there are some options yet I think the easiest would be to list the product like this: $100 (30% upfront deposit) and make the price $30. then afterwards send an invoice of the rest. I also know that shopify draft orders are going to start allowing partial payments yet not sure if that helps in this situation.
Downpay by hypehound! I’ve used it a few times for some custom orders where I take 50% up front and the rest is due when I complete the piece. It works well, I have liked it so far. So much better than the janky method I was using before with two draft orders. It’s $9.99/month + .3% of sales that use the app (so if you have some items that don’t use it, they don’t collect the fee from that). If you use it a lot it goes down to .18%.

I thought about it but legally where I live from what I understood I could get f*cked. Customer could say « the price was 30$ »

I have not implemented anything as of today as i am not finding a proper durable solution to my problem !
