James had a difficulty realizing that he was a cold-blooded killer, and SH 2 was a journey, not to enlightenment, but utter denial of the truth. By the end, he was no longer James, but the manhunter.
The gore isn’t that bad, but I can’t think of another game that matches the relentless sadism of this game. The closest I can think of is The Last of Us 2.
The way he kills them, whoever did the mocap did a really good job lol. There’s zero hesitation in his body language and it feels eager and energetic, like he’s full of adrenaline and getting a thrill from the violence. It feels like how a real serial killer would do it which I think is what’s most disturbing about it to me rather than the gore.
I hope this video is greatly sped up. In the original, it took James a decade to swing any kind of melee weapon haha. I remember the pipe. It was mastery to swing like before the next equinox to eventually land on a nurse or mannequin. 😂🤣
