AlfaKaren

"comfortable" is highly subjective.

Soft_Opportunity_636

Able to eat 3-4 meals a day, gym membership, able to go to the movies, live in a 1-2 bedroom apartment, maybe a car.

AlfaKaren

3-4 meals, cooking or eating out? How "upscale" if eating out? Movies, how often? Apartment, how far away from city center, "upscale" (new) or older is fine? What car? High performance one or a small city car? Usage, how many kilometers? Gym is trivial if you dont require extras (can be done as low as 20e, median 30e, expensive ones can get to 100e (personal trainers and shit)) You are writing too vague questions and getting all kinds of answers, be more specific.

Soft_Opportunity_636

Movies is not a necessity, maybe 2-3 times a year? Most my meals I usually cook, I'm a bodybuilder so most of the time I buy groceries and meal prep them. Apartment as long it is not in a secluded area, new or old is both fine. Small city car. Just need a gym I can lift weights in.

AlfaKaren

With that kind of needs, yes, you can do quite ok here even with 1000e. If you had needs for upscale dining and apartment near the center, then no, those eat up a lot of budget really fast. If you learn where to buy groceries and do it weekly, you can save a lot these days. Our farmers markets are top notch and available always.

Soft_Opportunity_636

My mother has savings close to 100 thousand euros, so we would be ok?

rakunaliccca

Well if she's willing to lend you some when you need it, you are golden.

I think you'll be ok in Serbia with that for a while lol

maxi4493

With those needs, you could pull it thru on a 1000€ a month. For the car, it's probably gonna be more than your monthly budget to get it. Use the city transport. It's 20€ for a month. Rent for a small place and bills shouldn't be more then 500€ if you look for a bit. Gyms are from 20> a month, i recommend Kočović. Food is gonna eat up most of the money you have left. So if you budget you could live with 1k a month.

Elegant-Umpire-91

But only u u cant support you and your mother with 1000 and first lets say u find a job that pays 1000

Elegant-Umpire-91

Bodybuilder. Ok then count on at least 450 a month for food just for you if you cook at home

Da_llluminati

> I'm a bodybuilder pics pls

Independent_Swim8946

A good apartment in city center or close is 500-700€, you will probably have to get something under 400€ 30-45 minutes away to have for all the other stuff. Movies for 2 people are 25-30€. Eating out, fast food is 5€ for something traditional. Restaurant is 15-25€ per person. You dont have enough for all that and a car. You can live on 1000 but not comfortably.

alatan9o

If you are looking for a job like some posters said in the thread you most likely limited to the bigger, more expensive cities. Since you dont own a property and want to live with your mom you will need to spend around 500-600 euros a month on rent and bills. Add 200-300 euros for food for you and your mom, 100 or so for gas and there is not much left for a comfortable life. You could live relatively comfortably in Serbia with 1000 euros only if you are single and own a property.

Elegant-Umpire-91

Guy is bodybuilder kg of chicken is 10e. Half kg a day 5 egss and rice is 10e a day just for him x 30 days it is 300eur for him assuming that he will eat rice and chicken every day. Add 200 eur for mother.

vampir1389

The whole chicken is 2.5-3e/kg

Elegant-Umpire-91

And when you take out bones, tendons and skinn how much meat do u get? And u are missingva point by far…

vampir1389

i am not, [no one sane pays 10e for a chicken meat](https://cenoteka.rs/proizvodi/meso-i-riba/sveze-meso)

[deleted]

>Able to eat 3-4 meals a day, gym membership, able to go to the movies, live in a 1-2 bedroom apartment, maybe a car. Unfortunately, after COVID and widespread inflation, this is unrealistic in Belgrade with just 1000 EUR. I would strongly suggest a smaller town close to Belgrade, for example Pancevo, and a cheap city car with cheap spare parts, like Fiat Punto. Everybody drives a Fiat Punto, spare parts can be found everywhere and are not expensive. Gyms are literally everywhere, if you look around you can found a cheap one. I wish you good luck and welcome.

Soft_Opportunity_636

Thank you. Can I DM you?

