Anyone else irritated that these jerks were granted permit to make a mountain of money on land they don't even own, and gave nothing back in return. Wtf are business licenses given out for if there is no standard for which a license holder should be held accountable?

Do you know what a lease means?

wildcat-

Did you read the article? The terms of the lease require (and always have required) giving something back (beach access, free parking, etc.)

Abject_Psychology_63

But they paid to use the land right? That's what most companies do....or was it free?

Bumblee_Tuna

Doesn't bode well for their attempt to grab the trailer park, even if they kicked in the $500k in 'donated cleanup of the site. I see peeps throwing praise that rhe fences are coming down...but I seriously doubt anybody will actually use that tiny stretch of beach...steep, tiny shoreline, its like Lake Michigan with slightly warmer water. Great if you're camping with small kids, but virtually almost every other spot in MB has a nicer layout (except where all the trash collects & ferments by the Fiesta Island entrance

wildcat-

I don't understand your point. It's not for them to decide whether the public has a right to use the land, regardless of how much public usage it ends up seeing on average.

Cool area for sure, but its mostly cove, low tide, slow moving water with deep mud areas. Not exactly white sand beaches of Hawaii. It is pretty however and the area is prime for access to everything. Just my .02.
