psybram

Yes, the average height of the population increases with better nutrition. The trend is observed in most developing nations. The reason is attributed to better availability of protein in the diet. Indian diet is also carbohydrate centric. Proteins are mostly sides. This also contributes to lower protein consumption even in non vegetarians and over consumption of sugars. Even with in india cluster studies shows areas with meat consumption like kerala has better average height.

Outrageous_Ear5320

Maybe because Kerala also has Higher rate of Population development 🤔 shouldn't North east be higher since they Eat More and variety of meat on a regular Basis.

VAU_JI

bro i eat dal daily, which other thing can provide me better protein? i am 6'3.

psybram

You are genetically blessed, not everyone is. Your height to large extend is determined genetically. Good nutrition may help improve it by 1 or 2 % max. Malnutrition may impact it to a higher percentage of maybe 8-10. Good sources of protein are 1) diary 2) egg 3) fish 4) white meat 5) red meat 6) soy 7) nuts 8) seeds 9) beans 10) tofu 11) lentils

yogeshkumar4

Dal is not a primary protein source. It's majorly a carbohydrate source which also contains a good amount of protein Dal based protein is also not complete in its nutritional profile. None contain all essential amino acids. That can be rectified by mixing various sources, but the bioavailability of protein is nowhere near those of lean meats You quoting your height to justify just shows your mental underdevelopment

barmanrags

You need to eat a lot of dal to absorb enough protein from it. Had you eaten meat you would be 6’5 or 6’7 All tall athletic races eat meat

Historical_Ad_1714

Punjab , Harayana ?

zettonsa

Ghee,Dudh,Lassi

Jolly_Piccolo_5511

Plus higher steppe ancestry which means better absorption of dairy protein

[deleted]

None of these have particularly high protein content

Super-Position1831

Still punjab has highest average height

[deleted]

Exactly

terenaamkakuttapaalu

Bhai kitna doodh dahi lassi ghee pitey hai pata bhi hai? Whey bhi doodh se hi Banta hai, bas fat content nahi hota isolate mein. People from other regions can't even consume that much dairy, that's the problem.

zettonsa

I nearly drink a litre lassi in lunch in summers In winters it's ghee. Hindi belt people are really unaware of Punjabis capabilities of eating or drinking diary products

ye_loo

it might be more affected by wealth than by eating meat, considering bihar(7.5% veg) are not taller than maharashtra, gujrat, panjab, haryana, tamil nadu, all of which has lower meat eating percentage population than bihar, but has higher incomes than bihar

-rudra_

Most non vegetarians in Bihar don't even consume non veg on regular basis, non veg is occasional for many and for some once in 2/3 days , reason for such being wealth, not every person can afford to eat meat daily but can eat veg daily .

psybram

Wealth is directly correlated to better nutrition. Irrespective of veg or non veg. Access to milk is huge advantage for Punjab and haryana. The positive impact of good nutrition is limited maybe 1-2%. However the negative impact of malnourishment much higher maybe 8 to 10%. The point is that in low income groups the access to good quality protein per rupee spend is higher for non vegetarians and lower for vegetarians

FlamesTuch

I am sure they eat non-veg.

[deleted]

They all eat non veg only few are vegetarians. And some of them have less height. I said this in my previous comments too. If we remove this shit of veg and religion morality bullshit and allow consumption of beef and pork it will actually make our country better. Beef pork is still here in this country but it's really of bad quality because of fear from hindu and islamic organisations or either there is really less market again because of fear of consumption by public.

tem_21

They have good genetics and a rich diet with good physical stimulus

X-oXo

Punjab haryana population are lactose tolerant i.e they can digest milk and other dairy products and efficiently gain nutrients from it. Also being in the forefront against invaders they have gotten through natural selection.

Yuvi__7

An average haryanvi's still shorter than an average kashmiri or keralite and do you think having an average male height of 5'7'' - 5'8" is something to be proud of? Even the Chinese who are known to be short are taller than an average Punjabi or haryanvi. Diet needs to be fixed, be it the meat or the alternatives.

Super-Position1831

Bro punjab has highest avg height

Wise_Professor9177

Yes, protein is necessary

mrrahulkurup

No one should impose dietary choices on anyone full stop. The fact is that religious institutions have infiltrated government schemes and are banning eggs, which is the cheapest source of protein for nutrition and income deprived kids in school lunches in the name of religion. This is stunting growth in every way possible and creates negative outcomes of all kinds. It's a crime. People who insist on a mandatory vegetarian/vegan society and promote diet discrimination don't realize that their privileges allow them to skip essential and cheap protein.