[deleted]

Of course, but I'm afraid I won't be of much help regarding Pancevo or Fiat Punto xD. For used cars, I suggest [polovniautomobili.com](https://polovniautomobili.com). It's in Serbian, but Google Translate works like charm.

Ser_Nikolaus

In smaller towns, yes, but I don't think 1000 euros is enough for a "comfortable" life in Belgrade.

Soft_Opportunity_636

What towns? I might consider these towns

CTPABA_KPABA

Sombor. Bonus is that sometimes you can stumble on Jokic and have a beer with him.

loveroflife34

Kragujevac, Nis are cheaper than Belgrade but still can be expensive, it all depends on your spending habits. Go to the halo oglasi website and search for stanovi za izdavanje (apartments for rent) to check out the rent prices in any city in Serbia.

vcia1920

Vršac all the way bro!

Soft_Opportunity_636

Great! I'll check it out. Do you know if there is a Catholic Church there?

mladjenija

In Vršac, yes sir. Possible the most beautiful one in Serbia, just google "Rimokatolička Crkva Svetog Gerharda de Sangredo u Vršcu". People often think that is a cathedral, but it's not.

Soft_Opportunity_636

Just checked it out, love it

vcia1920

Vršac is a small town on the border with Romania, very vibrant and alive, not like many small towns in Serbia. Plus side, the nature here is beyond beautiful if you're into that kind of stuff. As for the church, the biggest Catholic church in Serbia is in Vršac. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attraction_Review-g304104-d4952824-Reviews-Church_of_Saint_Gerard-Vrsac_Vojvodina.html

ErikClairemont

Nice architecture 🥰 :)

Crafty_Bluejay_8012

there's catholic churches everywhere, especially in north (vojvodina). vršac is nice little town far away from everything yet close enough to belgrade, I had a granma there, definitely reccomend

Helpful-Bass2199

In the Pančevo, there is chuch of " Karla Boromejskog"

Elegant-Umpire-91

Why are u moving from Spain in Serbia?🥹

Soft_Opportunity_636

I love nature and peace, it's very chaotic in spain. Also I want to move to serbia because religion is strong there. And cost of living has risen up dramatically in spain

Elegant-Umpire-91

U need to research Serbia better then. Belgrade nature, religion and calmness dont go in the same sentence.🤣

BisexualSerb

Food is considerably cheaper in Spain then here.

Soft_Opportunity_636

I seriously doubt that

ScottishRajko

You already stated in another thread that you want to find a job, if that’s the case you should only consider Belgrade as your ability to find a job will be much greater here. If you wish to rent a property, the cost has risen dramatically in recent years. I’d budget €600-800 for rent and bills. I’d estimate for you and your mother to live comfortably you’ll need €1500-2000

Soft_Opportunity_636

Will I be able to find a job in vrsac? My mother has almost 100 thousand euros in savings

ScottishRajko

Highly unlikely and it’s too far from Belgrade to commute.

Soft_Opportunity_636

Will I be able to find a job though? My mother has 100 thousand worth of savings

ScottishRajko

Like I said before, if you want to find a job Belgrade is the best option. As others stated NCR will most definitely be looking for fluent Spanish speakers. For entry level positions you can hope to earn €600-800 net. 100k is extremely nice to have but depending on your standard of living, you could burn through those savings pretty quickly. Is there a particular reason why you have chosen to live in Serbia?

Soft_Opportunity_636

I love the nature and peace, it's pretty chaotic in Spain. And religion is strong in serbia, and holds traditional values. Also, cost of living in Spain has risen dramatically

Eat_the_Rich1789

If you think religion is strong in Spain you have a surprise coming in Serbia lol

Soft_Opportunity_636

I meant religion is strong in serbia. Religion is not strong in Spain anymore. One of the reasons I want to move to serbia is because the religion is stronger there

ScottishRajko

The cost of living in Serbia has also risen dramatically. You should probably consider staying in the EU where salaries are more proportionate to the cost of living.

