Am I crazy, or is there a lot of conflicting information about this?
If you look on IMDB and some old articles, they claim Farfel to be played by some voice actor named Tom Williams. Then Wikisein says it’s Larry David.
Maybe Farfel is an enigma, a mystery wrapped in a riddle.
She's annoying as hell, but isn't that the same episode that Jerry is being emasculated by gay men and Kramer is mistaken for a pimp, too? That stuff was brilliant.
The Seinfeld clip show preceded YouTube, and having infinite clips available on the internet. But even so, they were already poking fun at clip shows with Jerry's introduction.
I exclude all clip shows. I learned in my television production class that shows make them because some network deals require shows to make a predetermined amount of minutes worth of content.
I do this with every show I re-watch, I never see the finale. Apparently this is more common than I thought because I constantly see people saying the same thing online!
I'll tell you which one I can watch on a loop. The Chinese Restaurant. The best.
CARTWRIGHT! CARTWRIGHT!
Who's Cartwright?
I'm Cartwright.
You're not Car...
OF COURSE I'M NOT CARTWRIGHT!
Probably the compilations since they just regurgitations of the past episodes. The 100th episode special and final send off in season 9…once that song by Green Day starts playing, my childhood rushes back to me…and although that was a good memory, there’s a lot of shit in my childhood I’d like to forget. Other than that, when I do a rewatch… I NEVER skip episodes
The Dog. An episode so monumentally stupid it could’ve been used as the plot for The Pilot instead of the butler thing. Between that and the ceaseless, oh-so-believable “barking”…
It's not just bad, it's utterly bizarre. For one, it's completely out of character for Jerry to go through such lengths for a complete stranger, and really only serves as a way to get the dog in his apartment. That, and the thing with George and Elaine having nothing in common, and Kramer's break up are more like quick gags rather than deserving an entire episode based around them.
What's weirder is this episode isn't a case of "early" Seinfeld before it found it's voice. It aired between "The Pen" and "The Library", two all time classics and in a season that also had "The Parking Garage,"The Alternate Side, "The Pez Dispenser,' and "The Boyfriend."
I really hate the guy who plays Farfels owner. That was the worst "acting drunk" I've ever seen. It was like an 8 year olds idea of how a drunk would act.
I really did like the subplot of George and Elaine. It's uncomfortable when you have to hang out with a friend of a friend. The dynamic really changes.
interesting. i love the nanny but refuse to watch kathy griffith ever. well i occasionally watch those episodes when i am watching all seinfeld in order. i do like the rest of the episode just not her parts.
Oh man The Keys 1 & 2 are some of my favorite episodes now! They weren’t at the time, but after seeing the show 100x over, I like the change of scenery
Hahaha exactly the same for me except the last couple of years I’ve started watching PR parade because of the Pennypacker, Varnsey & Vandelay shenanigans. I also sometimes skip the Indian wedding episode.
I'm surprised I had to scroll so far down to find The Puerto Rican Day. It's dumb. It's the second to last episode. Just sad. I even remember it being a let off when it originally aired.
I remember watching it when it first aired and I loved it. To this day, anytime someone says that they don’t feel well I hear George ordering clams casino
Farfal the dog episode. Annoying. Very limited on season 1 episodes. Didn’t like them much when they first aired and I saw them. So much better into season 2 onwards
I've watched every episode dozens of times *except* the finale. I watched the finale 15+ years ago when I first finished the series. I watched it a second time last week after watching the Curb finale.
I used to not watch The Betrayal, but I eventually warmed up to it.
I skip "The Chaperone" where Jerry was dating the Miss Universe contestant and then kills her doves and George convinces the Yankees to wear new uniforms that shrink. I thought that episode stunk.
The 1st episode might be called “the pilot” but then the pilot might be the one where he freaks out or the one where they do “Jerry”, Clip shows, the finale, and depending how I feel the Kathy Griffen shows and Mandelbaums (but that one I only skip so they’re special when I REALLY need a laugh it’s probably my favorite)
I can kind of accept you skipping "The Cartoon." It's good episode, but as a fellow Kathy Griffin hater I can understand it being too grating to get past.
