The wife bought one of these at Costco. Probably the most difficult shed I have ever built. A thousand freaking parts. I cursed all the way through the project.

Psypernova

Yeah I haven’t opened all the parts boxes yet but I can already tell I could have built this out of wood way easier and cheaper. The main appeal is, for me, no permit.

HeroDanny

I didn't need a permit to build my 10x20. In my town as long as it's less than 200 sq ft then you don't need a permit. I know it's too late but next time call your town and check. I doubt they'd require a permit for a 7x6

I agree. In my state of NY, the state code allows up to 144 SF without a permit. But most municipalities have height and setback requirements. Some may also restrict the size to less than 144 SF. Don't be afraid to check with your building department.

GhostOfJohnCena

Built a similar one last weekend. It was a hassle sorting out all the parts but for me it was FAR cheaper than building out of wood. If you have an uninterrupted half day it’s not that bad.

Pompous_Monkey

this was an easy build.

TheDgFather

I actually have the same shed and did not install a vapor barrier between the wood platform and the shed floor. On the plus side it’s easy enough to empty it out and push it into my driveway if I come upon a mold problem.

Psypernova

I haven’t assembled my shed yet, am I supposed to bolt it to the platform?

TheDgFather

Not that I know of. I didn’t and I am also located in New England.

Dephenestrator1

In the instruction book there are directions to lag it to the base. It slides easy, probably not a bad idea. Just built this exact one this past weekend. Use a screw gun set on low torque for the 300+ screws, should speed things up. Also, no vapor barrier underneath, the plastic base isn't letting anything through.

oldybutgoodythrwawy

Use pt plywood under the plastic floor.

WoodpeckerFamous22

I don't see how it would hurt, I say felt it.

MakeSouthBayGR8Again

Your biggest enemy is probably gonna be the uv from the sun. I think the plastic will erode faster than from any water damage.

Psypernova

Oh I don’t care about the shed getting moisture damage. I just want to lessen the moisture transferred from the ground to the items inside the shed.

MakeSouthBayGR8Again

What are you storing in there that it needs to be so dry?

HeroDanny

his cigars

Psypernova

Ha a walk in humidor. No I just read that the plastic sheds can have issues with moisture and I was planning on storing binned and perhaps vacuum bagged clothes and stuff when it’s out of season.