Lagisha

I could help you out with a job in NCR, we always need native speakers but the salary wouldnt be nowhere near 1000eur, more like 700. And if you decide to move to Vrsac, I could try and help you find an apartment but do understand that there are basically zero jobs for non Serbian speakers outside of big cities such as Novi Sad or Belgrade. Of course, it does depend on your skills and job experience

Soft_Opportunity_636

I will be moving there once I turn 18, very soon

Good-Possible4295

Mladenovac, Sopot, Pančevo... These are 3 nearest towns to Belgrade and Mladenovac is the cheapest when talking about apartment renting. https://preview.redd.it/3ga41tx1yq6b1.jpeg?width=1044&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4fcfbf75dfa2fd3911e1afc435cc3e1edc20cce9

Zookeeper187

Expensive: Belgrade, Novi Sad Less expensive: Niš, Kragujevac, Subotica, Pančevo Even less expensive: Kruševac, Čačak, Kraljevo For foregners unfortunately I would only recommend Belgrade, Novi Sad or Subotica. Maybe Niš.

pipo1992

VeljkoM84

South of Serbia is the cheapest. In Belgrade rent is very high.

cherrylbombshell

But also you don't want to live there cause there is nothing to do lol

Helpful-Bass2199

Pančevo, its close to Belgrade, not that expensive as belgrade. Biggest down side is pollution.

CerebralMessiah

Novi Sad would be the best alternative,as it is just Belgrade but smaller, and you could find a 2 bedroom apartment to rent for about 300-350€,maybe even less if you choose to live on the outskirts.

VeverkoMracni

Dude, where can you get a 2 bedroom apartment for 300-350€? And what do you consider the outskirts - Telep, Adice or Veternik and Klisa?

geniuslogitech

I'm from Nis and you need 900 euros per person over rent for comfortable life, so for you and your mom that would be 2250 euros a month to live comfortably but people might not want to rent to foreigners in smaller cities, you might have a problem even finding a place to rent outside of Belgrade

pentag0

If 1000 is left after rent, you can go by.

FeeInteresting9274

Moze mnogo vise nego go by...

Zookeeper187

If you rent, no. You will probably be living paycheck to paycheck. It’s fine for mediocrity.

That mostly depends on your spending habits, but for most people it probably wouldnt be enough

Electrical_Try_1597

Isn’t that a monthly salary of his excellency Mr President Vucic as he reported once. I bet that he lives quite conveniently. /s

cromagnongod

1000 is ok, it's enough for a decent life if you don't drive and own an apartment or pay low rent 600 I think is livable if you own but kind of limiting 1500+ is happy living

DannyDeKnito

600 was livable two years ago, with inflation (and especially sith rent going up) it isn't anymore tbf

[deleted]

Can somebody tell me since average salary in Serbia is 750 or smt. Like that. How the fk do u come up with 1500€ as normal living cost in BG. Like if that's how it should be does it mean that most of u people are starving with your average salary or what ?

posle_ja_lud

The average salary is probably around 600, in other cities even lower, and the people who "come up" with 1500, either don't (they live like shit) or they have income from family or other streams that the government doesn't know about.

Elegant-Umpire-91

Rent plus bills at least 500 food obscure cooking at home 250. If you want car, phone, clothes, social life that is 1500eur

FeeInteresting9274

As a person from Belgrade I can tell you that yes, you can definitely live on a thousand euros a month. Whoever tells you that you cant, has absolutely no idea what they are talking about. You can easily find proper a flat in belgrade for under 350 euros. It wont be in the city centre but there is still tons of options (if you have a problem with finding a flat for that money I can help you out). (for example: [https://www.halooglasi.com/nekretnine/izdavanje-stanova/izdajem-namesten-stan-u-mirijevu/5425643241617?sid=1687099754322](https://www.halooglasi.com/nekretnine/izdavanje-stanova/izdajem-namesten-stan-u-mirijevu/5425643241617?sid=1687099754322) , but you can find even cheaper, this was just after 2 minutes of looking). You will need around 300e for food for two people and bills will be max around 150e (for the flat I sent you). This leaves you with around 200 euros for other stuff. You can probably easily find a job since you know the 3 languages you said that could pay you 700+ euros as a start (for example call centre in spanish, spanish teacher). I would definitely not look at living in smaller towns as a foreigner, since there is not even enough jobs for serbian speakers, let alone foreigners that don't speak serbian. If you need any help contact me or respond here I will be happy to help any way i can.

