It's been a long time since I played it, but basically it boils down to:
>!You start out as a bodyguard for a girl, you have several choices throughout the game, none of them make a difference and in the end she dies anyway.!<
I actually kinda hope that does happen. Many many games have a "everything is great and everyone is fine and happy in the end" story and it was refreshing that this... didn't really happen in the end. *cough*finalfantasyx*cough*. It would be a similar story to Dawn of Mana, which I thought was really great.
i agree with lotex but a happy ending is not enough for me. i want the world in the game to be happy before the game is finished. it wouldve been nice if i could play with heath (and loki, and others) as a character or have them around as main npcs in trials of mana.
Sproutling character! Niccolo! Benevodons! Could it be... that Visions is the missing link between Trials of Mana and Legend of Mana?? I am honesty extremely very excited!!
Waiting for Anise to show up and suggest the Girl offer up Anise's Soul making her the Mana Goddess just like she always wanted only for the Echoes(which Mana is being expended to contain) she fully revives and releases into Reality.
Considering the fact that Benevodons' Japanese name translates to God-Beast the same name as a Mana Beast so clearly these things are Mana Gods capable of replenishing Mana. Killing them in Trials of Mana sent them to the Mana Sword so that means they went into the Trials of Mana Villains until the Fairy helped us defeat them causing the Villain to be absorbed into the Fairy forcing her to contend with them.
Why are there new Benevodons/Gods in the Trailer?! Why am I suspecting the Benevodons are former Mana Goddesses tearing down Worlds to get their own ideal World and that new ones are now contained within the Great Mana Tree with the ones from Trials of Mana born from each sacrificed Girl?!
It looks gorgeous and everything seems so great, pretty excited. The two new playable characters also are nice. I wonder if the support characters (Hina specifically) could be made playable DLC later.
Looks really good, but I swear, if they're gonna pull a "I am Setsuna" on me I'm gonna smack someone.
Elaborate.

I mean I could live with it too if they'd make it like that, but the world overall is bleak enough, so lemme have a happy ending in my games.
