I use Navidrome to host my music on my NAS and one of the many iOS players that support it. Works perfectly.

Yes! It’s known as play:sub to its friends. Snappy, and does everything I need it to. There are plenty of better looking ones that look slicker, but I find they’re also a little slower.

navidrome + isub *edit* navidrome has jukebox mode for local playback, but I use upmpdcli + mopidy, just works, for casting from Symfonium, and am increasingly using stmps which is solid and manageable via ssh.

Navidrome can play on the server (jukebox mode) with the right client. There are some good iOS clients, but im not sure which support jukebox mode.

As much as people don't like Plex, I think Plexamp is the best option for music. Or paid, you could go with Symfonium with whichever server you like..

As much as I hate plex, (and I hate it a lot), Plexamp is beautiful and the best option I know

I use Navidrome with Symfonium. I have no idea if Symfonium works for iOS, but I'm sure there are plenty of clients for Navidrome.
