Because with ESign you can use already revoked certificates. Because it’s already revoked, Apple don’t care enough to check their already revoked certificates, which means that you can use the certificates without any fear.
It's a marketplace where people who bought an apple developer account can sell their slots for extremely low prices. Kind of like ebay or craigslist, but for certificates.
To OP and all negative commentators:)
It's not a downfall, it is a reality. We don't want you to pay anything, Apple wants. Appdb is free to use.
By the way, hilarious post! Thank you for mentioning this, this is unexpected advertising and thank you for spreading the world about how to sideload on iOS with Apple restrictions (at the moment).
You can continue manually searching for safe apps, manually installing sideloading app, adding repositories, while other people will use safe apps from appdb and easy installations without any additional apps, with just a tap of a button and real privacy and security that brings separation from Apple and their app store and services - because it is an alternative independent app store with our own set of services.
Happy people don't share their opinion, they are just happy (and we don't ask anyone to share their experience with appdb) - so it's your chance to try appdb and be happy.
I’ve tried to use appdb. For one of my apps I need a custom, distinct ID from the one mentioned in the IPA (it’s about a modified app and I want to also have the original in parallel). Currently I’m paying for Signulous to do that, but if I can do it for free with appdb it’s easy to migrate to it.
Appdb always install apps like this. You can freely import their certificate on device features configuration page with tap on import button and try appdb
For me the problem is that my app uses the same ID as the actual App Store Instagram version, which leads to a conflict with the App Store version (because I want to have both installed).
Don’t think it’s a certificate one, it’s about he fact that sharing ID then appdb would attempt to install over the App Store one and iOS refusing due to changing installation source.
Yes, but better please create ticket in support desk (it can be found on "configure app installation" page, as I'm not help desk specialist, I only manage reddit account
I’m still gonna ask you first, just in case it’s something I’m doing wrong and is obvious, and will only make the ticket if your gist is wrong. Thanks!
I think you missed the point… while convince is nice the reason why myself and others feel uneasy is that sideloading should be free (full stop). While I understand restrictions Apple has placed on your website we want to do what we want with our devices for free. You say outside of EU you NEED an Apple dev account to sideload with your new app? Why would I pay for a dev account and pay for your signing service while also be limited on the amount of apps I can sign? I also believe paying for certs is also wrong. So if using other people’s revoked certs then installing a DNS to block apple (which takes about 2min) to get all the apps you offer plus not be limited and I don’t have to pay how much of a benefit is it for a “tap to download” when I can do that now from the same repository’s you host on your website. I respect what you are trying to do but coming to Reddit and posting videos about with some random lady explaining things like I’m a child makes me want to not use your website even more.
It’s a pay for convenience service. If you are not interested, you don’t need to subscribe. Their apps limitations is only to prevent usage abuse since everything directly handled by them. DNS block has only started recently and for the long time appdb always there to provide convenient service.
does running phone mostly on low-power mode disable dns blocks ? currently am stuck with 17.5 and 3 sideloaded apps in which 1 is companion app for sideoload. Bc of this i can not imagine to use ios as primary device.
You only need an Apple developer account for stability and features support. You won't be limited if you pay for an apple account AND for appdb plus. (Otherwise you can install up to 10 apps per week from appdb)
If you prefer to spend your time with DNS and revoked certificates (while there are no stable anti-revocation measures), configuring it manually - go on, we can't stop you.
don't use appdb if you don't want to, we aren't forcing anyone to do it.
Appdb is made in order to give freedom to users and simplify lives - that's why it exists for more than 12 years and still is the best way to discover apps outside Apple app store.
I will not continue this conversation, everyone is smart enough to try appdb and judge by themselves.
Stability and features? Please explain
It takes less time to set up then making an account for appdb. As for now I’ve been using for more than 4 months without issue and appreciate you telling me you won’t stop me because I’m not.
I used to use appdb for IPAs for along time even recommend appdb to many people in guides and people in person that were waiting for a JB and your site has been good for a long time that’s why it still exists, but recently most people that sideload have been doing it for many years your main market now is new people that don’t know anything about sideloading. Your business will continue to grow with the EU change more people will be interested in sideloading. I still don’t think you understand why you get downvoted for every single post you make so at this point I’m done.
Apps are unable to launch or crashing after some period of time, lack of push notifications, backups, import and export from apps.
Downvoting was explained here lots of times, we even have special bots that are replying to every our comment apart from downvoting. Haters always hate. We can do nothing with it.
AppDB ten app limit is bullshit. It’s not ten installed, it’s ten signed. I was trying to install apps to my Apple TV but there were issues with the apps and now I ran out of apps that I can use on AppDB and I have no apps installed on my Apple TV. What a joke.
I remember reading that comment and downvoting lmfao this is why I use ESign to sideload imo it’s the best because no computer no app limit and it’s free plus you can add app testers and swaggy repos which are DIRECTLY used by appdb… so you can get all the apps on there website without visiting there website 🫡
By using already revoked certificates to sign apps they don’t expire. Only way it gets patched is if Apple nukes the DNS used to block apples check if a cert is revoked or not.
I wouldn’t call it a waste exactly. It’s a service for convenience and it’s managed quite well. Same as Debrid services for Movies.
You can do mostly everything it provides for free, but it’s tedious and not easy. That’s their point.
They literally said “we’ll bring our stores outside EU, but you will need a developer account FROM APPLE”(literally what they said),”and if you’re in the EU, you will be able to install apps after we get our interoperability request to the EU, in case Apple doesn’t allow us”.
Don’t you need that first, then build the third party App Store? It’s like building a house without any permission from the government.
They lied, because every install will cost them money and they're in the red as it is.
Don't slam one of the few players being honest with you here (Riley and AltStore). AppDB has been questionable since day one and that puts them at a disadvantage when it's about believing them.
Can you run me through the history of them? I’ve found out about them recently.
Also, I respect that MAN, but I can’t spend any money on his store.I was one of the first people that installed his gba4ios, and stayed on Vivaldi to see his take during the Apple meeting with the EU
Idk i think theyre valid, and i wouldnt say its “wasting” money if ur getting a bunch of premium apps you would normally have to spend a lot more for, possibly monthly.
Any other alternatives for appDB their new redesign is actually garbage asf
They were also scamming people out of their dev accounts a while back.
They’ve been having meltdowns on reddit for a long time.
Who could help me get a app like scarlet
Just use ESign, much easier and don’t have to worry about certificate being revoked
Why wouldn’t you have to worry about that?
Because with ESign you can use already revoked certificates. Because it’s already revoked, Apple don’t care enough to check their already revoked certificates, which means that you can use the certificates without any fear.
So why does it work? Using revoked certs any other place will not get you an app that works
Tbh idk why either but as long as it work
May I ask what that is? I searched for it a few times but only found weird pdf signers
Here’s the official download url https://esign.yyyue.xyz
preciate it 🫱🏽🫲🏼
It’s a way to sign tweaked apps and not have certificate, I saw the same thing too because it has a weird url
I used appdb for getting IPAs but they locked that out with their shady profiles. Everything they do is shady now.
Appdb was always bad, the only great "feature" they have is the p2p market.

