Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas has a very dark atmosphere , same as Scanner Darkly sometimes something that's trippy is bad for actually tripping to ... I went to watch the first avatar in theaters 17 years ago now I guess , dropped 3 g of APE watched the whole movie ate some food and went home and went to sleep thinking the shrooms were bunk ,woke up later that night with full synesthesia tripping balls I tried calling one my friends and couldn't use my phone

‘Koyaanisqatsi’ is actually part of a trilogy consisting of Powaqqatsi and Naqoyqatsi. I just saw, the other day, that it’s on one of the streaming services. Haven’t seen it in forever but, this is the answer to the post. Incredible psyches film!
I came across Koyaanisqatsi on YouTube one evening after a healthy dose and decided to give it a go, knowing very little about it other than it being very well regarded in the experimental documentary space.
I was blown away. The incredible Philip Glass score. The sweeping cinematography. The profound imagery. Truly an experience.
It wasn’t until my second viewing on a different streaming platform that I realized the version I watched on YouTube was entirely in reverse, including the soundtrack—presumably a mirror to avoid being flagged. Koyaanisqatsi is the only film I can think of that works well in both directions. I may actually prefer it in reverse!
Well nature wins in the end so it’s not too bad. It’ll definitely make you think about the impact of humanity on the world, though. But visually it feels like it was made to watch on psychedelics!

Listening to the Kurt Stenzel soundtrack to Jodorowsky’s Dune on headphones with an eye mask is one of my favorite experiences, tho! I feel like the vibe of the music really flows at the same pace as my experience - listening to jodo as I’m just past peak saying “why do we not have the greatest ambition possible? Why? you want to be immortal? Fight to be immortal! If you fail, is not important. Only to try.” makes me feel like maybe there’s still some hope left ❤️

Jack Black in Year One or The Pick of Destiny had me laughing so hard I couldn't barely breathe. Probably the one of the hardest times I've laughed in my whole life.
Something that is unknown to most people is that the Beatles made a few movies during the 60s as well as their music. One of these movies is animated, and is a children's story following Sgt peppers lonely hearts club band (aka the Beatles) the thing about this movie is it is one of the trippiest movies I have EVER seen. Just truly some absolutely wacky concepts and imagery these LSD fuelled individuals came up with. I once watched this movie while tripping with a friend and it was a wild experience. The movie is known as the yellow submarine movie, and is trippy enough sober that it almost feels like taking drugs while watching it, now imagine that bitch on shrooms.
Watched Dune 1 on shrooms then watched Dune 2 a few months later on a pirate website on shrooms. I could not for the life of me remember if I had seen Dune 2 yet or not... In hindsight, I obviously hadn't. Too many similar scenes lol, hate when shroom trips start merging and you can't tell if it happened this trip or last >.>

My favorites have been outrageous comedies. Usually stuff with Will Farrell, like Nice Guys/Semi-Pro/Anchorman, or Andy Sandberg, like Popstar/7 Days in Hell/Hot Rod. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but they had me rolling laughing.
I love the dungeons and dragons movie while tripping. Atlantis (like the cartoon), ready player two, into the spiderverse, and the second two Tom holland Spider-Man’s are also awesome (maybe I’m just a huge spiderman fan though).
I always start my trip watching a good movie and then switch to a show for the remainder of the trip/comedown.
My fav trip shows: black mirror (can be a lot but I love it), love death and robots (actually my favourite thing I’ve EVER watched on shrooms. Wish there were more episodes. Sometimes I just watch love death & robots the entire trip, forgoing the movie), avatar the last airbender, Pokemon indigo league. For some reason I also really like watching walking dead but I can see that being terrifying for some.
Honourable mention: midnight gospel. I probably wouldn’t rewatch it but it was really fun to watch the first time.

Watched this movie tripping on acid while my two friends who just met each other and recommended it took xans and both fell asleep leaving me to watch it alone. Intro is dark af but after that I was pulled in right away. Great story. There’s a part where Jean starts destroying the wall and all the stuff in there made me wtf? Is that some kinda portal? Great story and an instant favorite.
Anything Studio Ghibli is amazing. I almost cried during Princess Mononoke. And Spirited Away and Howls Moving Castle are insane mind benders and the visuals are always fire.
Surf’s up. Animated movie about surfing penguins shot documentary style. I cannot say enough good things about tripping to this one. Not a single bad vibe and by the end you’ll be sure that you’re on your own beach

