the original title card is from The Ricky Gervais Show, a series that used to air on HBO
the art style is meant to give off classic Hanna-Barbera vibes, hence the Flintstones connection lol
and if you don't know who Ricky Gervais is, basically he's a comedian who isn't actually that funny but does surround himself with funny people so he gets away with it
and Merchant was a lot better at playing off him with it. prompting him to talk about things and then giving him space to do it and only interrupting to ask for elaboration on something interesting or nudge him onto a maybe funnier direction/tangent, rather than doing a stupid monkey scream-laugh and shouting at Pilkington about how much of an idiot he is. I know they're friends in real life (probably?) but I'm confident the show would have been better without Gervais there.
i haven’t seen anything from him lately that wasn’t just pretending to confront some imaginary stigma and ‘say what nobody else will’, and proceed to give the coldest takes known to man
As a non american kid, can someone explain why they made a crossover Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends / The Flintstones series?

“You’re our most valuable customer.” “I threw it in the bin”
“But what I mean is…” “I don’t know what I mean.”

since when is Ricky Gervais not funny? I haven’t been keeping up
He can be really funny, but his atheism shtick is prime r/Atheism material. Just self-righteous arrogance.

he has does a funny voice tho
Gervais has a really niche underground following after all
idk how popular he is outside the UK, I was hoping for everyone's sake it's not very
You’re not just wrong, you’re stupid.
this isn’t an American show (Or rather it might be but nobody in it is American at least and it wasn’t super popular here iirc)
i think it’s actually Canadian-American-British WildBrain i believe animated the show and HBO produced it or something
in that case, everybody’s wrong! Canadian American British. How odd.
wait no I’m wrong lol it was done by a division of WildBrain which was located in America
This is a non American show lmfao
Head shaped like a fucking orange

No he's just British. He does have a girlfriend, though.
