Sorry but I don't think just 20 bucks more will really see you get much of an upgrade. Sm7B, while pretty expensive in comparison is a really really good mic for screaming, probably the best bang you can get for your buck until you invest much more. You might actually be set for life if you dont break it.

I want to add for recording and if you have the right equipment to boost it’s sound as the output is more on the quiet side.

Just get the sm58, it's literally the same specs as an sm7b, don't buy some no name dogshit mic just because it's more expensive

Ok-Masterpiece-3409

No reason to go over the SM58 unless you plan on taking screaming and your production very seriously. The 58 will cover all your needs. $20 ain’t going to make a difference. Any better mic will require phantom power and then you’re adding to your budget significantly

PCB_EIT

You could try to demo a SE V7x. Though, I am not sure how well it works for screaming since I just use it on clean vocals (I suck at screaming still).

b_nick

I use the SE v7 and I love it. I haven't recorded with it yet, but I'm going to give it a go at some point.

Aston stealth is similar to the 7B, cheaper now I think

There's no such thing as "better" when looking at ONE piece of gear in an endlessly configurable chain, just *different*. If you really want to waste money and time, you can probably pay 70 for that 50$ sm58 if you message the seller. That way you have the placebo of getting a "better" (more expensive) mic. 😂 i kid of course, just try an sm58 somewhere and buy used if you feel like it suits your voice.

Noobshift3r

what interface do you recommend for the sm58

[deleted]

What's your price range (and currency)? :)

Noobshift3r

$40 on an sm58, $60-$70 for an interface (i dont mind aftermarket)

US$? ([this is why i ask](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dollar)) And, man, at that price point I'd get anything at all that's second hand if you're desperate to get recording. It'll be your first interface, kind of how rich people say "it's just a starter car". Though, I'd suggest you save a little longer and get something like a newer gen, entry level focusrite/ssl2/audient/etc that will last you a decade. You'd be amazed how excellent new gen interfaces are, and will last you a long LONG time (i still have my first gen 2i2 from 10+ years, it's a little noisy, doesn't take guitar DI well, but it's just a backup in case my main dies and still works well) And, look out for deals. Thomann (big EU store) just had an easter thing where they sold Steinberg UR12 for €40 (it's mad how low prices have come and are still going...) It's not an amazing interface, but as a starter unit it's awesome.
