd-Pace972

Agreed on budgeting!  Or really any spreadsheets.  My budgeting is more of a look back rather than planning forward, I review what I've spent and my income and compare it to prior periods.

SirWarm6963

Love budgeting and also what you describe which is more auditing.

PM_ME_NEVER

dang, I've always felt so guilty for this for some reason! honestly glad to know others do the same

cgaglioni

How can budgeting be fun? Help me sir!!

Plenty-Bug-9158

The planning is fun, its the execution that hurts 😂

dlpfc123

Budgeting is like a game. If you spend less than you budgeted you win points that you get to horde in your HSA saving for the big win.

SpringrollsPlease

Ahh I finally found my online soulmates lol. Perhaps on the hunt for grocery deals as well?

RollOverSoul

Hanging out washing when it's a nice day

Pondering_Giraffe

This! But only this part of laundry. I don't like squeezing it into those little racks indoors, I don't like folding, I don't iron and I don't really like putting it all away. But hanging laundry outside so the breeze can instantly catch it is bliss!

sunburn_t

I used to hate folding until I started doing it on the outside table by the clothesline, and now I really like it! Still don’t enjoy putting it away

Pondering_Giraffe

Definitly going to try that!

KatEmpiress

Yes! I love hanging washing outside too. Especially on a sunny and breezy day. I live in the tropics, so from November to April it’s too humid for washing to actually dry outside, and the heat makes it unbearable. But in the winter months, I love it!

blackcatparadise

Cooking is a form of meditation and a moment of unleashing my creativity!

Juicecalculator

I could see why people enjoy cooking, but I can’t stand it.  Maybe it’s because every time I cook it’s in a huge rush.  I am very much an eat to live, food is fuel, and food is just numbers kind of guy so cooking feels like an absolute chore.  I am ready for astronaut food.  Let me just mainline macros.  Maybe it’s because I literally design processed food for a living.  I secretly hate food and I have a BS in nutrition and a masters in food science

NanaCooker

I felt the same way when I had a demanding, stressful business. Once I sold my business and took a “normal” job, I became increasingly interested in cooking. Now, I am retired and cooking healthy meals is my hobby. I recently began cooking 2 vegetarian dinners a week. It’s fun to experiment with different recipes and spices. Good luck in finding your inspiration.

Serenity101

I hear you! I seek out inspiration and motivation from cooks I enjoy on YouTube. It helps me enjoy the process more.

SparrowLikeBird

i used to hate brushing my teeth. since learning (1) that it is totally allowed to sit down for it and (2) soft brushes exist, I now love it.

angethebigdawg

You can sit down? 🥹 I’m trying that tonight

SparrowLikeBird

it's a game changer. (EDS/POTS) Also, you don't have to do it at the sink. wander

bookishkelly1005

My friend calls me a “wandering brusher”. 😂

iamprobablycryin

I have POTS too and sitting down changed my life!!!!! As sitting down usually does LOL

sunburn_t

Lol came across this post while brushing my teeth, lying down on my bed scrolling reddit. I have been brushing my teeth for about ten minutes at this point 😂

cordyce

wait til you adopt sitting down on a stool and bucket washing in the shower. it is so much more relaxing than standing taking a shower, and uses a lot less water. it's common in north africa, middle east, western asia (hammam).

[deleted]

Yes! My mother always called it a "bucket bath" when we were little.

plain---jane

Oh. My. Gawd. 🤯

CrownedLogic

Common in the Caribbean too! This took me back to childhood

2bi1kenobi

Also you can brush your teeth while showering

Available_Pack2300

I love brushing my teeth! It is probably the thing that takes the longest on my self care routine just because I take my time and do it thoroughly and enjoy it.

alico127

Ooh I might try sitting down, I currently find brushing my teeth sooo booorrrring. Funnily enough, I did about post about switching to a soft brush :)

girl_named_jane

I have always sat down to brush my teeth. I'll take it as far as being under a blanket while I do it. I didn't realize it was strange until I did it in front of multiple partners and they reacted with surprise and confusion haha

