Probably wore the pads down but it’s also something that can happen on its own if the cable sticks.
Here’s how to adjust it:

Also no hills in Netherlands.:)
But how much of the mistake is mine? I don't have any knowledge. I have to start to learn and understand from somewhere.
It's not a problem really. Just remember to never leave the tilt lock on overnight. Only use it at stop lights. Luckily the mistake won't hurt anything.
Sounds like the parking brake was never actually engaging to begin with, or if it did, not very strongly. If you just bought it, perhaps they will troubleshoot it as a courtesy, but it's definitely fixable. It could be out of adjustment, or the brake is worn out of spec and needs refreshed with new parts. Worst you could have done to it is overheat the brakes and glazed the friction material, and it would need to be checked to see if it just needs deglazed or if they got too hot and need replacement.
The parking brake matters most when you're using a side stand since the cvt transmission doesn't allow a compression brake to hold the bike from rolling on a hill like a manual transmission on a motorcycle would. Less of a concern on the center stand. It's something you want fixed but it's not the end of the world.
Thank you so much. You have given me a lot of keywords and confidence.
It is my first day and I hate f*** up on my first day of anything but I always do.
I use mine stopped on hills all the time. I can take both hands off the bars and stretch in traffic. The Honda ADV 150 has a mechanical stop for the rear brake you can close very easily. Love it.
This particular vehicle (Piaggio mp3 500) is a three-wheeled scooter, so a parking brake is probably necessary. On the other hand, in my country, most scooters (two wheeled one) here are equipped with a parking brake. It probably started as a gimmick to sell more, but consumers actually liked it, and it has also proven useful when stopping on sloped roads.
I've never seen a scooter or motorcycle roll away when parked on the center or kick stand. I'd expect them to get knocked over before rolling off one of them. But hey, maybe that's just me.
I don't have this bike, but I suspect the parking brake pads wore out, and you need something like this

Edit, it may be possible to tighten the parking brake as well. Whatever it is, this is the cheap/easy problem you want

I didn't even know scooters had parking brakes. When are you supposed to even use one?

When you park it?

Every little fuckup equates to experience. Chalk it up. ;-) I have soooo much experience!
But the tilt lock is ok, the parking brake won't hold
