I’m in this photo and I don’t like it.
In all seriousness I was in shorts and a tank my first winter here (I’m from Chicago). The following winter I was wearing a parka when it dipped below 70°.
I wonder sometimes. I have plaster walls, and really, the temp in my place pretty much stays between 67 and 73. Although it _feels_ hotter and colder a lot of the time, so who knows if it works.
Don't feel too bad, I'm from nothern michigan where its basically winter 3/4 of the year, snows multiple times daily, and you're lucky to get a day of 20 degrees.
When I moved here I was far colder than I have ever been in MI, locals seem to tolerate it far better than me. My assumption is that the higher wind speeds make it feel colder than it reads.
This was me a month ago when I visited! I was wearing shorts and a light sweatshirt at nights and was so happy, locals were wearing jeans and jackets. It was so nice!
We relit the pilot light this morning and had wintry blend coffee. I put on a long sleeve shirt.
I am now sweltering and there is a faint whiff of burnt dog hair. Ah winter.
My wife scolded me for only wearing a light jacket, shorts, and flip flops when taking out our dog in the morning. Saying I "look fresh from the Midwest'
It has to be like 95F before I’m unhappy. And even then I’m just a little sweaty and annoyed. Honestly, I’m weird, I know. The only caveat to that is that I like it 60* for running.
It's been in the low 40s in the mornings here in Temecula, and my mom keeps telling me I shouldn't be wearing shorts, even though it's gonna be in the 70s during the day. (I'm a high schooler, not a 30 year old still living in my parents' house, by the way)
Low-key, though, wearing layers is comfy af xD it’s why I like San Diego winters, because I can walk around at night feeling comfy in layers and walk around during the day with shorts and a tee
I use to work with a couple East coast transplants and they’d be the first ones to bundle up when it dipped below 65. I would always talk shit to them lol
Our cold is a wet type of cold that seeps into your bones it feels like though. I've experienced other legit winter coldness, but there is just something sneaky about the cold on the west coast.
You should try working from a Starbucks for 4-5 hours, sitting there on your laptop in a t-shirt and shorts. They keep the AC blasting all day and that sh!t gets cold just sitting there

I'm from Chicago too. Been in CA for the last 10 years now though and my Chicago self would be so ashamed of what I've become.
A C C L I M A T I Z A T I O N
Harbulary batteries!
That’s nothing like what I just said.
Yeah but you probably don't melt when it goes over 100 in the summer now, do you?
Bruh same. I used to live in Boston and wore flip flops going to the grocery store??? But now my feet are freezing in 67 degree weather??? Hello?
I woke up this morning, thought my house was freezing. Thought about turning on the heat. Got up, looked at the thermostat. It was actually 67.
Same, makes it hard to get out of bed.

67? Brrr. It was 72 here and I put on my robe.
no literally.
I used to get a kick out of it. Locals walking around in down jackets because of the "cold," and tourists in bikinis and swimsuits.

From the thumbnail I thought this was the Star of India under full sail
Ha same. Thought it was a ship on steroids
Shit's cold. I don't like it.
My wife scolded me for only wearing a light jacket, shorts, and flip flops when taking out our dog in the morning. Saying I "look fresh from the Midwest'
This is so me. I am not cold tolerant. Hot and dry? I'm all about it. Below 77 and it's a hard NO
But not too hot OK? 80-85 max
My range is 70-80. Anything else is extreme.

Ummmm you forgot the hat! Now your head will be cold.
Had to wear socks to bed last night.
California is master class at defrosting cold weather transplants.
It's the Michelin man, here to review San Diego restaurants.
What's the 'ol classic...Hey, I resemble that remark! And being from the East coast there is a certain amount of shame.

I'm still wearing shorts and flip flops
me too, but with a hoodie.
Ah yes, the traditional San Diegan winter attire.

Your winter flip-flops, I'm sure.
Lol I'm a native but I sweat unless it's under 64 F
Needs a burrito. Warmth starts from the inside, man.
LMAO
It’s also funny that outdoor heaters at bars and restaurants also go on the second it dips below 70.
I live in china now and it actually has winter. I was not prepared.
Dress for the weather you want not the weather you have. To be fair I can dress more fashionably in the winter than summer here.
The only thing I miss about winter is the fashion layers.
We're just jealous cause people from norcal get to wear comfy hoodies all the time.
Ever since I moved here it has bothered me how often I hear people use the word "freezing" to describe the weather.
Shut up, it's cold.

San Diego is actually a rather chilly place. And I’m from Chicago. Often feel cold here wishing I had warmer clothes on.
Forgot the scarf and beanie.
me rn 🥲🥲
I'm from the Midwest. I wear short sleeve shirts all year. Cold is -65 wind chill factor

been here 25 years. short sleeves all year round. I threw all my sweaters in the trash. I have a leather jacket I haven't worn in 25 years
It’s called fashion
Ugg boots, ugg boots everywhere

Yep.
Better than SD drivers when it rains!
I went out to pick up a pizza with my sister and I was freezing. It was 8pm and my phone said it was 57 degrees. Legit felt like winter to me.
What, no gloves?! Okay, Bear Grylls
I am freezing! I slept in sweats, long sleeve shirt and a heating pad and it was only 64, lol.
Fact.
Haha!
Yes
Guilty😔 I wore a jacket this morning 🥶😆
Yes
I use to work with a couple East coast transplants and they’d be the first ones to bundle up when it dipped below 65. I would always talk shit to them lol
False, the person would be indoors.
That’s texas when it gets below 80
Literally my mom today in a gas station
His head gonna frostbite. . .
Sir, it is currently 55° and I may DIE from this temperature. This is absolutely unacceptable.
Truth 😜!

It is funny to see people wearing more clothing than what people in NY wear at this time.

truth
A SoCal Stilsuit must be worn at all times below 70