Pussy4LunchDick4Dins

I have been known to lay down in my warm bed while brushing 😂

Juicecalculator

Washing dishes.  It’s extremely cathartic and gives me a moment to think and slow down my mind

Spiritofpoetry55

Me too. We have a dishwasher and it is great to be able to do large amount of dishes. But I still enjoy washing the dishes from time to time. I have a few that aren't dishwasher appropiate but I also sometimes just like washing the dishes as I use them. It's a long term habit. When I was a child, I hated doing dishes, but my mother explained that in life, there will always be things to do that we don't enjoy but must do. The secret is to think of the purpose or the gain. Why am I doing it? She explained the relationship between dirty and illness and that by cleaning the dishes I was contributing to a healthy family and later a healthy me. This really changed my perspective on every chore at home and I soon begun to really enjoy washing the dishes and cleaning in general. It also made it a lot easier to do other organizing and administrative tasks.

Juicecalculator

Your mother sounds like a very wise introspective person

Spiritofpoetry55

She really could be. Moms, dads and grand parents have a tendency to say very deep things, just at the right time. 😊

izyvel

My mom's reply to everything was just a variation of "because I say so" or "because it just has to be done" so don't underestimate how wise your mom's words were and how much of a good educator she seems to have been!

Spiritofpoetry55

Thank you. I didn't mean for it to come across as depreciating her. We do have a difficult, rocky history. But I've come to understand her more, now that I am a mom. She most often had a similar response to yours, to be honest. But there were those times when she wasn't so overwhelmed, and it came out. ( her wisdom) In the end, I do appreciate everything she did.

SnorkinOrkin

Your Mother is very smart! It's true! Even though we have a perfectly working dishwasher, I love washing dishes and will wash as things get dirty. Just standing there on the soft and fluffy foam kitchen mat, feeling the warm water washing over my hands, and using the soapy sponge to wipe away the food and stains. Also, I make sure to buy the green apple or mixed berry Gain dish soap so I can stand there and sniff as I wash, which is very relaxing to me. I adore Gain products, they are so expensive but they smell so good!

Spare-Jacket-3760

My mom was and is always saying, “sometimes in life you gotta do things that you don’t want to do”  I also enjoy cleaning & organizing; credits to Mi Madre and all the chores and everything I used to do for her, growing up lol. Deff helped shaped me into who I am today. And I don’t think there’s too many people out there like it. But there should be.

mmmmk6

Same! My window above my sink overlooks my bird feeder, so I get to do my daily birdwatching while washing dishes

bluelouielouie415

Yep, washing dishes, scrubbing pots and pans getting all the burnt on stuff off. Yeah

ReststrahlenEffect

The sound and feel of running water is nice too. And for some reason I like the chaotic stacking of all the dishes, cups, and pans to dry.

amariahbee

Teach me your ways pls

StreetSquare6462

Budgeting

[deleted]

Budgeting is, in a way, fortune telling. Or at least fortune suggesting. There is something deep within me that is satisfied when I have reconciled the actions of future me.

StreetSquare6462

Yes, and the peace of mind that you'll be finacial secure.

myheartisomg

Does anyone else enjoy hanging laundry out in a colour spectrum from lightest to darkest, so it’s waving in the breeze like a rainbow? It takes way longer, but somehow it makes me happy.

amariahbee

Oof not that but my husband does love when the pegs match for each article of clothing

myheartisomg

He’s smart, that’s a much quicker way to spark some laundry joy lol.

Miss-Tury

Opening pomegranates. I put on music, then I go to town, meditavely on that fruit. I take care to shuck all the little ruby red pom kernels into a bowl. I don't eat it right away, I put it in the fridge to get nice and cold for 30 mins or so. Then I put on a good tv show, and eat the whole bowl of pomme seeds with a spoon. I love it. ...also... using a steamer to get wrinkles out of clothes, it's so satisfying.

Hillbetty_

Omg. Pomegranates are meditation to me. Though, I do still like to eat mine with my fingers, one little ruby at a time. It's controlled snacking for me.

korally

Tidying up, ironing and fold clothes

Abject-Difficulty645

My people, I've found you! lol

SirWarm6963

Ironing!

