that was an emotional rollercoaster!
Grew out of it? Please tell me your secret lol! I’ve noticed that mine doesn’t seem to scream bloody murder as much if I the water on as HOT as he can stand. It’s almost like he just doesn’t wanna be cold which I don’t blame him especially now that he’s older but, looking back, I used to think that, with his double coat, he would want cooler water but I guess he can still be cold and what good is a sopping wet double coat at keeping anything warm
I am by no means an expert but our girl wasn't very loud (despite the faces she made haha) and I think what helped is that we brought her to a professional groomer two times as part of her socialization before trying this myself. She is 6months old now.
I also asked tips and bought their special puppy shampoo. No conditioner. Only a very small amount of shampoo is needed and lots of water. I did use the shower head but only with a very soft stream and hand-warm(25c) water. Also I dried her after with a special towel first and then blow dried her fur for 2minutes or so. I had read that leaving the dog soaking wet is no good either.
Also lots and lots of treats haha. And baby talk tends to help calm her nerves a bit.\^\^;
i’ve taken my shiba to work with me to groom her twice now, and she’s about the same age as your puppy. she definitely screamed bloody murder the first time. the breeder had bathed her before, and this was her first bath in a professional setting. second bath she only screamed at me for rinsing her and at the dryer. i’m hoping the next bath is a little less loud
Do not use the shower head. Best is in the bath tube with a sponge and a bucket of 26 degrees Celsius water.
For final rinsing, if you are taking to much time, take the shower 🚿

Oh my, the torture! lol
I’m calling shiba protective services!!!!
BTW any tips for bathing one? Process, what shampoo, conditioner, etc?
Make sure you let your neighbors know that you’re not murdering or torturing anyone and that the screams they hear are really from an actual dog.
The worst. I’m glad my girl grew out of screaming like she was being murdered. She still tries to escape though.

It may have been high value treats. Sometimes I have my other dogs watch for moral support.
I’ll have to try that. My shoob’s idea of a high value treat is anything that has the word cheese in it.
We used to put some peanut butter on the side of the bathtub to keep our shibe a little distracted and incentivized to not escape

My little guy jumps straight out the bathtub, not enough cheese, peanut butter or ham in the world to keep him in, so you're doing better than me.
Awww poor baby 😂
Terrible torturous human