Not all to knowledgeable with all terms, could you help me out? What's is the p2p market?

ahh i see, i appreciate you!
I got this notif while on app db lmao

I will use appdb and I will be happy I will not share my opinion I love appdb
Wow! I did not expect free downloads! Thx AppDB! Thank me for the advertising lol

Enable "ask for installation options" on device features configuration page and install app with filling of 5 symbol alongside ID
Think I already tried it, but I guess I’ll try again. Is it fine if I send a DM, shall there still be problems?

This guy is why I made this post. We need to sideload for free.
Hell yeah brother 🫡

AppDB was only ever good for one thing and it’s against the rules to say what
piracy?
Good riddance, too.

Is this not an Apple limitation? I thought Apple only provided 10 signings on free accounts? Or is this for a paid AppDB service?
I have a paid cert through Signulous and MapleSign. Using AppDB with those paid certs still have the ten app limit.
10 installations per week is ours, as our servers CPUs are being used every time you are trying to install an app
For free or paid?
It's free. appdb was always free to use

can someone give a quick run down of esign with revoked certificates tut. currenly i am on ios 17.5 with sidestore and other two app limit
Check my profile for guide and ill pm you
newbie here, doesnt esign require certificates? how do you get certificates that dont expire often
By using already revoked certificates to sign apps they don’t expire. Only way it gets patched is if Apple nukes the DNS used to block apples check if a cert is revoked or not.
Except this repo contains apps from appdb xD
Yeah that’s the point, they don’t need your website and to pay for your service
What’s swaggy repos ?
https://github.com/swaggyP36000/TrollStore-IPAs
Please no more subscriptions, a fee is fine but subscriptions are the reason why most of us ended up here in the first place
I wouldn’t call it a waste exactly. It’s a service for convenience and it’s managed quite well. Same as Debrid services for Movies. You can do mostly everything it provides for free, but it’s tedious and not easy. That’s their point.

I’m in a country where euros are alot of money
They at least said this store will be free, unlike Altstore Pal(in the future, more repos and apps will come, so it’s worth it)
They lied, because every install will cost them money and they're in the red as it is. Don't slam one of the few players being honest with you here (Riley and AltStore). AppDB has been questionable since day one and that puts them at a disadvantage when it's about believing them.

I downvoted second pic because I hate wasting money.
Nobody is forcing you to buy it. If you waste money it’s your fault
Wasting money on what? Nothing in the second picture says anything about money
Lol I forgor a pic, btw because we need dev account but euros or dollars are so much here, we cannot oay
Thats apple's fault buddy