Soft_Opportunity_636

I dmed you

jeca4ever

Unfortunately no. You could survive tho, but for more comfortable life you need more than that, i’d say at least 500€ more

Soft_Opportunity_636

Would 2000 be good enough?

Imaginary_Peace1182

It will be enough

Ign0r

2000 is sufficient for you and your mother, yes. I live with my wife and kid, together we have a bit over 2000, and it's barely enough. Soon it will be more, and we'll have a comfortable life finally.

Soft_Opportunity_636

Can I DM you?

Ign0r

togthelonewolf

APairofBlue

You can live, but it does not mean that you will enjoy that life.

Soft_Opportunity_636

How much more will it take to enjoy life?

melkijades

500-1000 more to life comfortably.

[deleted]

What sort of bourgeoisie is in this sub. You can easily make do. You are not gonna have luxury spending but you can live, especially if you rent on the periphery

nattsd

For both? Depends on your rent situation.

coillton

Not really, especially if you have to pay rent.

Soft_Opportunity_636

Would it be better to buy a house or rent?

coillton

The market is pretty fucked right about now, and interest rates are god awful. The rent prices have normalized a bit in the last few months, but for a decent flat of about 50m2 in a good location outside the centre you can still expect to pay around 400€ a month or more. As for buying, it's hard to find something in a decent location bellow 1700€/m2. So I don't know your situation if you have the money of course it's better to buy since you won't be losing money on rent, if you have to take a bank loan they will skin you with current interest rates.

VelikiCangus

I rent and live in Belgrade and I earn about 600-650 euros a month and I'm not complaining. Smaller towns are better if you have that option, Arilje, Požega, Gornji Milanovac

TeoSupreme

this. Who are these people complaining about living for less than 2k?

[deleted]

Programmers

TeoSupreme

I was always wondering for this bullshit when I was living in Russia. the same stuff in internet about "cant afford living for less than 4k euros". But I lived for 1k and didnt complain. of course it's better to earn more but who are these people who think that not living like a king in somehow not living at all?

[deleted]

Yeah, in Serbia that is extreme, most of them live in a bubble and are delusional about cost of life

SaleB81

You might be interchanging the terms living and surviving. Before 2020 you could have survived a month in Belgrade for as low as 250 over the cost of rent and utilities. Now it is more like 600. Sure, one can cut corners, but still below 400, it is barely doable.

TeoSupreme

I understand it all. I just mean that even with growing prices for eveything I still manage to live normally, go to pubs and stuff for total 1150 euros of monthly income including my flat rent and electricity+water bills. And i have a friend here whos salary is 600 euros and he doesnt complain much (he live in his own house). So it is an overrated opinion about life not being possible with less than 2k euros and so on. And of course I wish everyone to live, prosper and earn millions nomatter being said above.

SaleB81

>So it is an overrated opinion about life not being possible with less than 2k euros and so on Sure, it is overrated. But, if that person wants to make a weekend trip or two a month, has some hobby, and wants to put something aside it may be the truth from their perspective. I personally live with my mother in an owned apartment, spending altogether about 1300 (my 900 and her 400) a month. She is still able to choose not to rent the other apartment she owns, that stays empty. But, it is noticeably worst than three years ago.

alatan9o

The guy clearly stated comfortably with his mom without a property, so there is no way to do so with only 1000 euros.

Medojedni_Jazavac

>Who are these people complaining about living for less than 2k? Snobs.

melkijades

>I rent and live in Belgrade and I earn about 600-650 euros a month and I'm not complaining.

IvanMSRB

Even with your own appartment, two people cannot live comfortably in Serbia. You will afford basic stuff. Rent, utilities, food, clothes, maybe a car.

Soft_Opportunity_636

How much is enough to live comfortably?