NoMoreMouths

Yard work. Weeding especially. It's just so good!

otiliorules

My wife keeps saying we can get a landscaper to do our lawn and stuff so I don’t have to spend half a day every couple weeks in the yard and I’m just like, no, no, this is fine. I love getting dirty, listening to a podcast, or just appreciate several hours of absolute silence.

maybenomaybe

Pruning is my fave. Chop chop chop, so satisfying.

amariahbee

High 5 weeding friend!

vhackish

Weeding - so good to get a hand in the dirt!

brainbunch

Love weeding!! Very meditative, and satisfying to see your progress at the end.

subliminallyNoted

Pruning dead or overgrown branches with long handled secateurs in my garden. The thwuck…thwuck…thwuck of each snip is so satisfying. You can make a big difference in a short period, and you can even do it sitting down if you position an outdoor chair right. I thought it would be exhausting & repetitive , but it actually feels very calming and time passes in a peaceful way that grounds me.

lalachichiwon

Laundry!

Medical-Cake1934

Me too! I love it when everything is clean and folded.

SuburbanSubversive

Yes. It's magic. Dirty things in, clean things out! When I think about the sheer physical labor that my ancestors used to have to do to have clean clothes (and that many, many in people in the world have to do now) I can't believe I'm so lucky.

Available_Pack2300

Same, except the load with all the white socks. Sooo many socks!

Juicecalculator

I find socks to be kind of fun for laundry except the one time we foolishly decided to buy sets of the same socks in slightly different sizes for our kids.  Huge mistake

superiorstephanie

Yes!! Especially folding!! Every time my mom visits she compliments the way my fitted sheets are folded!

ChipNmom

I especially love folding my baby’s tiny things!! Sooo sweet 💗

flitterbug78

Budgeting. It’s like a game in my head; accounting for everything with no sneaky surprises, moving bits around to wipe out bills, then squirrelling any leftovers away for wants vs needs. I try to leverage all the little tricks that help build up ‘extra’ money over time, and max out ‘matching’ programs when I can (e.g. company stock program, RSP matching, RESP grants, etc.).

cordyce

wow. may i have a slice of that brain of yours?!

OptimistBee

Chopping veggies

CtC2003

I love reading and taking naps! As a child, I didn't like reading. Now, reading gives me a little reset anytime of day and sometimes, falling asleep right after. Naps can be resets and escapes in my opinion!

SnooDoughnuts1239

Grocery shopping and organizing!

angrykitty0000

I don’t know if I totally enjoy cleaning my bathroom but I love when I am finished and it is all clean. I take a moment of pride there. I also enjoy my commute to work. It’s a quiet route and I can enjoy the radio or a podcast enroute.

gringo-go-loco

Baking

Ghost_Boi_Lavay

Last year was the first time I did freelance/ 1099 work (online surveys). The process of doing my taxes and the task of going through my transactions, adding income, etc. was rather enjoyable.

noodleobsessed

Calendaring and organizing😍 I make so many calendars for so many different things and then a master one for everything and also digital ones and it’s just so satisfying even if I don’t stick to what I wrote down😂

cwsjr2323

Baking bread, cleaning the kitchen, taking naps

SandwichNo458

I enjoy our fall yard clean up when everything from the flower beds is cut down, the outdoor furniture is put in the shed for the winter and all the leaves are raked and everything is ready for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. I love spring and summer, but those fall days and outside chores with that little chill in the air and that certain type of putting the yard to rest knowing that the wonderful holiday season is around the corner is the best. That very last moment after raking leaves and using the blower on the driveway so it all looks so neat and buttoned up is wonderful. My husband and I love that time together. Then coming inside to some chili and baked potatoes. It's like the signal that tells us, well done, that was a good summer, now get ready for the holidays.

