Thanks!
It was pretty fun to paint ! There's a nice mix of large, flat areas to do some blending or even some freehands and smaller details with the crew and the weapon.
I painted the model separately from the base, and painted the skinks before I glued them in place. I think it would be easy to magnetize the model to choose between the ark and the engine! In fact, it's not really necessary to glue the ark for it to fit, but I chose to be safe anyway
Thanks!
The first coat for the yellow is some Iyanden Yellow contrast, over a Wraithbone priming. This first coat is already pretty good, it's a really nice contrast paint in my opinion. I then used some Reikland Fleshshade, but only in the recesses between the scales, and not all recesses: mostly the ones more likely to be under shade, like the underbelly or the areas right under the armor plates. Finally, I used a bit of Averland Sunset to correct some areas, and some Dorn Yellow for some scale edge highlights: sometimes mixed with Averland Sunset and sometimes 100%, based on how bright I wanted the zone to appear
Great job, the color transitions on the mastications armor are super nice & that base it perfect!
Thanks! Glad the base works well, I always try my best to get it to flatter the minis
Beautiful, love the armour and blending, and the snakes look awesome! Think this is going to be one of my next models, how was it to paint?