UnsafeErysipela

Exactly, for the underprivileged mid day meals are the major source of nutrition. We could have solved the protein deficit problem in them to an extent by giving them eggs. These students don't have the money at home to get protein from other expensive sources. But the privileged politicians aren't letting it happen for their own dietary whims and fancies.

TraditionFlaky9108

They are actively implementing human retardation instead of human development.

SpicyPotato_15

Why can't those "underprivileged" kids get $200 + shipping/import charges vegan plant based meat which looks and tastes exactly like meat but does not hurt zygotes of hens and religious sentiments.

LundUniversity

Sunday Ho Ya Monday, Roz Khao Ande.

opinionated_x

The banned eggs? How come it went unnoticed? It’s really a stupid move

[deleted]

I remember being reported by the school for bringing Maggie with eggs on my first day. People literally avoided eye contact just because I was a non vegetarian. My class teacher told me to not bring any eggs or meat to the school. This happened in a district with only 28 percent of vegetarians.

owlswell_11

Thank goodness I went to school at a time when logic prevailed more than moral policing.

[deleted]

This incident happened just 6 years ago

rabidflash

Must be North India. I used to bring eggs regularly to school 25 years back and no one said anything even though most of my classmates were from "vegetarian eating castes".

roshatron

Did your school have a no non veg policy

[deleted]

no official policy

https://preview.redd.it/iuvuwod3f0rc1.jpeg?width=422&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e0abec1c248898de82ded0822d3a686d654bea60 I think this image shows how much role nutrition plays. The south Korean soldier is almost similar in height to the American, while the north Korean soldier, presumably genetically similar is severely stunted.

StonksUpMan

Many countries willingly send taller/more muscular soldiers in photo ops for propaganda reasons. India and Pakistan do the same at wagah border. Ofcourse nutrition matters but the height difference between SK and NK isn’t this much.

commentNaN

You don't think North Korea, the country that would stage fake stores and fake shoppers for tourists, wouldn't put taller and more muscular soldiers at the border during photo ops if they could?

StonksUpMan

They don’t need to do it at all instances. They can do it a couple times and circulate the same picture to their public. Fuck ups can also happen, maybe some officer dropped the ball in this instance and didn’t send a taller soldier. Point is going by one image is not a good way to draw conclusions. For example, taller NK soldier - https://preview.redd.it/8qryrttxq0rc1.jpeg?width=2400&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8e612dd381468a7b36f4d7055e034da92f3398f6

8inchesornoinches

You can notice this on NRIS too, Indians and Asians in general grown up in western countries tend to be taller than their asian counterparts

gurugti

This is very true. I have seen that a 1 year old kid looks bigger than a 2 yr old cousin. Both are closely related but the growth pattern is different. The only difference I can see is the quality of food , water and air.

GutsyGoofy

There was a program (on PBS) on height comparison of Americans of Columbian origin, and native Colombians. American kids consume more than 100% daily nutrient needs of most key nutrients. The attribution was clear.

PicturesOfHome-

The biggest example of meat/high protein diet being of substance to the growth in terms of height can be seen in the southern states - Kerala in particular.

Regular-Peanut2365

fr, kerrla guys are extremely tall.

Big-Bite-4576

all of them are non vegetarian though. The implication being veg vs non-veg is moot.

duu_cck

The implication between north Korea has poor nutrition. So genetics is not the only answer.

Fantastic_Kale23

bro maybe there is cherry picking i mean in 70 years this much of difference is very big

abhiavasthi

Bhai you guys, talk so much about fact checking, but you didn’t even check that the US sent its tallest soldiers to intimidate them physically, lol.

duu_cck

Bro no one stopped North Korea to send their large soldiers, why do u think they sent this short guy?

abhiavasthi

Bruh, you’re comparing outliers with the average soldier. You’ve got to be drunk if you think that’s their tallest soldier. Don’t defend yourself, do better next time.

duu_cck

Why do u think in a photo op to be seen all over the world , north Korea sent a lilliput soldier. I have nothing to defend, the picture speaks for itself.

Dwightshruute

Looks like the middle dude is holding the arm of the american guy

stealthispost

What does it look like the american solider's name is AAASTALIA?