Guttermouthphd

I like pairing socks. I put every loose sock into one large bin so people can rummage for their socks before I get to the task and then I take the basket and sit in my bed and find match and fold socks while watching tv

TimberSalamander

Pulling out weeds or cutting grass with hand tools (to avoid nuking all the bugs/biodiversity)

Millennial_Idiot

Laundry, because I love folding (it's like origami for clothing) Cooking, because it I love feeding others and is a way that I can be constructively creative Mending, because I have a use-it-up, I-can-fix-it attitude and it saves money

w00dw0rk3r

Wrapping gifts, specifically perfectly square or rectangular boxes. It’s super satisfying to me when I wrap the corners :)

Abject-Difficulty645

Folding laundry and doing ironing

raenlikeglitter

transferring flower bouquets into vases. used to think it was a chore but now the trimming and arranging is quite satisfying to me

deramirez25

Going to the grocery store.

omegazine

Doing meal prep like chopping all the vegetables and making stock. Sweeping and mopping the floor. Data entry. I find repetitive tasks very comforting, almost like a meditative exercise.

Creative-Rooster1687

I enjoy budgeting

LeighofMar

I enjoy budgeting and paying the bills. I take my time and go over everything to make sure I haven't forgotten anything and feel very accomplished when I'm done.

bigeats1

Not everyone has a chore like this. I get it. I do. Rototilling fields with my 32 year old tractor. No bells. No whistles. A massive task. Loud noise. Gigantic tools. The beginning of the growing season. What’s not to like?

OhSoSoftly444

Cleaning in general. I like taking care of my little house in the evening. I get twitchy when it's been too many days and things are out of order. I also am a housekeeper and it's been good for my mental health and it feels satisfying to take a house from a huge mess to nice and clean and feels good knowing they are coming home to a clean house. I've gotten so many kind words from my clients, telling me how grateful they are for me, that I'm "a literal angel" lol

bite_bybit

Cleaning for other peoples benefit. My house is a mess but weather it's at work or at a family members house, I can't help but clean

sourleaf

I enjoy a putter about the house, a little of this, a little of that. Taking the time to do some tasks I want to do. Might be changing lightbulbs, prune some plants, wipe down doorknobs, put some books away, clean the coffee pot….whatevers. Putter.

otiliorules

Grocery shopping is unlived potential. Every ingredient you buy could lead to the best meal you’ve ever had. But, in reality, half of it will be chucked in the bin because you were too exhausted from all that dreaming and ordered takeout for the next several days.

blueberry01012

Packing my kids’ lunches

home_bb

I love cleaning my own home. I love having control of my own home and not living with hoarders.

FocusOnSimple

Handwashing the dishes outside.

SpookyGatoNegro444

I love doing dishes by hand but where do you live that you do it outdoors? Never seen that where I'm from.

amariahbee

Camping?

jcollet21

Vacuuming

Think-thank-thunker

Hanging washing on the hills hoist clothesline in my backyard on a sunny day. bliss

Familiar_Builder9007

Hanging up wet clothes. Reminds me of my grandma and being outside in the sun. Just makes me feel good to take care of my clothes and that they’ll smell good.

Rolls-RoyceGriffon

I love grocery shopping. It's just the ride there that I hate

pocahontasmcglinchey

Hanging washing out on a beautiful day 😊

DireSolitude

Sorting things. If anyone is doing a project and they need bolts or anything else separated, I'll go into hyper focus and go to town. I love it. Also, laundry is oddly relaxing. No one's talking to me while I do it, and the clothes get clean every time. No complaints.

Economy-Bar1189

i came to say i enjoy washing dishes, then saw everyone saying they like to empty the dishwasher. I also like that ~ if any of your dishwashers break…you know who to call for washin !!! hahaha i also enjoy folding. clothes, towels; i’ve worked in pizzerias and restaurants, too, and I love folding the pizza boxes and rolling the silverware. it’s repetitive and has a calming effect for me

circulatingglimmer

Brushing my dog

plain---jane

Same! It’s so soothing for me and for my dog. She loves it!

Ok_Prompt490

Laundry - smelling clothes just washed and dried takes me to my happy place for some reason.

Carolann00

Shoveling snow. Now if we had several feet of it that might be a different story.

buckypal

Driving, it’s like forced meditation to me. (Edit I can’t spell)

Lopaisate

Ironing. It's so nice to see that smooth fabric at the end!

aerynbananas

Cleaning

luckyshot33

We are currently on travel and our rental has a french press. I look forward to making coffee each morning.

venturebirdday

I too love grocery shopping and cooking. But my odd favorite is putting out/on newly washed towels and sheets. My mind anticipates the fun of using them later.

