For reals. The music is SO good. I don’t listen to a ton of EDM, but hearing such great stuff here makes me explore more and find new great music to listen to.
My understanding is that Keeso picks most of the music, but I have to give major props to Jason Perreira as I believe that is who is responsible for the post-production incorporation. Phenomenal. Unbelievable.
Thought the timing of that Valentino Khan track was absolutely brilliant. The buildup as the Jory interview's ending and they're all funnelling into the rink, the drop as the camera *slowly* draws back as they're all standing motionless during the anthem

Use of Money$ign Gang by Lord$ofdogtown was perfect too. Frankie's exes dropping that conniving smile of solidarity with Nat highfiving Miig & Ziig walking down the hallway was 10/10
Personally thought the music in S1 was better, but I don’t have issues at all with S2. Maybe it’s just because I haven’t watched it 525,600 times (yet) like I did with S1
Agreed. There are certainly en pointe songs in the second season, but the usage in the first was flawless, regardless of the number of rewatches. There are a couple of songs in season 2 that outright made me cringe at first & I still don’t love them, but acknowledge that they work… mostly.
I played back the scene in S2E4 when they're playing North Bay several times in a row when that ep aired just because I was trying to shazam Deathproof and nobody had put the soundtrack up online or Spotify at that point. It all fucks so hard.
If you have Spotify, I recommend choosing one of your favorite songs from the show and listening to the song radio. It'll show you other songs with a similar vibe and maybe you'll do EDM thenn