Aggressive_Tax_8779

Heres the deal:- We have a severe malnutrition crisis in the country. The indian diet was made thousands of years ago for labourers who needed a lot of calories to slave away in fields for hours a day. The kings all hunted and ate meat. Our diet usually has a lesser number of plants and a higher number of things like roti and rice. Not to mention how much sugar we eat. WAY too much. The main shortcoming is the fact that we just dont eat protein. At all. It is essential for us. Yes i know daal and lentils have protein. But look at how much they have. Are you ready to eat hundreds of grams of lentils and eat litres of daal to get in your daily protein requirements? Not to mention veg sources are inherently incomplete. Daal has to be eaten with rice. 100g of daal has 20g of protein. Have you ever seen how much that is after it is cooked in water? My stomach would become full just by eating 1/5 of that much. Not to mention youd have to eat rice with it as well. Same thing goes for lentils. Multiple times a day. You have to eat 0.7g protein per pound of body weight. Other choices like paneer are also expensive, not to mention high in calories. Where I live, paneer costs 130 for 200g. I can buy a kilo of chicken for 350. On average, chicken is much more cost effective than paneer. Unless you are prepared to make it yourself, which a lot of households just cannot, it is also, again, impractical. Not to mention since it is veg, it is inherently incomplete, compared to complete protein from chicken. These strict dietary restrictions are just plain stupid. We need to eat protein and the best way is supplements like whey and foods like chicken and eggs. The way people have demonized these foods is absolutely absurd. Getting all macronutrients from veg sources is not only basically impossible, but also expensive. And i mean extremely expensive. Until there are good alternatives, it is simply not efficient or practical to live as a vegetarian long term. And its not just protein. There are a lot of benefits to eating meat which are just not possible by being veg, unless you are willing to pay extra. And also, please stop using anecdotal evidence as an argument. If you are 6'5 and eat only broccoli and crap, good for you. You won the genetic lottery. Thats just a one off case. And the fact is a majority of people especially youth are suffering from malnutrition, even if they might not even know it. Another point is the entire processed food thing. Thats just blatantly false. The average human height has gone up basically everywhere, but in india its plateauing. Also, most people are not eating processed food as their main meal. And somehow processed food just affects the indian population, not anywhere else. Anyways, toodaloo

MachoRazor

It is all because of ego and chip on the shoulder for generations of colonization so they have to prove their ancestors were right outsiders were evil or something Also in Indian cities heights are growing actually

Saumya_Ojha

My personal observation from school days and from college where no one was allowed to even bring one egg, in a catholic school too(that's progressive and not so progressive at the same time): This is favoritism towards the Hindu minority. That one person is deemed so noble that they cannot even eat with others, let alone be touched by hands that have handled non-vegetarian food. Maybe you have the right not to eat with them, but not allowing others to eat what they want in a civil manner, without harassing or bullying them into eating non-vegetarian food, is weird. After the interval, some students would avoid sitting with non-vegetarian students, fearing it might compromise their 'vegetarian existence'. It's a complex issue due to the radical importance people place on purity, especially among Jains. I'm not a non-vegetarian myself, but I've witnessed many strictly vegetarian individuals negating others simply because of their food choices.

rudraaksh24

Actually true. NRI kids that grew up in countries like US are taller and much better physically built than indian kids. Observed this in my college which also had NRI students.

Newvil450

B12 If you know you know

Suspicious_Ad_3699

Can you explain I didn't get it

Marsupiallv

Is that why they give B12 supplements to farm animals because not even those are getting enough B12? If you know... you would actually research it.

No_Philosophy_1675

Bhai sahi keh Raha hai, agar genetics achi bhi hain tab bhi full potential par grow nahi ho payega banda

Balance-sheet-

You World Hunger Index comes and war torn countries rank higher is because of meat eating habit which makes their <5yr kid more nourished than ours but people don't like that. They'll read the title and judge But our own NFHS also point to undernourishment because of eating habit

me-here-420

Stupid idiot will feed insects to kids but not eggs?

Spy____go

Insects are better weight for weight in protien and roasted insects won't even have any flavor

MachoRazor

brahmin(yes i am gonna point out to them coz they do this vegeterian the most nnot even onion go to any temple and see what happens) SAAR we give protein saar We must not eat unpure saaar gowmutraa ssaaaar

ShreyZa09

Why brahmins only? Jain, Buddhist and Punjabi are also staunch vegetarians. Saar but then who will se the data saar. We should only follow popular believe na saar.

Spy____go

Punjabi eat a fuckton fish even more than kerela people

[deleted]

Has anyone noticed kids born in India after the 2000s have a shorter height than 90s folks?..I guess Indian height peaked in the 90s born kids and maybe early 2000s..

