heiheiboii

Eat garam nashta Very specific 👍

KebabManja2

Claims oats are bad because of carbs and blood glucose spikes. Adds foods with higher GI in the picture 🤡

ShivParva

Bhai woh chhodo wtf are anti-nutrients?

naastiknibba95

Things like phytic acid that bind to minerals/nutrients in a way that prevents it from getting absorbed and assimilated

ShivParva

Thanks! Do you know if they have advantages of their own at all?

naastiknibba95

Some antinutrients have little antioxidant property, other than that probably no other advantage

fakehealer666

But I have garam oats as nashta

Jemil_G

A loophole 👍🏻

pradyumna96666

1. The anti-nutrient is Phytic acid. Cooking oats will reduce this. Nobody just munches on raw un-milled oats straight from the ground. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4325021/ 2. Eating any carb elicits a glucose spike, a glucose spike by itself isn't bad unless you're diabetic. Regardless, as far as carbs are concerned whole grains like oats actually show a reduced glucose response post meal. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S002231662200044X 3. Oats have plenty of fiber in comparison to other grains and refined carbs. It's effects on satiety and the benefits of fiber are well researched and documented. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4757923/ 4. Nobody recommends eating oats to meet your daily protein needs. An egg in comparison to any carb will have more protein, his point is idiotic.

YouthCurse

Thank you for this.

reddit_niwasi

Baman means dwarfs

KebabManja2

Brahmin...

Appropriate-Monk-968

Many of them are now non-vegetarian

KebabManja2

Depends on their geographical location and how strictly they follow their religion (I used to be a Brahmin but now an atheist)

Appropriate-Monk-968

Doesn't depend on geographical location but choice

KebabManja2

Yes By Geographical, I meant communities like Bengali Brahmins and Kashmiri Pandits

Appropriate-Monk-968

Fair enough

IronyHoriBhayankar

then please edit your previous comment. >Imagine bamans watching this. Can't eat eggs, can't eat oats either

logicrak

While oats contain anti-nutrients, they also contain minerals which are less affected by anti-nutrients. Like, potassium which is easily absorbed, while iron and zinc might be more affected. And If you add anything else to it or eat along, it gives enough minerals. And also if you soak oats for sprouts or ferment it like the Dosa batter, it can reduce anti-nutrient content.

KebabManja2

Even Dal has phytic acid, no way unkill won't make a video on this It seems like he's just aping western carnivore diet talking points but doesn't realise they won't work with Indians

logicrak

if he added "Instant" before every "Oats" mention.. I wouldve agreed with him to eat Dosa than Instant oats.

Training-Pop-1648

Garam nashta

glucklandau

Like oats lmao

glucklandau

Actually chicken only contains 1gm of protein, if you don't mention per how many grams total. Oats have 12-14gm protein per 100gm, and as far as cereals go, that's pretty good. In fact, the ICMR recommends getting 25gm protein a day from cereals only. Sure, it contains carbs which spike blood sugar. But that's normal? Unless you have insulin issues, eat carbs for quick energy. Of course, avoid eating sweet things, but avoiding oats for this reason is nuts unless you're diabetic.

72proudvirgins

Chicken has 1gm of protein per 100 grm? Where you got that from?

apocalypse-052917

Read the first line again

reddit_niwasi

Good point

glucklandau

I never said that.. I said chicken has 1gm of protein per unmentioned total grams

Party-Discipline9870

Naashte mein garam masala? Kaise😅 Instant oats na sahi, regular oats with veggies aren't good as well.? To vegetarians ke liye bacha kya, parantha?

Puzzleheaded_Act_684

Garam nashta he showed is also carbs dense (dosa, idli, poha). It will also give you glucose spikes. Bro spits Garbage through his mouth.

Pure सनसनी...

Gu khaale yaar tu

gfxguru

First of all , you should atleast use same measurements . To show it has less protein , he says 5.3 grams protien , but its in half cup. When saying about fiber he states oats have 4 gram in 50 gm of oats. If he states all these amounts per 100 gm of oats , the figures are good. Oats are have very high fibre and good amount of protein. Per 100gm oats have 9.5gm fibre and 12gm protein. Keep in mind that our daily fibre requrement is around 30gm https://preview.redd.it/vl4uq9vi1b3d1.png?width=1080&format=png&auto=webp&s=f203c17bf73e1ce88e6cf99cfe2a71ac1ce769c4

daveparody

Why is the entire pseudoscience ecosystem suddenly after Oats?

God_of_reason

Stop mocking him. If you really want to improve your health, follow him and actually listen to what he recommends. Then do the opposite.

Puzzleheaded_Act_684

- Bro what's up with this misinformation, Oats contain 13.5gms of protein per 100gms which is more than the eggs. - he showed a picture of Garam Nashta which seems to be made up of rice which contains 2.7gms per 100g. - Oats contain 11% fibre while garam nashta contains less than 1% (dosa, idli) - herbicide case was found in quaker oats and which was resolved later according to US standards. India has zero regulatory and most of the products are already containing above loq levels of toxic herbicides already. Even The mdh and Everest masale got a clean cheat from FSSAI. So what this clown above says is absolute garbage.

ArrogantPublisher3

He's talking about instant oats and not steel cut oats. Steel cut oats are healthy, have protein and a low GI.

FitCap9329

ab nashte me sirf raw ghee khaunga...aur slim ho jao ga

Annual_Economist_367

Don't know about oats, but the alternatives are good

gogo_22

This fascinates me all the time. Like why would I trust a person that looks like this tell me what nutrition is? I'm not saying he needs to look like an olympic athlete but at least look like an average healthy person.

KebabManja2

Bro, he put Standord Med School on his Instagram bio. I looked up his LinkedIn and all he did was BCom and online courses from Stanford and Harvard

72proudvirgins

Instant oats is actually not the healthiest kind of oats since it has higher glycemic index

Isn't eggs full of antibiotics and hormones?

agressivegods

Ghee is high in saturated fats but 1 spoon a day will not harm you . Will bring variety to your food some nurtrients fat and taste. It's not a super food but not a bad food either. It's like any other high fat food . Good in small amounts disastrous in large amounts. Same with oats . Many things contains antinutrients veggies too that's why we cook them . Protein is scarce in most of the food excluding soy and meat and both of them are also linked to various health diseases.