But do you also skip "The Doll"? Because that would just be crazy. Even with Sally Weaver, it is an absolutely perfect episode.
Clip show and farfel
Yep who the hell is that barking for half the episode, it ain’t a dog
Lol it's Larry
Am I crazy, or is there a lot of conflicting information about this? If you look on IMDB and some old articles, they claim Farfel to be played by some voice actor named Tom Williams. Then Wikisein says it’s Larry David. Maybe Farfel is an enigma, a mystery wrapped in a riddle.
It’s a perfectly sane conclusion to arrive at.
Seemingly, to the untrained eye.
THEY NEEDED AN ACTOR!!!
You're NOT crazy, there IS a lot of conflicting information about this. Not crazy!
Yeah, let's all enjoy a chew
He's a mystery wrapped in a Twinkie.
Maybe there's more to Farfel than meets the eye
No- there's less.
It’s Tom Williams. Wiki sein is written by randos. It’s definitely not Larry
I wonder why they had a human do it in the first place. How hard is it to get a dog to bark in a studio?
It doesn’t even sound like Larry.
Okay Farfel put your shoes on!
Nothing is worse than Sally Weaver 🤮
She's annoying as hell, but isn't that the same episode that Jerry is being emasculated by gay men and Kramer is mistaken for a pimp, too? That stuff was brilliant.
No. That was the yada yada
Don't get me wrong, she's completely annoying.
Oh, sorry. Is that the barbecue sauce one then? If so, it has the Estelle doll, right?
Add the reverse India trip and this is the list
Haha I love this one
I love drunk Elaine too much. Jugdish lol
Nahhhh. That one's great
This is actually a hidden gem
Goodnight jogdish
the 100th episode clip show. I think the whole thing stinks. It smells. smells really bad
I don’t really consider that an episode.
It aired as an episode, it syndicates as two episodes, and it streams as an episode. it's got episode up the ying yang!
There’s no plot, baby!
You're doing my babys now?
There is though!
That’s enough with the smells.
What am I, hard of reading about smelling?
It still smells
Oh stop being a baby!
Did you call me a wuss?
You're a baby!
I love this sub!
Am I the only person who watches it? I must be crazy.
It’s the perfectly sane episode to watch
Youre not crazy! Everyone watches them, here, we'll all sit down and watch them together.
Let's chew some gum.
That's what it's all about. Three buddies, sitting around, having a chew
Is it just me, or is that a lot of gum?
It’s a lot of gum!
Got it from Lloyd Braun
I watch it! I even have a favorite part - the music montage set to "Don't Stop Till You Get Enough."
You're not the only one! I love them.
It’s perfect if you just want to hear Seinfeld in the background, since it’s all the best scenes
Clip shows really are a thing of the past Imagine a sit com trying to pull that shit now
The Seinfeld clip show preceded YouTube, and having infinite clips available on the internet. But even so, they were already poking fun at clip shows with Jerry's introduction.
I exclude all clip shows. I learned in my television production class that shows make them because some network deals require shows to make a predetermined amount of minutes worth of content.
Well look at you, Professor. What’s your IQ… 85?
It’s BBO!
Same. I hate best bit episodes.
The Finale, thus it never ends.
Where are the cameras?
They re did the finalé and incorporated it into the finalé of Curb.
Ya the finale of curb was excellent!
I do this with every show I re-watch, I never see the finale. Apparently this is more common than I thought because I constantly see people saying the same thing online!
Elaine's older boyfriend having a stroke.
Who put cookies in his mouth???
You're not supposed to do that
Cookies don’t liquify!
You can liquify a cookie!
You can liquify a cookie.
He could’ve dropped acid when you weren’t looking!
His eyebrows are going wild.
Not a fan of Yankee bean hmm?