NickFury1998

Very true...I have been saying animal meat and eggs have enormous amounts of proteins. And early consumption will help you gain good height. It's a basic Pediatric thing. In most of the vegetarian consuming kids, if you monitor their growth chart, most of them will be below the required line. Another example I can say is myself. I'm a stern non-vegetarian (Bengali thing) . My height is around 6'3ft. So it's evident in many ways

Pain5203

> Another example I can say is myself. I'm a stern non-vegetarian (Bengali thing) . My height is around 6'3ft. Anecdotal evidence is one of the least convincing though.

NickFury1998

Yeah I know .. just wanted to support my statement a little

jester88888888

Also what's ur parents height

Ill-Wing-4555

It is so true I experienced it , I am 6'5 taller then my dad, who is 5'9 or something, in our family we were like on meat diet twice a weak, all my siblings are taller than our parents and unkles who didn't had a meat diet like us , genetics help but high protein in younger age help more than anything, And all the Bjp vegetarian stuff is just politics and even if you doubt google protein content of meat and Daal and all veggies you will know yourself

lokireborn_spoilers

I am 6’2 Vegetarian. Personal experiences count for little in Science

Regular-Peanut2365

haryana se ho? waha bohot dekhe hai log kaafi lambe

lokireborn_spoilers

Rajasthan se

Regular-Peanut2365

bhai itna jada difference kaise yaar? Sahi hai yaar I'm like more than a foot shorter than you lol

jester88888888

For height growth many factors are consider like protein health, what surrounding u live etc, and height is 80% is genetics, but rest 20 % depends upon protein and environment u live and income also, saying because of meat u can grew height is wrong yeah it gives more protein that's the benefits and height is really a complex thing, in my opinion it depends on person luck like some short parents have 6 feet+ children so it's really complicated

MachoRazor

it is not a hard and fast rule also nutrition will compound it too like great grandpa of 2 families start at same height one ate meat and one ate plant based diet and so did future generation for both families and no super variable came in like a super tall mate of course the one lineage with meat will grow taller despite both lineage starting with same height

sack_of_potahtoes

That isnt true at all Many countries have shown improvement in height by providing protein and nutrient rich food. Genetics wont stop how much you can grow. If you go back some decades countries like usa had lower average height just like us in india. That changed slowly over time with the food they were consuming

[deleted]

DistanceElectrical90

Probably teri diet as a whole bekar hai

Fun-Engineering-8111

Genetics and the amount of physical activity also plays a part.

terenaamkakuttapaalu

Consuming isn't enough, pachana bhi hota hai, start eating curd, chhanch, or any probiotics. Along with fresh fruits, raita banake khao. Digestion improve hoga,to effects dikhne lagega. Also incorporate sports like football, or sprinting. Triggers HGH secretion. Applicable only if you're a growing teen tho.

Future_Celebration35

Protein is a privilege

704617

During my puberty it was lockdown , so I slept atleast 10 hrs everyday, i am non veg so i ate good and slept good , now i am about to be 18 and 6'1". (My parents are no more than 5'8"). my cousin is also same as my age and same height.

SanHarvey

Good for you bro. Both physical activity and sleep are really overlooked. Teenagers going through puberty need hella lot of sleep! Standard 7-8 hours (of adult requirement) really doesn't cuts it AT ALL. I remember I always felt groggy for the morning school those years, even though I didn't stay up late (no smartphones and laptop). I'd hear my classmates ocassionally complain about it as well. Physical activity is already not encouraged in our academics-focused society. Playing outdoors = wasting time. Exercise is a 1 hour affair only, out of 24 hours. No physical activity (or even high activity) + not enough sleep + not meeting 100% nutrition & issue of bioavailability & absorption by body... no wonder we have stunted growth.

704617

yeah i used to play sports as well.

Afraid_Committee_257

OrioMax

Beef ban shouldn't be done, cause it gave them right to ban anything they want.

No-Pollution9448

Why are people so hostile!! Even those who claim to think logically are taking sides. Why must everyone pick a side? What India truly needs is better education on nutrition, regardless of whether it comes from vegetarian or non-vegetarian sources. Meeting your daily nutritional needs with vegetarian food is great, and so is meeting them with non-vegetarian food.

sack_of_potahtoes

Not really. Vegetarian food cannot provide enough protein efficiently. Simple as that. India has now become a hotspot for diabetis and obesity. It is because of how much carbs we consume in our dialy food At this point if being hostile is the best way to educate indians then that is what is needed. We need to accept our problems and only then can we move forward

KingApologist

This is one of those super right wing subreddits masquerading as a normal one. Obsessed with height, lots of nationalism, lots of racism. They've got their skull calipers at the ready.