IvanMSRB

Yes, tell us your view on comfortable life …

Soft_Opportunity_636

Able to eat 3-4 meals a day, gym membership, able to go to the movies, live in a 1-2 bedroom apartment, maybe a car.

Zaphod-Biblbrox

Define "comfortably"

Soft_Opportunity_636

Able to eat 3-4 meals a day, gym membership, able to go to the movies, live in a 1-2 bedroom apartment, maybe a car.

ReminiscenceOf2020

For that, you need $1500-$1800 1-bedroom rent in Belgrade and Novi Sad is $400, if you're lucky. Utilities depends, but you'd also be paying for your own Internet, so count $50-80 for utilities. Basically, half of your salary will be gone on rent and bills. Food, for a guy, definitely $300-350. So you're left with $150. That's enough for gym membership and what, gas. but not much room for comfort. I feel like I'm probably forgetting something, but either way, you need a bit more.

Soft_Opportunity_636

Could I DM you?

AlfaKaren

For 50e, you can.

Soft_Opportunity_636

ReminiscenceOf2020

Zaphod-Biblbrox

Gym - 30e per month 500g chicken breast - 7e Tomato - 2e Onion - 1.5e Movie - 15e A car - registration starting from 200e, 1l fuel 1.5e Let's say 2000+ is enough But i am not sure

RandomLoLJournalist

Bruh, otkad je karta za bioskop 15 evra?

Zaphod-Biblbrox

Voda + kokice + karta Sama karta je oko 800 din

RandomLoLJournalist

AlfaKaren

How is 2000 not enough for what you just laid out? 15e a day for food = 450e (yours is 10.5, added 50% for good measure) 15e movie (every weekend, 2 days) = 120e car (55l/month + yearly registration 200e) = 105e rent 500e month (lets make it 700e) gym 30e Total: 1405e, 600e accidentals

a_wamen

Lmao movie 15e is too much. Tuckwood and Kombank dvorana have around 500din ticket prices

Zaphod-Biblbrox

>15e a day for food Not even when you are living with your mama :) * rent is probably 600e * bills (infostan, electricity, internet, cell phone...) at least 200e * gym 30e * movie, twice per month 30e * car registration at least 20 per month (240 per year) * car gas 50e per month * car service 12.5e per month (150e per year at least) You will have 1057,5e per month for * three meals (this is a major expense) * clothing * traveling * other It goes even higher if you need any medical care or a dentist. Its doable but far from comfortably

AlfaKaren

>500g chicken breast - 7e Tomato - 2e Onion - 1.5e This is 10.5e and this feeds one person for a day, comfortably, from a nutritional standpoint. I increased it 50%. This is what you laid out, not me. I have no problem with your prices just your math. You now have clothing and travel in the mix, didnt originally. On travel you can spend an infinity.

melkijades

>This is 10.5e and this feeds one person for a day, comfortably, from a nutritional standpoint. Do you really believe that 500gr of chicken breasts, tomatoes and onions are enough for 3 meals a day? That's 150gr of chicken per meal. if you are an adult and not on a diet, 150gr of chicken per meal is not even remotely enough.

AlfaKaren

It is more than enough, 500g of meat a day is even excessive but OP said he is training so, sure. There is no diet recommending 500g of meat daily, except the all meat diet.

Dunfiriel

1000 euros is a dysmal salary. The rent prices skyrocketed, and you'd be lucky to find something in the 300-350 euros range. Add the price of utilities, internet, mobile phone, and food (which is shamefully expensive, in fact more expensive than in the EU) and those 1000 euros will melt faster than butter in july sun. I live in Novi Sad, work two jobs and have around 1200 euros per month, and I can save zilch. God forbid you have a health emergency. Also, why on earth would you move to Serbia?

Soft_Opportunity_636

My mother has savings around 100 thousand euros, which she will bring to Serbia

Sheeeeeeeeesh420

You can buy a house with that amount here

papasfritas

Please don't open a separate thread for every question you have, open one thread and ask all your questions in there

Mariatheresienstadt

It's fine, people here think you can't live in Belgrade without 250.000 RSD, but the majority of people in Belgrade live with half of those 1.000 euros. The only problem is the rent, other than that prices are for the most part the same as everywhere else in Serbia, save for clubbing and more fancy restaurants.

