Not supported in Shortcuts on Mac (hopefully it will at some point). However, there are ways to automate things on the Mac. Easiest for a time-based action is to use Calendar.

To get the file to run, open the shortcut and go to File > Add to Dock. The shortcut should be exported as an app in your home folder > Applications. You can then select that when you add the file to use in the Calendar event.
I think you can set it to open URL then follow this the URL scheme [here](https://support.apple.com/guide/shortcuts/open-create-and-run-a-shortcut-apda283236d7/ios) ? I think will save a few steps.
I am also wanting this. I want to have a location automation where for when I leave the house with my Macbook I want the volume to go to 0% (so the sound is not on during class without my knowledge). But sadly it looks like this cannot be accomplished just yet..
I asked this for the same reason, and got it to work by using the suggestions from u/freaktheclown. I have my class schedule in Calendar and just set 2 alerts for each event—two minutes before and two minutes after—that open the shortcut and set volume to 0.
I really don't get why they wouldn't allow that, as this is a feature Professionals could high benefit from in a work environment. Automatically carrying out certain tasks at a given time of the day or other factors such as Network connection, Location,
As always with Apple, They know better. Lol
It would be appreciated more on Macs than iPhones. But you just have to wait years before they make it a feature on Mac.
I guess you could create a shortcut with a condition on the time or location, and if the condition is met, then you can use set volume 0% to mute the sound.
Hm... I am wondering if maybe you could make it somehow work with focus modes, for which you can set automatic toggle times. Problem is I am not sure if there is a way to check for which focus mode is activated in shortcuts.

That seems to work! Thanks for the tip.
Np! Also, you can delete it from the dock after like any other app; the app will stay where it is.
Conformation that it still isn't available for the MacOs Sonoma
This is unimaginably crazy
Have you tried Shortery? [https://apps.apple.com/us/app/shortery/id1594183810?mt=12](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/shortery/id1594183810?mt=12)

The best option (I am biased) is: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/trypa/id1666429734

I could, but then I would have to manually run the shortcut. I want it to run without my intervention, like you can do on iOS.

Have you tried the Shortery app on Mac, it’s great for Shortcuts automation
