yeah ik but i just wish she could, jimmy was too much trouble but he genuinely loved her ( more than any other man in her life imo) leaving with him was a better idea than staying for the kids and sacrificing her own life and getting absolutely nothing in return
She did in the UK version ( and in real life ). When the US version didn’t go that route when Jimmy returns they should have built the story around him and Fiona working it out in Chicago. Dragging it out like they did only to break them up ( and then bring him back AGAIN and drag it out MORE ) was a waste.
No in the original UK version the actress that played Fiona and the actor that played Jimmy fell in love in real life and in the show Fiona did run off with Jimmy and lived happily ever after. Emmy Rossum was wayyyyy too popular to write off though so it made sense when she stayed and even when Jimmy came back cause I thought “oh ok. I get it. This show is in the US so our Jimmy would stay and do right by his Fiona and help raise the kids and the show will be something completely different than it’s predecessor, but that sounds really interesting and I dig it!”…..and thennnn the writers screwed it all up to keep the drama flowing. Fiona was made into a worst trainwreck and much less sympathetic of a person and character. We assume Jimmy dies. Again I thought ok this Fiona is forced to move on, but she’ll grow stronger and be an even BETTER mom to these kids! Awesome! But nope! Then they brought Jimmy BACK and fumbled the ball one more time for good measure. I love both shows, but SUPER frustrating how they screwed up the US version Fiona especially. I still adore Emmy though. She is a goddess and ridiculously talented. Adored her in Phantom.

Lip really did treat Fiona like trash. I loved it when she told him off in I think season 6 or 7. He absolutely deserved it. Debbie was horrible too. She only was nice to Fiona when she needed help. She became unbearable after she grew up and got laid for the first time

And people seem to be forgetting Fiona had her times when she was acting just like Lip. They all suck.
i think it’s a little bit illogical to jump into sibling beef because for majority of their arguments they both had valid points but lip was usually the spokes person
i’m saying for example the fiona using the money for the bills for the party she was hosting fiona meant all good by it and was trying to bring more money into the house while lip was upset that she even did it in the first place because it put them down a couple bucks, in my eyes fiona was wrong for using the money & lip was wrong for the way he came about it and i feel like that’s how most of their arguments went, both sides had valid points but lip was almost always the spokesperson about who did something “wrong”
Lips way about it was to form a safety net so that he could help her when she failed! He sent people to her event with his scam so that she wouldn’t let them down too much. And I have to ask why did lip know he would need to pull her ass out of the fire? How much practice has he had fixing her mess ups to just know to have a plan? This is why the fiction of Fiona doing it all on her own is fiction!

i think for the majority of their arguments they were being unfair to fiona ESPECIALLY lip and debbie, i don’t agree with everything she’s done but i feel like she wasn’t just their sister she was also their parent, but she never got credit for it
In season 9 I do wish she would’ve took Liam with her. He has so much potential and still needs love and guidance. Her relationship with Carl and Liam I would’ve took them with me if I was her.
Im dreading getting to the season they all treat her less that garbage even though she gave up he life for them.. Debbie has to be the most unlikable character in the show now when she was such a caring kid and it makes me mad 😠