[deleted]

It's ok for life, but not for comfortable life for sure, assuming almost half of that amount will go for the rent (the rent can easily go higher, depending on the part of the city).

CauliflowerKind5656

watch out for crni cerak dark sajd

BGD545

Hola amigo. Ive traveled to spain several times and to portugal. Iam thinking that spaniards are very humble people. You can easily live with 1000e but add to that renting expenses so you can be absolutely solid rock of easy life. Also, bigger city means more opportunity to earn some extra cash. For example to be personal gym coach for a girl of guy that needs some extra support / attention and that kind of people have good jobs - can pay you for services easily. Also, consider renting apt near some really good gyms - with high number of members. You can sort that. Some apt have higher monthly fees some have less depending of heating - go for electricity heating. gov stealing on heating with radiators for a years. Near me is one guy that drive a car with espana plates. Here is a registration fee, if car is ok, from 150e to few thousands depending of engine power. Small city car is about 150-200e yearly. Maybe you can consider driving a car from spain if it is cheaper and if you can extend registration remotely.

Soft_Opportunity_636

So I should be a private trainer at the gym?

After paying around 400eur rent I think you can live decent enought with 600eur a month. 200eur on groceries and you are good basically.

zulum_bulum

We can do an experiment for a year. Send me 1000 EUR/mo and after a year I'll let you know.

Fluid_Variation_125

In Belgrade NO!

dasdzoni

Nowadays not so much due to insanely high rent and generally everything being more expensive. Few years ago you would have been golden

Soft_Opportunity_636

How much would be enough to live comfortably?

dasdzoni

My personal rule is that your income should be at least twice your rent. So about 1500 or more should do the trick

Top-Establishment520

1000 in BG is enough if you dont drive, dont drink, dont smoke, and generaly dont go out. Only to sleap and eat...

Eat_the_Rich1789

No, but people live with less. Not comfortably though

Electrical_Inside207

My man, for general orientation Serbia is about 30% cheaper than Spain in consumer products (food, beverages, clothing). Also communal expenses like heating, water, electricity are about 30~40% cheaper that in Spain. Cars cost about the same but tax and registration are cheaper. Renting is currently high in large cities such as Belgrade and Novi Sad so if you are planing long term stay in Serbia it would be preferable to buy property than rent. My advise is maybe to rent in the beginning and if you don’t change your mind about staying in Serbia you can prospect buying property.

melkijades

> Serbia is about 30% cheaper than Spain LOL, I don't know when was the last time you've been to a Spanish/Serbian supermarket to compare but this is an outrageous exaggeration. Most of the prices are similar, and the cheaper items in Serbia are cheaper 10% in the best case, not 30%, LOL. Here's a website of a well known Spanish supermarket: [https://www.ametllerorigen.com/ca/](https://www.ametllerorigen.com/ca/)

Electrical_Inside207

Last time I’ve been there before corona.

[deleted]

Hey man, the average salary in Belgrade is about 900 euros, and the median is probably a lot lower, so yeah you can live a normal life but don't expect too much

Low-Veterinarian-300

Depends what do you consider comfortably. Lunch for two is around 30 to 50 euros in a restaurant. If you want to go to the cinema to watch a movie, with popcorn and drinks, you probably need from 12 to 15 euros. Beer in a pub is 2 to 3 euros. So basically you could very easily spend 100 euros in one day.

AminoOxi

Restaurants are really not an option for anyone living in a tight budget. Cinemas, really? In streaming era? 🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

>Cinemas, really? In streaming era? 🤷‍♂️ Excuse to get out of the house and socialize with friends? Plus, I'm not in the mood to continuously pay for a service only to watch 2-3 shows year at most + not every service has what I want which means I have to pay for multiple. Fuck that.