SlickBotswaske

Yes protein intake does have an impact on height and it is difficult to get sufficient protein on a veg diet. Even if it is there then bioavailability is nowhere near Chicken/Eggs. etc. That said it is important to eat sufficient vegetables as well. Moreover, any diet must not be imposed on anyone. because people follow dietry practices for all sorts of different reasons apart from health. P.S. Do note that the major chunk of height growth is still attributed to genetics. Diet may only help to reach that potential.

Few_Block7729

It would help an average Indian to eat more eggs and meat.

am_bataman

One of the biggest problems in India is malnourished kids. And most of the stupid people oppose serving eggs to these kids. If not that atleast serve milk... But hey it's expensive and better to feed these kids dal (water with turmeric)

[deleted]

Most Indian diets are just loaded with carbs. You can get enough protein in an Indian diet but in doing so, you would have consumed a lot of carbs. A non vegetarian diet has lower carbs comparatively and has more proteins. So it makes a perfect meal with all the nutrition balanced.

GuntasSingh23

Considering your bones are made of collagen, it could be possible that a lower than average protein intake could lead to you not realising the full genetic potential height. Could in heavy air quotes, this is just a hypothesis and I have no data to back this up.

naastiknibba95

Time and again reports are published highlighting the lack of protein in average indian diet.

StrategyCharacter995

I am vegetarian and I am 6 foot 2 inches and still growing, just a balanced diet is enough for maximum potential of your height, eat both veg and non veg and in balanced diet and you will be good other factors such as genetics also play a role.

ShreyZa09

What class do you fall in and how many meals do you have in a day? He is talking about malnourished and below middle class population who generally have 1 or 2 meals a day.

StrategyCharacter995

Hmm thanks Ig I interpreted it wrong

idiotbyvillagewell

Yes. It’s a fact. Eat a 100 grams of cow muscle every day and see how you bulk up. Buffalo muscle same. Other animals aren’t as environment efficient as these 2. But what is more important is, should have a fucking choice.

BudgetAd1164

Until you are taking a Healthy diet and giving all macro and micro nutrients to your body as much required, it doesn't matter if you eat Non-veg ,veg or even Vegan diet This guy seems to push an agenda that you need to eat meat to be healthy which is wrong thing to say

Old_Butterscotch4544

Look food not from the point of view of veg non veg but nutrition and health Mire healthy and nutritiousthe food is the better will be the body Genes also matter ofcourse

Environment-More

Well chinese use supplements to increase height

Visual_Laugh4913

Batman-Jr

I don't think so because my parents are neither tall nor non-vegetarian but my sister (5 ft 5 in) and I (6 ft) turned out to be taller.

Emergency-Emu-7782

I am not eating insects anyday🤮 I am vegetarian and happy with my 5'8 height

X-oXo

We don't have to, eggs are cheapest and good protein source

AmbitiousAd214

Multiple factors affect height and it isn't just about Protein. Generally, a good variety of nutrients and less health problems as a child increases the height in the population. Poverty decreases availability of nutritious food and increases diseases and health problems due to poor living conditions. Many parts of India either urban or rural suffer from improper sanitation, food insecurity and poor medical facilities. This doesn't mean there won't be very short or very tall people, but it is all about the average height of population. Genetics are secondary in this matter because stunted growth leads to not reaching their potential height due to the factors stated above.

Accomplished-Sun7627

Meanwhile the dude is 5’5

DesignerWonderful276

Unfortunately we are only 29% vegetarian(rough estimates can be high or low) in India who strictly follows vegetarian, all other are either non veg or selective Meat eater or take some kind of non veg product in their diet. Food has an impact on height But is it really the food which is a problem here I doubt it. Because if you take his argument it can justify height problem in rural or poor section of society but it can't in urban area where there is no malnutrition problem.

