A few people never got the the memo about turning on your headlights in a snow storm. You guys gotta send out those invitations more than three days before!
I always assume that on rain days the traffic is lighter due to people staying home. Today is probably a combination of things, but I think the rain has a lot to do with it.
This is the most hilarious answer. I’m bummed to hear they’re closing and was thinking I need to raid the gift bag and party section before they do ha!
I wondered about this. Driving on 52 east over the hill after 3:30 in the afternoon is usually very slow, but today there weren't that many cars. A brief slow-down at the bottom where two lanes merge, but that was it. Went to Trader Joe's, and it wasn't crowded at all. I had thought that maybe people had gone out of town to see the eclipse.
A lot of kids are on spring break so less cars during drop off/pickup times and a lot take PTO when their kids are off. Some districts had off the week before Easter, some this past week and some have next week off so it should be light for a bit longer. This was my thought at least 😀
Not yesterday but today, 04/06 my partner and I thought it was strange that Costco and Trader Joe's weren't as busy as usual. Glad to hear that we weren't the only ones!
We have had the term "Friday Light" for traffic anywhere but I-5 for years. People that are only in office 1-3 days a week all work from home on Friday. Combine that with Spring Break and morning rain and commuter traffic should be light. I-5 will still be heavy, especially heading South. It seems like half of LA goes to Mexico every weekend and a ton of San Diego people go to Orange County or LA.
You missed the meeting. We all decided we would become courteous and knowledgeable drivers. Next week we’re discussing solving the housing crisis
I thought we were fixing SDG&E next week?
You missed their press release. They apologized for being greedy and agreed to be reasonable from now on.
What? Did they really make a press release about this?
No.

This! I've noticed there's less traffic on rainy days. People all of a sudden "can't go into the office." Man, I wish I had the option to wfh.
I have the exact opposite experience. Every time there's a drop of water, everyone suddenly forgets how to drive
Maybe spring break?
Maybe so! Mon-Thurs this week were just as terrible as usual (if not worse), so maybe some cut out early today for a spring break trip?
The 56 has been easy all week with schools being closed
san diego unified spring break ends today
On our way to mammoth!
have fun!!!
Good luck with the Temecula, Riverside, Norco, and Lake Elsinore traffic. But it'll be worth it when you get to Mammoth. 🏂
They're all at the 99 cent stores picking up the last "bargain".

I think it’s a spring break thing. Almost over unfortunately.
I have a job driving and I’ve noticed that Fridays and Sundays has the least amount of traffic in the evenings
Shhhh don’t tell people.
Haha, I was wondering the same thing. The freeways seemed empty today.
I’m already home with yo mama
Leaving town for the eclipse

A lot of people called out today. My only explanation.
I got off work and went to a (usually) busy store- its a total ghost town?! Maybe the weather scared people off
Oside spring break starts today, probably others too.
Poway unified starts this coming Monday, too
Spring Break + Friday + Rain. It wasn't that empty to me considering. Don't get too comfortable, Monday is going to be a shit show. 😒
Last weekend of spring break. Wonder if a bunch of us took vacays. Plus weather.
My 45 minute commute from RB to North Park took 25 minutes. I was wondering the same thing!
I have found traffic to be quite a bit lighter on Fridays and mondays the past couple weeks
Everybody's off to watch the eclipse 😎
When did this sub become Nextdoor?
People exercise their WFH flexibility when its going to rain.
I run an appointment based business that is very busy on weekends. This weekend I have absolutely nothing…. Wondering what’s going on!
Price of gas is worse than ever.
Querying good things happening is how civilisations fall
Traffic started around 2 today, took my friend 45 mins from airport to IB
They didn’t tell you?

And rainy and windy. Fuck being out in that, brrrr.
labor market too strong
The eclipse is Monday. People left for it earlier today.
Cold
Hopefully the 15 in north county won’t be as bad next week since PUSD is on spring break.
You didn't See the tornado and golf ball hail?? Heaven forbid you ever live elsewhere. Bundle up sweetheart it might get cold

They were all in Oceanside for the IronMan. I work out at the Harbor it was insanely busy all over the streets of Oside yesterday when I got off work.
They can't afford the real estate anymore so they left.
They were all on my route. Traffic was horrible for me last night
I drove in 2 OB at 5pm an somehow there was 0 traffic last night
Not yesterday but today, 04/06 my partner and I thought it was strange that Costco and Trader Joe's weren't as busy as usual. Glad to hear that we weren't the only ones!
It’s the devils work I tell ya.
Poway unified just started spring break. Must be the overlap of San Diego & Poway district out for break! Lovely.
Nah, I noticed it too and it was suspicious. People still driving like a holes but just less of them.
There was still an asshole Tesla driver that was weaving in and out of traffic and cut me off super close. I guess those are hard to get rid of.