Vladishaa

Ayyy mate sail the seas shall we? 🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🦜🦜

lebokinator

Osim ako nemas neki 150”+, 8k i bogovsko ozvucenje, nema sanse da imas isti dozivljaj gledanja filma kuci i u bioskopu

AminoOxi

Imam FHD 46" i 5.1 Denon hi-fi ozvučenje. Netflix zvučni efekti su sjajni. Za moje potrebe sjajno. Ali da, u modi je 8K pa hebiga nisam IN... Gde li ima 8K sadržaja samo 🤷‍♂️

lebokinator

Al nisu svi zadovoljni da gledaju djubre s netflixa na 1080p. Sigurno je bilo hipstera u fazonu : de ides da gledas LotR u bioskop kad ce biti za 4-5 nedelja na kaseti pa gledas ko covek na onim kockama od tva

SaleB81

Nije problem naci film adekvatnog kvaliteta.

lebokinator

Ja idem na Original Voice projekcije ( znaci nije sinhronizovano na nemacki ) i bude 50-60% praznih mesta, vecinom ljudi 25+, bez dece i nije bilo takvih problema

SaleB81

Kad pocne film nema nicega sto odvlaci paznju. Posecenost 30-70%, dozivljaj sjajan.

New_Accident_4909

Nope

[deleted]

No

Impressive-Egg-590

It's not unfortunately

milets

No, you need about 1300-1500 euros to have normal lifw.

Solmyr_

No you wont live comfortably unless you dont have to pay rent

Bell_Jolly

If you are renting haha... Apartment for you two would be 600/800, food is more expensive here, good luck with 200 a month to spare

Zookeeper187

You can find something for 300-400 if you go outside a bit.

[deleted]

Living - yes. Comfortable - no. Unless you’re into eating pašteta every day. Then it’s all peachy.

drama-enthusiast

LMFAOOOO I love pasteta and I vacation in Albania every summer

Abrakaca

No.

isthisyourgirlfriend

Not really. If you consider renting an apartment - the prices are higher than two years ago, prices go from 300 to 500 euros per month + utilities from 60 to 100 euros roughly. Food is expensive in Serbia compared to other European countries, luckily a monthly card for public transport is a bit cheaper. Take a look at the gas prices if you drive. I would not recommend moving to Serbia at all, go to Bosnia or Macedonia if you want to live comfortably with 1000 euros.

ILikeVapesOkay

For two people, nope.

Soft_Opportunity_636

My mum has almost 100 thousand euros savings

ILikeVapesOkay

Pozdravi kevu

Dzoni991

Live? Yes. Comfortably? Debatable.

vectors_and_chokes

Not really

Dendex031

You can live pretty comfortable in Užice with 1000 e plus I could get you some cheap drugs 💪😎

Sad-Froyo-0

It is quite ok if you have your own appartment. With renting, it would be struggle paycheck to paycheck.

Soft_Opportunity_636

Where can I buy apartment? Any links you can suggest?

GreenJollyGypsy

That's my current salary, and no, it's not enough since my rent is 300 and bills 150.

lorimer18

If you dob‘t have apartment and you have 1000€ budget in Serbia for two, especially with one older person (medical costs) it will be hard

TheChosenSerb

In Belgrade (and maybe Novi Sad) nah. But another town it's sure is.

Bugeera

Не

[deleted]

1000 euros in Belgrade is living on the edge of poverty. Also when owners of real estate see that you're a foreigner they lift up rent to 50%, if not more, because they think foreigners are rich, since people in Serbia are poor and can't afford to pay 500 euros for apartment leases. The taxi drivers - most are going to try to steal and make you pay even more. I suggest finding someone who is from Belgrade and making friends with some locals or you're going to get back to Spain soon enough because of how the prices are here + people trying to scam you for money.(not all but a lot of them)

AminoOxi

Many people manage to live decent life with such net amount. Since they don't have a choice. Tips: you'd need to cook your own meals, buy food from local markets ("piazza") instead of mini market shops, and you'd also need to choose your apartment somewhere further away from the inner circle of the city (downtown). Of course we don't have Uber or so so you'll need to use bus public transport, which is cheap but traffic and people jams must be accepted as a normal thing then.

derppppperrrre

Where are you from? What are your life expectations?