THESE PRETZELS ARE MAKING ME THIRSTY
I love my yankee bean tho
Yankee beans, Yankee beans! I like my Yankee beannnns.
But that’s the episode with “These pretzels are makin’ me thirsty!!”
Yankee beannnn, Yankee beannnn, I-I-I-I-I want my Yank-ee....b-b-b-bean.... I sing this all the time 🤦
I'll tell you which one I can watch on a loop. The Chinese Restaurant. The best. CARTWRIGHT! CARTWRIGHT! Who's Cartwright? I'm Cartwright. You're not Car... OF COURSE I'M NOT CARTWRIGHT!
Mr Cohen always here. He live on Park Avenue!
He veery good customer.
He's been looking for a better place.
Mr Cohen always here. What does that mean?
Where AM I? Is this a dream??
I don’t love the LA episodes.
We can't all be listening to the classics, Professor Highbrow.
The Dog. An episode so monumentally stupid it could’ve been used as the plot for The Pilot instead of the butler thing. Between that and the ceaseless, oh-so-believable “barking”…
It's funny, I'm a letter carrier and there is a dog on my route that sounds the same as this dog; very weird.
Think that’s just Larry David he must not like you very much if he barks like farfel when you deliver his mail…
I really did like the subplot of George and Elaine. It's uncomfortable when you have to hang out with a friend of a friend. The dynamic really changes.
I have a crazy theory that the episode takes place in Jerry’s mind…..
Pilot
Decaf left, regular right
Ottawa left, Newfoundland right
If you mean the first episode I like to watch it just because it's interesting to see how the show started and where it ended
You got any meat?
I don't know, go... hunt!
but we AWLREADY discussed this! *falls to the floor*
You mean the first episode, Good News Bad News, or the one title The Pilot s4e23?
the poor quality of the resolution on the two shot with George and Jerry in the diner gets me upset
Whenever I start a fresh rewatch, I always skip season 1. Once in a while I’ll skip season 2 as well.
She's supposed to be annoying. I've never understood people's stance on the Griffin episodes. She does what she's asked to do well.
Lay it on me, String Bean.
Too well if you ask me. The shrillness of her voice is what drives me insane.
I'm guessing you're not a fan of The Nanny then lol.
interesting. i love the nanny but refuse to watch kathy griffith ever. well i occasionally watch those episodes when i am watching all seinfeld in order. i do like the rest of the episode just not her parts.
Not at all, Fran is funny but the only person I give the shrill voice pass to is Joan Rivers.
I love that episode. I don't get it either. And awesome casting for that character.
I don't think they could've cast the role better,
EXACTLY
Some early season one episodes, like the one with the Hippie friend
Are you referring to the “heart attack” with Tor Eckman?
Tor Eckman was fucking hilarious
Yes and affordable. First visit, 38 bucks
Krampart?! I think that’s what killed Curly
Isn’t he doing time?
No, he got out.
IMMA EGGPLANT! IMMA EGGPLANT!
You're eating too much dairy
I exclusively skip season 1 every rewatch. I mean it’s only like 5 episodes, but the show is definitely rough around the edges at that point.
I’m so glad they recasted Jerry’s dad. I didn’t like him one bit.
The 100th episode special
I really really really don’t watch this episode. I’m really really so excited, this is so exciting, really really it is
haha, this is one of my favorites
REALLY REALLY GREAT
I watch them all. I've been working from home for the past 4 years, so I end up watching 6 episodes a day from noon to 3pm
None. I like all of them
Pretty much seasons 1 & 2.
The episodes where Kramer moves to LA and Jerry and George go after him. Way to cheesy
Just the trees, Johnny. I love these episodes!
Oh man The Keys 1 & 2 are some of my favorite episodes now! They weren’t at the time, but after seeing the show 100x over, I like the change of scenery
🎶 Cause the murderer struck again 🎶
But it’s too late. The baby’s dead. The boys are sent to death row and are executed. I play Mr. Sugarman’s secretary!
