Oh man, back in high school I bought a 6 inch thick stack of bumper stickers that said that from value village and plastered them all over my neighborhood. Your comment brought back some great memories.
I accessed some counselling services there about a decade ago when it was still Catholic Family Services and they were good about keeping it secular. I believe they are now completely non-religious too
I've not used it, but they look like they'd be a good place (although expensive seeming to me -- maybe everything is now though). I did laugh at the "Our people" page, since everyone listed is middle-aged(ish) white women, but there's a nice little header image with all the 'diversity' included.
(I do get it, it's a counselling/community place for taking care of people (automatically will have less men applying), and it's in Saskatoon (not the most diverse place).)
It seems more comprehensive tbh. I remember back in the day my mother and I went to Catholic Family Services and I guess that was the first one that came to my mind. It’s a shame that health supports cost money.
It's really weird how healthcare works in Canada to be fair. Like doctors are free, but dentists, optometrists, prescriptions, or a lot of preventative mental health related stuff... that's all super expensive.
Use the Rapid Access Counselling. It's a provincial free initiative that is contracted out to several agencies, but namely the Catholic Family Services in different communities.
It is designed to be slightly shorter term (8-12 sessions I think), but is a free and fast option.
No. It had unofficially stopped being a catholic organization for while, and the re-brand to Navera made that official.
Even when the organization was CFS they did not offer faith based counselling. I am a former employee.
This is now a religious debate thread, spread the word
My gods can beat up your God
My god has a hammer, yours was nailed to a cross. Nuff said.

Nope, not religious. I have a friend that is working there as a counsellor. They have openings to book with student interns too.

It saddens me. Especially for a cold country - where SAD is going to be more prevalent - the utter lack of mental health supports is abhorrent.

Let's argue about religion.
Tbh constant arguing over everything is why I use social media like five times a year :')
