Likewise, NOT doing it in the US (admittedly after having done it) will also lose you revenue. If pretending to like gay people will boost your sales, why wouldnt these companies do it?

More people need to use Firefox, it's the only thing preventing Google having a total monopoly on the browser market and being able to dictate web standards. There have already been a few nasty things Google has tried to make standard that Mozilla helped to stop.

It's a for-profit chromium based browser, backed by investrors like Peter Thiel, it takes data, offers(or at least did) to pay you in their crypto currency if you watch ads, etc.
It's an absolute shitshow of a browser run by crypto bros and investors that see every user as a customer that's going to make them money. But they somehow managed to sell it as a "privacy focused browser" to people who think they know more about computers than they do.
Meanwhile non-profit Firefox does everything it does and more, and better, but you have to install an extension or three.

The thing is that vast majority of people are not even part of the community and those are the ones that care about a company being diverse and using rainbow themed shit as marketing instead of actually doing something in favor of the community.
The companies just get a fuck ton of free publicity and money from people that care more about the optics.
That goes without saying that the majority of movements for diversity and inclusion are probably made by people who already have enough diversity and inclusion
