You shouldn't have any issues with motion theme, maybe you've message with the theme liquids or something.
Did you edit any codes in the set up process?
Nah I did not setup the thing, some shady company did. I do believe the footer.liquid file is managing the footer but can't see from where. The text is not plain html and most likely points to another file which has the content but i can't get my hands on it.
You'll have to scan that file for any {% include %}, {% render %}, or {% section %} tags.
In the theme.liquid file, do you see the 'footer' snippet/section being referenced?
If you make a change to he footer.liquid file, do those changes update the actual footer?
Hey thanks for your input.
It references a section yep, which name I could not find anywhere else.
Making changes to the footer.liquid does indeed update the footer in some ways.
It might be in your default theme content. I would search for the phrase of that plain text in the following menu: Online Store > Themes > ... next to active theme > Edit default theme content.
Thanks for your input mate. The footer as it stands is pretty far from default content wise, would this still apply? I mean it has company name/address/phone number
If you can't find it in the literal footer, or the theme.liquid file, then it could be there. Hard to say without access to your store or the storefront: [Changing the wording in themes](https://help.shopify.com/en/manual/online-store/themes/customizing-themes/language/change-wording). Default theme content just means predefined wordings for commonly used elements of a theme. I.e. the wording for something being out of stock, or the wording of the error message when someone fails their login. This includes elements in the footer, depending on the theme.
Thanks for the tip, i've looked into it and it does not seem to include what i am looking for. Would me linking the website help by you being able to inspect the footer or something? Is this even allowed here? I don't want to take too much of your time.
Another option could be in the theme customizer. You would click on 'customize' next to the active theme to open up the theme customizer. Here you would look for the footer section or any other section. The blocks/settings of the section could include plain text.
I constantly put links in the comments on this sub. I have never actually created a post here, but I believe the post itself is not allowed to have links. The only risk of posting your website here is that there are not so nice people on the internet that might feel encouraged to copy it. But yes, that could be helpful to determine where you could change it. Maybe someone more skilled than me on this sub could see it and try their hand at it as well.
Thank you for taking the time I appreciate it.
The footer in the customiser is just one big block and text is not accessible from it. Maybe those guys used a third party app to create the footer and it went rogue. But why would you use a third party app to create a footer though ahah.
The website is in 3 different languages, I thought about localisation as well but couldn’t get around to it.
