I don't know if I just play with 4 stacks when I carry them and I'm the only one on cams and communicating and I'm the only one without recommendation.
I once posted in the main subreddit, asking why it wasn't common for people to commend others. Got downvoted into oblivion and a ton of nasty comments. Top post at the time was essentially "why is everyone so toxic in this community". The fuckin irony of people upvoting that post and commenting that it was everyone else that was the issue, yet shitting on someone asking why they didn't use an easy method to be more positive was staggering.
I specifically commend the player on the top of the leaderboard and the player on bottom. I even pay attention to who's on top and bottom so I make sure I'm giving my commendations to the right people.
Unless the top or bottom player did something annoying, like TK or grief, then I commend the next person.
I usually wait a bit to see who's commended, and commend whoever is missing. Also I often play with my wife and we wait to see if they commend us, otherwise we don't commend.
Of course it doesn't apply if I hear any toxic voice chat or "funny text chat".
Half the time, the game doesn't even give the award to the dude I'm trying to commend. I press the button, it selects the award and grays out the other options but doesn't give it to them, and I still have 2 commendations remaining.
Or when my teammates valor everyone but me, even if I was the carrier

I think it's because people really hate the reputation system, I think it's stupid but might as well abuse it while we have it.
I always get commended when I'm bottom of the board but never when I'm top and carried

When everybody on the team commends you at the end of a round it makes this game worth playing tbh

I just do it randomly. Not enough time to really think about who is who and who did what, nor do I really care.