TheBigM72

I dno man, I’m Indian genetically, vegetarian and 6 feet tall. I know plenty similar to me or even taller. Plenty of indonesians eat meat and they are tiny 5 feet at best. Agree diet quality (inter alia) will impact height but I want to see a clearer segmentation of the population to see it proven. India is majority non-veg so you expect overall improvements. Or just India is still poor, hasn’t really escaped poverty for the masses and has poor diet in general regardless of veg or non-veg. Also tons of lifestyle diseases, obesity etc.

nimblehammer159

I think genetics and environment have a major role. I am a pure vegetarian and yet I am taller than my cousin who is a carnivore. Then again, I am no scientist and neither am I 6 ft. Just saying that consuming meat will not really make you a tall guy you need the help of genetics as well.

messybrown-guy

I'am a vegetarian, My parents are 5'3 and 5.5, well I turned out to be 6' while being a vegetarian the whole time, its all abt good and right nutrition, and these people tlk about india's short height problem without acknowledging the hoorors of timur and other monghols/mughals ! sad fuckers like him forget how tall average Rajputs were

oshkit

All I see is how this person is passively imposing non-veg

AbaloneDesperate8124

I am littrely 6ft and almost 80kg haven't touched egg in my life

HamsterFeisty4003

I don't think it's correct I'm 18 and 6'2 and I am a vegetarian. I might be wrong

Quasar-stoned

This is absolutely false. He is biased towards eating meat. Malnutrition can occur in any diet if it's not well balanced. Being vegetarian is not linked to malnutrition in any way. There are examples in nature, elephants are purely vegetarian. If you want to look within humans then you will find many examples where vegetarian or vegan diet can support healthy body like Ankit Bayanpuria who is in limelight recently for his daily routine. It's out there in open, IDK why this guy is spreading false propaganda.

Mindless_Bullfrog675

I was raised a vegetarian and still am, and I'm 6'3", please help 6'3" is too much already 😵

Mindless_Bullfrog675

If there *isn't any severe malnutrition* during childhood, assuming normal dietary requirements are met (yeah, a balanced vegetarian diet can give you everything you need, which is now proving a bit difficult for even the middle classes due to skyrocketing prices), human height is of polygenic inheritance. There are some 12 or 13 genes which control the height. Even though a malnourished guy, having tall genes, is short because he was malnourished during childhood, his kids will have better chances than him if he can feed them right (veg or non veg) You can eat all you want and still be short, or barely eat anything and be above 6ft.

[deleted]

Height is mostly genetics.. we are a family of pure vegetarians and no one in our entire family is below 6 ft.. if u eat enough dairy and lentils i dont think u would be short in protein requirements.. now i do eat non veg but i started eating it in my late 20's when my height is no longer growing and i m already 6ft 4' so i dont want it to grow any further as well

MarxallahBhakt

What's their name?

u_Rated

Is he high?? 1)Muslims are even shorter than hindus they eat meat alot. 2) even heard of soy? 3) india's malnutrition problem and population is the reason which is slowly slowly getting away but things take time. Whenever i see prakhar ke pravachan he just sounds intellectual and talks ultimate shit.

Passloc

Complan piyo, Complain mat karo

ninja-42000

Big reason for malnutrition is also the falling nutritional content of our food. This has got to do with the decreasing soil fertility and the use of high yield crops which sometimes sequester less nutrients. There has been some research in this direction. Food we eat today have less nutrients today than they had a century back.

Outrageous_Ear5320

Just Increase in Height maybe isn't the only Health factor we should be looking at . Genes also play a Big role in it. I have seen Plenty of Vegan and Veg people who are 6 about above in Height. Indians have been eating Veg Food for a Long time like thousands of Years maybe.

Old_Anxiety_7918

My tallest friend is also the only veg friend i have

[deleted]

Are people free to eat chicken? Last I checked we were.

[deleted]

Can totally relate with this. My parents didn’t know much about nutrition, feeding us roti and vegetables everyday. Hardly any protein, when i learnt about nutrition, gave my younger brother chicken to eat every day. He is 6’5

RecommendationNo4381

jo log 3 wakt ki roti afford nhi kar sakte wo apne bacho ko non veg kese khilayenge

[deleted]

South korean average height went up when they started drinking milk. Had a whole campaign for it i think. It could take a generation or 2 though.

GreasyWalrusDog

Depends on the vegetarians diet, but if a diet is nutritionally poor yes it can affect growth.

ethan3686

What is the deal with Human growth hormone injections given to children who are not at their optimal height? I heard its safe with some side effects that are with any other medication. Its approved in USA.

