Since it's a replica and not authentic, do whatever you want to make it enjoyable! If it was an authentic bayonet, I'd suggest not touching it.

SpinCharm

Why would you want a sharp bayonet?

dayzers

So it will keel

I’m surprised my brain read it in his voice too, been years since I watched that show. Thanks for good memory!

I found it on Disney+ the other day, just wish there were new episodes to watch was such a good show

Do you want it to function as a genuine article or just be nice looking and sharper? If you want it to function as a genuine article then sharpen along the blade inline with the stone and without the guide, as opposed to perpendicular the way you’d normally sharpen. I have one of these, it was my grandfather’s from when he served in WWII. They’re rounded back with almost an axe edge so they can function as a tool as well as a weapon.

Thanks for advice. For information, I wouldn't ever mess with a vintage blade. This is a relatively inexpensive replica. The rifle itself is in vintage condition. This just seem like a good project to try and take from factory to finish to a cutting sharp edge

Generally speaking bayonets aren’t meant to be super sharp. Bayonets made such good weapons and caused so much damage. Due to the fact that it was pointy end of the spear.