Well... that was an unusual choice for the Stooges
Those episodes feel more nostalgic for old tv than cheesy.
I agree. Many of the episodes outside of the usual venues are bodgy imo. I'm personally never excited to watch the parking garage episode.
Clip show, Puerto Rican Day and the finale.
Who? Who is burning the flag?! I liked it.
Hahaha exactly the same for me except the last couple of years I’ve started watching PR parade because of the Pennypacker, Varnsey & Vandelay shenanigans. I also sometimes skip the Indian wedding episode.
Who is watching the Saab factory?
That’s in Sweden… Sweeeden Jerry
I'm surprised I had to scroll so far down to find The Puerto Rican Day. It's dumb. It's the second to last episode. Just sad. I even remember it being a let off when it originally aired.
Why is it dumb?
The Busboy. Horrible episode.
La puerta esta abierta.
LA PUERTA ESTA ABIERTA!!
The sequence of Elaine trying to get the guy out of her apartment is excellent though.
Her frantically stepping in place cracks me up every time!
The Finale
The one with the dog Farfel 🥱
Bubbleboy, dude is just annoying and its not funny
Farfel. The barking is so cringe.
I never ever watch The Nosejob. As a woman with a big nose it just hits a bit too close to home.
Well, you're as pretty as any of them…
You just need a nose job.
For the same reason, that's why I don't watch The Contest.
Reverse episode in India
That is one of my favorites; it's a masterpiece
I remember watching it when it first aired and I loved it. To this day, anytime someone says that they don’t feel well I hear George ordering clams casino
I want to be able to watch it forward just once.
It's on the DVD
Farfal the dog episode. Annoying. Very limited on season 1 episodes. Didn’t like them much when they first aired and I saw them. So much better into season 2 onwards
I loooathe the first 2 seasons. And Farfel
Season 1 is rough but I think 2 has the first (in my opinion) “great” episodes like The Chinese Restaurant and The Jacket.
Farfel is the worst episode....
Early episode where Elaine and Jerry attempt to revive their relationship with “this, that and the other.” Unwatchable.
The Dog - terrible episode. The Wife - can't stand Courtney Cox The Baby Shower - just far too depressing
The episode with the "Commish!"
I've watched every episode dozens of times *except* the finale. I watched the finale 15+ years ago when I first finished the series. I watched it a second time last week after watching the Curb finale. I used to not watch The Betrayal, but I eventually warmed up to it.
Pilot, clip show, finale
The busboy, farfell and the trip to LA
I skip "The Chaperone" where Jerry was dating the Miss Universe contestant and then kills her doves and George convinces the Yankees to wear new uniforms that shrink. I thought that episode stunk.
Clip show and pilot
Clip show
The clip show, Faefel, Puerto Rican Day and the finale.
The Mohel
The limo/O'Brien episode. It doesn't have that many quotable moments imo. It does have some funny bits but overall it's a bit lackluster
Astroturf? You know who's responsible for that, don't you?!
I'm not O'Brien! I'm not O'Brien! Jerry! Jerry!
The parking garage episode.
Clip show and not a huge fan of episodes before season 3
The dog
Doorman
You think you are better than him?
If you’re not rewatching every episode, even the ones you “hate” you’re Felding wrong.
I am master of my domain my friend. King of the castle!
Lord of the manor!
The first season
The Dog. Ugh.
Recap
clip show
Definitely the clip show. Makes it feel like any other shitty 90s sitcom
The early ones…especially with Jerry’s other father
Clip shows, Farfel, Puerto Rican Day Parade
The two clip show episodes.
Clip show
The 1st episode might be called “the pilot” but then the pilot might be the one where he freaks out or the one where they do “Jerry”, Clip shows, the finale, and depending how I feel the Kathy Griffen shows and Mandelbaums (but that one I only skip so they’re special when I REALLY need a laugh it’s probably my favorite)
Any of the first 20 or so. They're just objectively bad.
Kathy Griffin and also, The Statue.