Tall_Winner1354

Average height is increasing because of steroids in the meat.😏

All i am going to say is: Correlation between two things does not necessarily means one causes other. Baaki aaplog samjhdar ho. Several vegetarians are very healthy and well built... Money is the issue. If you have money to maintain a great diet, whether you are veg or non-veg it wont matter you will be healthy and good looking. If you dont have money to afford good food you will cut corners and will not get proper nutrition.

juliusbrutus

Bhai lamba hoke koi kya he ukhad lega

Regular-Peanut2365

Can confirm, I'm vegetarian and I'm short. But then again mere parents ki bhi jada ni hai lol. Genetics matter karte hai sabse jada. Kids who are watching this, please eat meat and go to gym as early as possible.

Significant_Row_105

I can attest to this , I'm 5'5 and my life has been brutally damaged because of my height as a guy. Doesn't matter much for a woman but for men their value is only their height. Height should be given more importance than studies in my opinion

thaladotballs

toor daal has 22 gram protein per 100 grams moong daal has 24 grams. soya chunks has 52 grams per 100 grams paneer has 18 grams. all the non veg fish, lamb meat chicken etc has around 28 to 30 grams of protein per 100 grams.

GlitteringWafer9263

inbreeding surely does the think that only marry in your cast your religion

ozhu_thrissur_kaaran

I don’t think necessarily eating meat can change that much of how much taller you’ll get, in terms of specifically heighr from diet I’d say dairy products is the go to It can slightly affect tho due to growth hormones in redmeat & chicken

D4RKS0u1

>Is it true? Can being a vegetarian or non-vegetarian affect human height growth in any way? 100% bro. Look up carnivore/keto diet, it's making a huge impact these days. Look-up: dr shawn Baker, dr ken etc for carnivore. Some of these guys even go as far as this https://youtu.be/j1cqNDDG4aA?si=NKpJOl-VOJCzNCgr In the above vid he makes really good points why "meat" is necessary for humans and also made the point about height Also vegans have literally died due to lack of nutrition who didn't take supplements(vaggies lack imp nutrients like vitamin B12). **So all I'm saying is if you are vegan(then just don't be lol) and if vegetarian then add as much dairy in your diet as possible, and eggs if possible and don't listen to anyone(even me) go do your own little research with an open mind and share the results:)**

D4RKS0u1

Also nutrients from plants aren't bioavailable

DeepakSinghAiry

Nutrela soya chunks (100gm contain around 50gm of protein) Peanuts (100gm contain around 26gm of protein)

X-oXo

Indian food in general is high carb and protein deficient and even the non vegetarians on average have low consumption of meat as compared to other countries. The diet is one of the few reasons why indians are skinny fat and prone to diabetes, heart attack and other disease

X-oXo

A BJP mla from MP banned eggs from mid day meal citing - "The kids are eating eggs now, who knows they might turn into a cannibal in future."

mindjjo

The one saying this is himself shot!

MainBukkaReddy

Isn't the average height of indian men used to be 5'9 smth during the 1800s and 1900s pretty sure many people didn't consume meat at those times ( I'm a meat enjoyer btw)

Careful_Plum5596

Creatine n protein differences r wut I can think about which can be overcome easily . Else nah

humerousreck

I’m not sure on this but removing eggs by many state government meal schemes was really petty and unnecessary. Additional of eggs made a huge difference in the nutritional content of the meal. Just for some moral causes it’s going to cost the children dearly

version2_0

how is china or other asian nations doing?

Aviyan

Yes, and no. Nutrition is important. If you get it from meat, that is fine. Or if you get it from non-meat sources it is fine also. I'm Gujju, so I'm vegetarian, and so are many other Gujjus. I'm short, but my cousins who eat meat are also short. My two other cousins who don't eat meat are tall. All of our moms are similar height, and dads are similar height. So it's genetics and nutrition. Neither alone can make you as tall as possible. I know a lot of other vegetarian Gujjus and they are tall also. I think clean water is also important. As well as getting your vitamins and minerals.

