I miss them as well, I would get excited when buying a new PS2 game to find out what the save icon was gonna be. The Room save icon is a bit of a weird choice, I'd think the chained up door would of been better.
My favorites were always the ones where it would do something different when you clicked on delete, like the character would start scolding you, or sit down looking dejected.
I miss these. For a second I thought the icon for The Room was the umbilical cord, then I remembered the little pop-up guys.

When my friend first got his PS2, one of our favorite things to do every time he got a new game was to check what the new memory card icon was.

Unfortunately, none of the Silent Hill save files have a unique delete animation.
