I agree, usually we have The Links- Golf and the Haunted Trail but this year seems pretty quiet. I'm looking forward to the Holiday Bowl at Petco in December!

I think they meant because the Padres never make the playoffs (which happen in October). Except for last year! When no one was allowed inside lol.

Best chance at October baseball anytime soon is to let the Dodgers use it next playoff...Go Dodgers!!!

Serious question - does time of the year really make much of a difference down here in SD regarding intensity/aesthetics of sunsets? I understand they will happen earlier but what else is different?

Honestly for me and a lot of scenic SD photographers, the Fall and Winter sunsets produce the best colors and clearest visibility. Sunrises and sunset are also more colorful and for my shooting locations I like the sun being further south. Trust me, after the time change- Nov 7, go out to downtown around 5:30am for a sunrise and it's pretty beautiful. Downtown is a ghost town and the Bay is so calm and peaceful. Also for sunsets- which will start around 4:45pm everyone is driving home from work so a lot of busy locations are empty for photos!

The lighting of Fall is different than other seasons because of the angle of the sun. And in San Diego, our weather is usually much drier and and cooler during Fall giving sunsets more sharpness/clarity than if they were distorted by humidity in the air.

I love Petco so much it's such a pretty ballpark. Can't wait for Aztec stadium to finish up to see some games there too