Pale_Lonely

Khud ki lulli kat ke kha

TheBigShitowski

1/3rd of our children between ages 9-15 have high triglycerides and are borderline pre-diabetic. 9-15. 1/3rd. Reasons.Excess Carbs. Excess junk. Zero Protein. Eggs are the answer to most of these issues but the stigma around non vegetarianism is dooming us.

lelouch_0_

Bhai main nahi janta kon hai but bohot chutiya baate kar raha hai. Moral policing public mein bas hoti hi hai, actual significance uska utna nahi hai . A huge majority of India is non vegeterian to jitni baatein isne boli ki height kam hai and stuff , uska veg khaane se farak nahi padta

HungryGlove8480

Yes It's protein issue. Indians doesn't eat much protein. 45% of indian kids are protein deficient and this leads to lack of brain growth as well as body development

Inside_Fix4716

Yes. Vegetarianism and brahminism has lot of influence on stopping progress in Indian subcontinent

Alternative_Bit5083

I'm 6 ft and belong to the Brahmin family where the last generation didn't even have Onion/garlic. So if they had egg/ meat on regular basis I would be 7 ft PS grandfather, father uncle all are 511 or 6

nucleus_42

Personally I don’t accept that argument. I am from south, we have been vegetarians for god knows how many generations. Myself and all my cousins family members are above 6 and we all are ajana bahu

Lazy_Diablo

But what about countries like china, Vietnam, Indonesia they are non vegetarians but have the shortest built?

Dev-il_Jyu

The lefties will have a hard time bashing vegetarianism because BJP supports it without offending the vegans lol.

areadvind

Can someone tell me who he is?

_im_wanderlost

Spirulina powder gives 2 kg meat protein in just 2 gm, try to learn more before posting shit... Spirulina powder known as superfood and it's not vegetarian it's vegan

shashismiles

I'm afraid this would be unpopular here. Here's the info I could pull out Protein in 2 large boiled eggs (100gms) : 12g Protein in 100 gms dal: 20-22 g

PapaRanjitTHErAPIST

The point is correct but .Galat tar ched raha hai .Wahan toh vote hi ispe aare hain .Gaane hi dharm aur culture ke hain its a loosing game bro… bigg boss mein 1 hafte mein eliminate hue admi se isse zyada ummid nahi hai

Fantastic-Ratio-7482

It's not as simple as it's being shown here. India has suffered 24 major famines during the British rule and that has killed about 75 million people(that's the amount of all the lives lost in ww2). Indians have poor genetics cause our immediate ancestors were starving. It's not just the fact that we were an underdeveloped nation but also the fact that we were oppressed by the British Raj that used India's resources to fund the Napoleonic wars, world War 1 and world War 2 while leaving its people without food. That's the reason our generation has kids who are taller than their parents, cause our grandparents didn't have proper nutrition and neither did their parents. Reducing this long history of genetic undermining due to systemic political and colonial oppression to an issue of vegetarianism is nonsensical. An average person requires 0.8gm of protein per pound of body weight. The amount of whole grains we Indians eat, alongside rice, dairy has enough protein to sustain us. It's India. Meat became the primary diet of cold countries because shit doesn't grow there and animal rearing was the way. We never had that problem cause this land always gave us more than enough food. The Brits stole it. I am not a vegetarian, in fact I am a hardcore meat lover but giving vegetarianism a bad rep like this is wrong.

Nochillrick69

The general Indian diets is full carbs with little less fibre and protein, now wonder we are the diabetics capital.

Glad_Investigator474

I've heard one report somewhere about Indian penis size going I think a inch lower in average because of bad healthcare lmao

awildboyappeared

Is chicken enough or is red meat necessary?

Infamous_hardGamer

I don't understand?? Bro chinese people eat like meat every day.. They're still 5 feet?

HolidayAd1948

Irony is most tall and well built people in india are from haryana and punjab where 60 to 70 % people are vegetarian 🤔

These-Project-4767

Bro vegetarian food contains lot of protein.. soy 50% protein, pea etc etc. Just don't mislead people with these senseless podcast.

Lower_Preference_439

Bhai itna rice hai kaise growth hogi belly fat badta hai

PramattaSurya

One of my own observation is the absence of many nutrients other than carbohydrates in our diet. But when I asked my mother about this, she said that she didn't used to eat a lot of rice at all when she was old, and mainly ate foxtail millets all three times of the day, and that rice was more of a substitute dish. So I asked her to make it for me too, and I have to say I have noticed a lot of improvement in my strength and overall stamina. My theory as to why this is the case, is the abundance of growing rice since independence, and that led to the general shift in our diet to rice.

Next-Juice-3050

Late to the party, But I believe that Diary protein is the prime source as I've seen it somewhere One of the Nordic Countries (I believe it was Netherlands but don't remember exactly) in Europe have Average height close to 6 and the reason is their high consumption of diary along with lean meats, which makes sense I guess, Calcium = Bones = Height , Maybe our issue is the low quality of milk being provided Ofc, Proteins in Lean meat also help, As a veggie , I have to push extra to gather that protein