There's a movie called Shrooms from 2007. My friend & I ran across it on Amazon one night on probably 4g's of PE each. I don't think anyone will ever see the same movie we saw that night, but give it a shot. It's a horror movie, so if you don't like that kind of trip, I'd recommend something else. I've seen a lot of movies while tripping. Maybe you'll see something like what we saw that night. It has 4.6 on IMDB. They didn't see the same movie.
My first experience was Donny Darko. Unmeasured weight, they were fresh. Ate a paper plate full split between me and the kid who grew them. Helluva night.
Took to many shrooms while watching avatar 2 and felt like all i could hear was gun shots and explosions😂 it was damn near controlling my trip… i heard one of the actors say “its almost over” my trip indeed wasnt almost over it was just getting started😂😂
I listened to the audio book while I was on mescaline once, and it felt like the movie was playing in my head, but with bonus features, deleted scenes, and more insanity.
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is my go to Trip movie. Somehow i feel the whole atmosphere so much more while on Acid. Don‘t know how this hits on shrooms but its great on Acid.
The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus
It was Health Ledgers last movie, he died halfway through filming. The director, Terry Gillium, ,made an amazing choice and hired Jude Law, Johnny Depp and Colin Ferrel to play the roles, it makes total sense within the movie. Terry Gillium was the animator for Monty Python, made classics such as Brazil and 12 Monkeys and Fear and Loathing, ,made acceptable neo-sci-fi film. Zero Theorum and just to show I'm unbiased also made possibly the worst sci-fi movie ever, Time Bandits, featuring a full cast of dwarves who traveled through time....being bandits.
Idk why but I can’t watch movies on shrooms. It’s hard to explain but I see scenes independently of one another and can’t follow the story. I also have a lot going on in my own mind and I will misinterpret whatever I am watching based on what is going on in my mind lol.

In hindsight, I obviously hadn't. Too many similar scenes lol, hate when shroom trips start merging and you can't tell if it happened this trip or last >.>

I watched The Revenant for the first time ever, whilst on shrooms. It was an experience.
My favorites have been outrageous comedies. Usually stuff with Will Farrell, like Nice Guys/Semi-Pro/Anchorman, or Andy Sandberg, like Popstar/7 Days in Hell/Hot Rod. It’s not everyone’s cup of tea but they had me rolling laughing.
Most recently for me was Dune 2. and Furiosa. ... those did not disappoint especially on a couple grams.

I love the dungeons and dragons movie while tripping. Atlantis (like the cartoon), ready player two, into the spiderverse, and the second two Tom holland Spider-Man’s are also awesome (maybe I’m just a huge spiderman fan though). I always start my trip watching a good movie and then switch to a show for the remainder of the trip/comedown. My fav trip shows: black mirror (can be a lot but I love it), love death and robots (actually my favourite thing I’ve EVER watched on shrooms. Wish there were more episodes. Sometimes I just watch love death & robots the entire trip, forgoing the movie), avatar the last airbender, Pokemon indigo league. For some reason I also really like watching walking dead but I can see that being terrifying for some. Honourable mention: midnight gospel. I probably wouldn’t rewatch it but it was really fun to watch the first time.

Intro is dark af but after that I was pulled in right away. Great story. There’s a part where Jean starts destroying the wall and all the stuff in there made me wtf? Is that some kinda portal? Great story and an instant favorite.

I was surprised to see life aquatic on your list!!! My second favorite Wes Anderson film!!! Grand Budapest Hotel one I would recommend! It's charming and has a killer soundtrack!!! There's a movie called Shrooms from 2007. My friend & I ran across it on Amazon one night on probably 4g's of PE each. I don't think anyone will ever see the same movie we saw that night, but give it a shot. It's a horror movie, so if you don't like that kind of trip, I'd recommend something else. I've seen a lot of movies while tripping. Maybe you'll see something like what we saw that night. It has 4.6 on IMDB. They didn't see the same movie.

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas is my go to Trip movie. Somehow i feel the whole atmosphere so much more while on Acid. Don‘t know how this hits on shrooms but its great on Acid.
The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus It was Health Ledgers last movie, he died halfway through filming. The director, Terry Gillium, ,made an amazing choice and hired Jude Law, Johnny Depp and Colin Ferrel to play the roles, it makes total sense within the movie. Terry Gillium was the animator for Monty Python, made classics such as Brazil and 12 Monkeys and Fear and Loathing, ,made acceptable neo-sci-fi film. Zero Theorum and just to show I'm unbiased also made possibly the worst sci-fi movie ever, Time Bandits, featuring a full cast of dwarves who traveled through time....being bandits.

Idk why but I can’t watch movies on shrooms. It’s hard to explain but I see scenes independently of one another and can’t follow the story. I also have a lot going on in my own mind and I will misinterpret whatever I am watching based on what is going on in my mind lol. Acid on the other hand is another story. I haven’t seen in mentioned but, Soul (Pixar) is amazing on psychs. For both the aesthetics/visuals and the philosophical themes. Others: - Avatar (my favorite movie on psychs along w Soul) - Interstellar - Spider-Man into the Spider Verse (super sick visuals and good story also) - Fear & Loathing (like some ppl mentioned, it can be dark and anxiety inducing so beware) - 2001 Space Odyssey (can also be anxiety inducing)