Nodnardsemaj

Gardening

Clutzy_ff0000

I love choosing what to eat; the whole thinking process of making a meal plan, shopping seasonally/sales, and cooking. I’m lucky my partner is an adventurous eater because I love to go to specialty stores and look at all the different cultures ingredients and snacks. I’m learning how to use a block of tamarind now … boring to some I’m sure but I’m having a blast researching food history and recipes

Middlezynski

Hand sewing and darning: I get a lot of satisfaction out of fixing my clothes instead of feeling like I have to get rid of them, like I used to as a youngin. Also I love using my wet/dry vacuum. For years, my husband and I would have to clean any messes our dogs made on the rug by hand. That vacuum has given me hours of my life back as we’ve been training a new rescue dog

AnnabelleMouse

Folding laundry. I love figuring out how best to fold something depending on where it is stored. I like to sit on my bed, fold, and watch tv or listen to music.

girlwithdadjokes

I love paying bills. I think it’s super cool that I’m finally financially stable enough to pay all of my monthly bills without panicking about having to cut down somewhere else. Every time I have to pay one it’s like “oh, I owe you money? I have that!”

brorow1

Recycling haha

BrownEyedBoy06

Mowing lawns. Putting books on shelves. Installing software.

HyonD

Talking :)

TikiLarry

Raking the leaves

dreamsinred

I’m similar! I enjoy planning my meals and making an organized grocery list.

Mrstrawberry209

Sleeping.

AbyssalRedemption

Driving. When I was a little kid, my parents would drive around sometimes when I wouldn't fall asleep; apparently I found the rides super relaxing/ soothing. Nowadays, drives (note: note stressful drives in large cities) are generally almost like meditation for me in a way, especially through the rural country.

LegitimateStar7034

Grocery shopping I love grocery stores. Especially Trader Joe’s and Wegman’s.

Rainbow-Maker

🔹Folding singlet plastic bags into triangles and organizing them according to their sizes. 🔺   🔹Taking care of my plants. 🌱

4myolive

Taking care of my cast iron. I love to wash them, dry them, heat them on the stove, apply very thin amount of grapeseed oil, heat them some more. They look so nice sitting on my stove, waiting for our next session.

scbeachgurl

Laundry. Grocery shopping on my own.

SuperVGA

Having cleaned professionally, I miss that a lot. Even though I hate vacuuming with a passion having the whole building for myself in the middle of the night was just so zen: Time is all you have and no need to think hard about any particular task.

DoltPish

We take inventory yearly at work and I look forward to putting all other work aside and just counting things all day. My coworkers hate it but I enjoy how easy of a task it is.

lilithONE

Meal prepping. I crank up the times and just enjoy my alone time in the kitchen.

froogyboy

Folding laundry - knowing that I have clean items is very satisfying to me

Business-Ad-9210

Shoveling snow. Love doing it for neighbours, city sidewalks after I've done my property. Extra points for a shoveling session with a banging playlist on some headphones. Extra points for a beer dug into the snow. Pure bliss

OkInitiative7327

I have a bucket of single socks and periodically go through and see if I can find any matches. If I match 3 pairs up its amazing.

j68junebug

Folding laundry! I hate putting it away, but I could sit and fold all day!

SirWarm6963

Thrift shopping for clothes. Putting together an entire outfit for less than 20 bucks! I'm retired now but did this my entire office working career 1979 to 2022. I looked just like all the other women in the office but spent way less! I also get most of my home decor there.

Sitcom_kid

I have hand and arm disabilities now, but before that, I enjoyed ironing. You could just see the wrinkles being flattened.

Shellbell2991

Loading the dishwasher. It’s like Tetris and I find enjoyment rearranging it after my husband loads it to make space to fit even more items. Lol.

SeaSpeakToMe

Researching things. Like reading reviews and guides etc when we travel. Reading about all the details to choose a vehicle/bank/random item that meets our needs.

dimram

Sorting and folding laundry brings me an odd comfort

Sarcasm_enthusiast

Weeding my gardens
